shrimati: @ colours being physically present isn't the problem. The question we should ask is, do they really finish these projects. You see a contract awarded before being re awarded again, so that other corrupt loonies will benefit. This is how this circular madness pervades. Not until Nigerians start asking questions, we will just be like som1 running a circular race. Interesting. Nice point there |

Sotenna: I don't know when Nigeria will be better, starting from it's citizens.
I've been absent from this thread today because I had to visit my school because of this JAMB regularisation issue. Currently the school is on strike, but the DSA dept is still functioning.
I went to see my NYSC desk officer, I got there by 1154hrs and met the man outside his office locking his door, I went straight to him and greeted him, and politely told him I came looking for him, and before I could finish the statement he told me to go back home and come back tomorrow. I smiled and told him that I'm just here to make an enquiry. I asked him if anything is going on with regards to the regularisation stuff...he sternly ordered me to leave his presence, so I smiled again and left, he also headed out of the building, on getting out it started raining, I headed for my car while he himself ran into a corridor to shelter himself from the rain. I drove close to the corridor, opened the door and waved him in, when he came in and saw who was behind the wheel I could sense his discomfort, I smiled again, and asked him where he was headed, he told me and I drove off, when he settled down, he now politely apologised for his earlier actions and asked me to tell him my story, I told him everything, he gave me the answers I needed, and we exchanged phone numbers. Before the short ride was over we were best of friends.
This guy was employed to help students irrespective of how rich or poor they are, irrespective of how tall or short they are, irrespective of the tribe or religion they belong to, irrespective of how handsome, beautiful or ugly they are, but this guy clearly was out to help the *well to do(s)* of the students, too bad.
If I had no car and wasn't opportuned to give him a lift I wouldn't have merited his attention. I'm not that rich but I'm comfortable, and I know oppression when I see it.
Tomorrow if something goes wrong he will have the guts to ask God *why me?*
This is the picture of our Nigeria. My dear, that's naija for u. I went shopping one day at one of this huge supermarkets in ph. I politely asked one of the ladies to show me where I cud get a particular ite and she was like 'check there na' I met another who equally behaved nonchalantly. I had to go look for the stuff myself, after I was done shopping which involved three trips to the cash register with loaded supermarket trolleys, all of a sudden they were running over themselves to pack my items in the bag. And then one had the guts to complain to me that she was hungry, I just smiled at her foolishness and seeing as it was christmas and all, left the four hundred and something naira change I had for her to the surprise of the other ladies who cud not be bothered by my 5ft 2 inch frame.Funny tin was the items were not mine, lol and I once worked as a customer service attendant but seeing as I was the lady with the bucks at that moment buying wine in cartons amongst other tins, I immediately got the title of 'madam'. |
