I keep getting error 7 when trying to flash lavender rom on my redmi note 5.

Since ur bootloader is unlocked u won't lose any as far u know what u are doing, jst install twrp & flash magisk for root privilege, incase u are confused go to page 77 of dis thread. After successfull attemp u can install MIGRATE TOOL for backing up apps, data, calls, sms, when ever u want to switch to other roms. d tool requires root access. U can as well join telegram channel, migrate custom rom wher u will be guided

If bootloader is already unlocked, just go ahead and install TWRP and Magisk.

Otherwise unlocking wipes the phone.

You can only backup app apk. Use xender to transfer to pc
