I think I've changed my mind from wanting to go to the US. I'll rather take the EU passport and have mobility across Switzerland, nordic nations and mainland europe. Or maybe go to Canada or maybe Australia.

The AFD are only strong in eatern germany. A region that has less industries, and historically were separate from western Germany which was prosperous. They don't have federal might(yet), and even if they win a state as they did in Saxon Anhalt, they need a coalition to run a government. That means most of their schemes won't work because the other coalition parties will strike most of their plans in parliament.


The goal is to avoid East germany, get PR, citizenship and be eligible to go to any EU country to work in the future.

He has to pass the driving licence test. Passing it is one of the hardest in the world, and he needs atleast B2 to confidently do so. If he can do it, of course he will be a big boy because it pays handsomely. Germany is actually a great country, but without minimum of B2, one's chances of excellence is very low

You have made so many points which are very correct. I have had friends and acquaintances who left because of these issues. And honestly, these are some of the things I had in mind, hence wanting to leave.

I’m unmarried though, and that has been a disadvantage. I could have sent her as student elsewhere while I accompany her as dependent leading to a smooth transition.

Also about UK, from my research, the only viable course I can do there may be nursing so I can meet up with the new salary threshold, it’s on my list but quite expensive and time consuming.

The discrimination in schools and in career is quite obvious here. In one of the Afro groups I belong to, several mothers always complain about how their kids are treated at school and other adults complain bitterly also about workplace subtle harassment etc.

I prefer to be in a place where I can express myself confidently and if possible grow to the acme of my career, and where my kids and family would be welcomed and mostly happy. These are some considerations why I want to leave if possible and it must be to an English speaking country.

Language is the soul and key to any country. It’s usually underrated but I know better now.

The only reason I stayed after my masters was because I studied Electrical engineering, with a concentration in the semiconductor industry. Even in Germany, it is widely an English speaking sector because of the multinational supply chain. So almost all chip design or verification engineer roles are English based. Now that I wanna start a family too, I'll leave Germany after 1 year to either UK(If I get Global talent) or Canada if I get a Job from here.

That's because by then I would be a citizen, and mobility would be easy.

Most peole dont know this, but Germany is predominantly a white country. Out of 84m in germany, around 70m are ethnic Germans, while the other 11m are Turkish, middle Eastern. Blacks are very scarce compared to the population in Deutschland.

That's why even if you do well and land good cooperate jobs, you'll hardly see your kind.

This is majorly because Germany was historically not a colony, and did not have slave residents too. So people of color are not common.

As much as it's a better nation in the long run to Canada and the UK, it's not a place to raise children for black people. Your kids will face discrimination

Initially I didn’t plan to stay here, due to some discrimination tendencies I noticed when I first arrived. I was thinking beyond myself and how my future family would cope here.
Later on I decided to stay back.
The thing is I find it very hard to learn new languages. I tried then dropped out. Did some certifications in Salesforce and hoped to get a job, work two years, get pr and then learn the language gradually to b1/b2, the get citizenship.
Somehow since last year, the job market has been brutal.
I understand your advice though because starting afresh won’t be easy hence I’m trying to be double sure before I move anywhere.

I'll Advise you move if learning a new language is difficult for you. Don't raise a family in Germany if you or your wife don't speak C1 deutsch. This is why:

Germany has a school system where kids are separated by academic strength before they go to high-school. Only top performers are put in a track that leads to a university study. Majority go to vocational schools which is why ausbildung is a thing in Germany. Unless you're not a high achiever this path will only get you "comfortable " in the long run but won't get you to top positions to reach peak salaries in germany. That's why many people go for ausbildung, because its easy to be "stable", but you won't peak financially.

The reason most kids of immigrants don't end up in high corporate careers is because the parents are not versed in the language, so they can't assist with homework. There are outliers though, if your kids are born geniuses. What's the chances of that?


The UK is very unstable. Don't listen to any advise to go via study route. You studied economics, and you're over forty. That means it's almost impossible to do a masters in the UK and get a job that pays the £41000 needed for COS.


So as I said earlier, only look for paths that lead to PR. Overall, the EU is still the most liberal place regarding immigration paths

He's not an asylum seeker so it doesn't matter if he had a child now. They'll ask him to go back to Nigeria and apply for family reunification which will take atleast 2 years because Germany uses lawyers to verify.

Some major realities:

1. You're forty, don't make the mistake of leaving germany for another study route. Your 37k euros saved should be used for a permanent option.

2. You really did messed up not getting atleast B2 after 6 years. Lager is never the way.

3. Immigration polices are changing daily and becoming brutal. Germany still offers one of the most stable options. With your 6 years stay, you already qualify for citizenship if you can just get a professional job for one year. If I were you, I'll drop that lager, and then invest the next 6 months for fulltime deutsch starting from A2 to B2.2(Aim for C1.1 if your A2 is strong). With these, you can easily get a job and you won't have problems with auslanderbehorde.

Brother, Canada, USA are not stable right now. Forget the UK. Besides the English aspect, you'll regret leaving germany for the UK on every metric. Only the language is the difference. If you can trust the process for stability with that deutsch path, I promise you, it will be the best investment. DON'T GO TO ANOTHER WESTERN NATION UNLESS ITS VIA PR.

I actually checked to see what's the estimated number from the 75 nations, and it's like 46% of US visa applications(around 300k applications). Let's assume the average applications cost $340, you're looking at a revenue stream of around 100mil usd. For a nation that has close to 5 trillion yearly budget, trust me they've done their calculations and feasibility studies.

The war in Venezuela and the current easy flow of oil was both a security and economic move by Trump.

The US doesn't mind filling that gap with Asians who we both know are taken in a higher caste than us.

I wish as citizens, we can read the world this way and start getting competitive industrial wise so we command respect in such negotiations.

Ghana was on the list in June or July and was removed from the ban by September. That's how productive government negotiations with the US can be. Turkmenistan also got their non-immigrant visa ban lifted within months of diplomatic talks. Nigeria is apparently addressing US security concerns. US troops and drones are in Nigeria now. So I STRONGLY believe Nigeria will be removed from the ban by June this year.

With the recent massacre in Jos, the war in Iran solidifying trumps claim to tighter borders and BAT's growing moves to appease regions for 2027 moves, it's obvious Nigeria is not getting off that list this year.

Nigeria has no benefits to the USA in any regard whatsoever, and POTUS has three years with no reelection, so he has nothing to lose.
