AN SOS TO THE PDP NATIONAL LEADERSHIP: The Dangerous event unfolding in Esan West

It is on record that the PDP NWC has cleared 10 - Aspirants to contest for the coming Edo Guber election and one of those Cleared and a front Runner for the position -- HON. (DR.) FELIX EHIGUESE AKHABUE, JP, aka, JOEFEL who is from Esan West Local Government Area.

It is worthy of note that Hon. Felix Akhabue, aka JOEFEL had earlier indicated and declared his interest for the election to his ward-7 and the LGA. Under the LGA Chairman - Hon. Andy Ikhajiangbe on 19th of Nov., 2023 where The ward and LGA leaders and the entire Excos were all present at the LGA PDP secretariat.

It is also worthy of note that the Aspirant "JOEFEL" had purchased his Expression of Interest Form, The Nomination Form, and has been duly cleared to run for the position by the PDP NWC.

Few days ago, The Aspirant from the LGA, Hon. Felix Akhabue, aka JOEFEL requested that the LGA Chairman Hon. Andy Ikhajiangbe schedule a meeting for him as the Delegate Congress approaches, The LGA deliberately refused.

Again, the Aspirant who has been the Ward-7 Leader requested his ward chairman to schedule a meeting for him to discuss with his people on 2nd of February, 2024, this was adequately arranged.

To the surprise of the Aspirant, on the said date of the meeting, the ward called the Aspirant and informed him that Hon. Chief Joe Edionwele called him and instructed him to cancel the meeting immediately.

Again, the LGA Chairman who had earlier refused to call meeting for the Aspirant called the Ward Chairman and also instructed him to cancel the meeting and that the State Chairman, Hon. Anthony Aziegbemin has so directed that on no account should any of them arrange or allow any meeting with the Aspirant Hon. Felix Akhabue.

As the time for the meeting which is scheduled for 4-pm today the 2nd of February draw closer, the Political Special Adviser to the Governor Philomina Ihenyen again called the Ward Chairman that on no account must he allow the meeting to hold and that the Governor and the State Chairman have so instructed.

Finally, a Local Government senior council appointee who's business company earlier was hired to supply the canopies and chairs for the meeting and had supplied same called the Ward Chairman that the same persons and the LGA Chairman have also instructed him to go remove the canopies, chairs, and tables already supplied to the venue of the meeting or risk loosing his job in the Council.

As at now, the ward PDP faithfuls who are very much in live with their leader and fully set for the meeting are gunning for war, but the Aspirant who feel allowing such crisis in his ward is not necessary to the extent that the fermenter of the crisis are hiding in their comfort zones to create the crisis, is yet doing his best to calm the nerves of his people believing that those persons would be called to order even though he has the capacity to deal with the situation in his own way knowing full well that he was moving in the right direction leading to his victory in the election, and knowing fully well that those persons are only dealing with jealous and greedy mentality.

So, This is to draw the attention of The National Leadership, The well meaning and Reasonable PDP faithfuls in the state and across the country to the very terrible crisis situation that those Purchased, Busy Body, greedy self seeking, backward, and political crisis merchants who are obviously acting the script of the Governor and the State Chairman who are hell bent on forcing a particular aspirant on the people, in Esan West and Edo central are creating.

This is an appeal to the National Leadership to urgently prevail on those person, particularly the LGA Party Chairman - Hon. Andy Ikhajiangbe who feel because he has been sufficiently purchased to do the bidding of the State Government and State Chairman using his office before they plung the LGA and the party into serious chaos.

It was a display of bewilderment today in Benin city at the purported declaration of Bar. Asue Ighodalo to whoever may care, but without the presence of the real Edo PDP Leaders and party executives, where the acclaimed leader of PDP in Edo central, Chief Tom Ikimi and some other selected few leaders were seen and head singing the song "ODUMA Tale, ODUMA Tale fo, Ebi'Oduma Tale, Aimien Obhase, (ODUMA have said it, ODUMA have said it finish, whatever ODUMA says, nothing can make it not to come to pass)".

The question that readily come to mind is, how does mere mortals boast that extent against the sole Authority of God? How can mere mortals in their ego and folly brag that far? Again, what has the acclaimed ODUMA really said that had ever come to pass in the past? Also, to who was the boasting directed to, the gathering of government appointees without the real owner of the party like the SWC, SEC, and real delegates to be as was widely circulated as going to be the audience?

One thing that readily comes to mind after watching the boasting in songs as ably televised on major national television was the experience in the Biblical Book of 1 Kings 18:20-40 in the challenge between prophet Elijah and the prophets of Baal".

But like those in the Book of Psalms 20:7-8 Amplified Bible (AMP).
"Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we (The rest of Edolites and Esanites) will remember and trust in the name of the LORD our God. They have bowed down and fallen, but we have risen and stood upright".

I have watched in nostalgia the activities of the State Government's Appointees and some PDP gullible yielders in Edo state on how they are basking in the euphoria of selfishness and self defeatism to further create more woes and miseries for the party in their attempt to play along the subjugating card of the Governor who is hell bent on continuing his parochial imaginative hegemony of the PDP and the state through his proxies and Purchased gullible Mis-leaders.

Yes, the governor may have his say, but trust, God through the vast majority of the electorates will certainly have their way. From the way the process is going, The experience of last year's general elections may be a child's play if the Governor and his emergency appointees in the state and in all the Local Government Councils are not called to order to allow Free, Fair, & Credible Elections and selection process within the party.

Yes again, it is the best interest of the part to allow the Edo Central to produce it's candidate for the election, but the process must be seen to be Free, Fair, Credible & Justifiable enough to allow the best and most Popular candidate with known and reliable pedigree and antecedence beyond the raz mataz & Hypocritical sycophantic 'vuvuzelas' from the state government's defined and undefined appointees to emerge. A candidate that is popular and will be highly acceptable by the real electorates beyond the government house appointees will be the magic.

The PDP sure have this election to win or loose depending on how sincere and objective the National Leadership of the party would wear their real political lens, weigh the Strength and Weaknesses, Consider the Opportunities and Threats surrounding the party since the inception and attempted Lordship of the party by Gov. Obaseki, and take a firm position irrespective of whose ox is gored, as the interest of the party must take prominence and remain sacrosanct especially in a highly sophisticated state like Edo.

It's no news that the PDP in the state maintains two group/faction which this coming Guber Primary have it all to finally resolved and settled. The National Leadership must need look into the various faction based on the strength of their SWOT analysis findings, and take a firm position by deciding beyond undue influences and without prejudice on;

i. Which Senatorial District should produce the Guber Candidate and it's Deputy.

ii. Which faction should produce the Governorship Candidate, while the other produces the Deputy.

iii. They can even go the extra mile to decide on other key positions like the "SSG & COS" for the both factions.

Trust, If this is done decisively, the long lost peace and sincere cohesion would be restored and the party would go into the main election with high hope and greater enthusiasm. But when this is not done, trust the election may have been lost before the election.

Looking at the activities and body language of the opposition parties in the state, they are banking on these perceived weakness of the PDP in planning their activities. They may decide to pick their Candidate from either the South or North against the interest of the vast majority of the electorates as is clearly obvious from Public opinion, and relying on the perceived deceptive population strength of those Districts. But if the PDP get their acts well by Fielding a very popular candidate form the Central District, the opposition party would be disappointed realising that the Esan race constitute over 25% of the population in those District due to urbanization and Rural-Urban migration, coupled with sympathy votes that would be attracted from the real Electorates for the Edo Agenda of the Central District extraction for Governor as is already be seen across the state.

"A Stitch in Time Saves Nine". The PDP National Leadership must act decisively now, or save the PDP faithfuls the stress of struggling for the Edo State Governorship election which would have been lose before the election if the needful is jettisoned.

EDO CENTRAL PDP ATTEMPTING SAME ERROR OF HISTORY:

------- The case of Ugbesia vs Osunbor.

One would not forget in a hurry how the same character among the Leadership of Edo Central Senatorial District PDP under the then National Leader, Late Iyasele of Esan Land, and through the Senatorial Leader and my Uncle ~ Late Hon. Ogun strived vainly to endorse and force Sen. Odion Ugbesia as the consensus Candidate of the PDP prior to the 2007 Edo Governorship election on several occasions.

It is quite unfortunate that because of Greed and mere selfishness, the same character that conspired together against Osunbor then (except those that have transited to the great word beyond), and maybe only one among them now who stood firmly for Osunbor that time are the same character employed by the Governor through the state Chairman, Tony Aziegbemin, ArchBishop Okosun, and Chief Tom Ikimi as an ignorant too in the hands of those so called "fearless failures" from past public privileges and opportunities to carry out similar sinister evil against the true sense of democracy.

It is sad that many people may not know the level of evil these hatchet men that are cashing out from the Governor and the Asuelinmen Ighodalo are perpetrating against the "ESAN AGENDA", as their activities is thoroughly going to be detrimental to the collective aspiration and will of the people to the extent that it is provocative and annoying to other prepared and capable Aspirants, and the PDP membership in the other Senatorial Districts where the Legacy Coalition is highly rooted loudly and pronounced. How I wish Sen. Ugbesia is fair enough to tell Asue Ighodalo the level of damage those Mis-Leaders did to him after devouring his hard earned money in Naira and Dollars, and left to nurse his wounds alone then. Imagining a purported "Chief Ikimi led screening Committee" where characters like Tony Okonigene who is highly notorious in shady deals considering his very negative political history, Bar. Ogedegbe, and other characters scouting for highest bidders caring less for the collective aspiration of the people, charging and collecting money from almost all the Aspirants in millions and thousands of Naira where Asue paid #1m, One other paid #500,000, Asue paying another #250,000 by Proxy for Itulah, and others, running to over #5m, and yet attempting to disqualify or coarse some to step down for a predetermined aspirant after collecting money them?

It is worthy of note that the Committee are behaving as if they are screening aspirants for Edo Central /Esan GOVERNOR, and their activities is capable of creating discord and anger against Esan Agenda. The best they should have worked towards is to see how they can democratically appease some aspirants and prune them to two with one each from either of the PDP faction while allowing other Senatorial Districts to choose one out of the two from Esan, instead of attempting to play a script by forcing a particular aspirant on others and the people.

"A stitch in time they say saves nine". Therefore, Those greedy and self seeking hatchet men should be advised / warn to retrace their steps and allows real democracy to thrive.

Edo 2024: I am in the Race – Ojezua

Contrary to what is being assumed by many, the Eagle Gate investigative reporters confirmed firsthand from the foremost governorship aspirant of the PDP, Anselm Usioise Ojezua, Esq., that he is in the contest and his eyes on the ball.

It should be noted that the Edo Central PDP Special Committee met yesterday, Friday, January 5 and today, Saturday, January 6, 2024, to discuss on reducing the number of aspirants coming from the district. As of today, four (4) people in total out of nine (9) have stepped down from the race, leaving five (5) people still standing.

Ojezua wants his supporters to remain steadfast with confidence that he remains in the contest and by no means has any intention whatsoever to step down from the race. He says, '‘I have a lot to offer the people of Edo State both in politics and administration and I am passionate about it. I do not represent myself; I represent the people who believe in me, my ability to deliver on good governance as well as unify the party.’'

Nothing is easy, he doesn’t expect this contest to be easy, but that does not deter him from concluding on what he has started. He added, "I will continue with my campaign while the committee concludes on their findings. I trust this clears any doubts on my position''

EDO CENTRAL PDP LEADERS PURCHASED TO COMPROMISE

An Edo Central PDP Youth Stakeholders Forum has raised an alarm about the dangerous scheme by selected Edo Central Senatorial District's Leaders to prosecute the Obaseki Agenda to force a candidate on its Delegates and the state for the coming Edo Governorship election.

This SOS/alarm has become necessary considering the implications that it would create for the party in the state when an unpopular candidate is been forced on the Delegates and the Party to face the obviously strong opposition parties.

After Several attempts were made by the State Chairman of the party to announce a Particular aspirant as claimed to be the anointed of the state Governor and from his Local Government Area failed, he decided to orchestrate a Committee to screen all the aspirants making a former PDP BoT member, Chief Tom Ikimi to be the Chairman. The Senatorial Chairman, Bishop Okosun who has been hosting other aspirants, collecting, and sharing their money, and few others as members. Also, a special Adviser to the Governor on political matters Mrs. Philomina Ihenyen and the Deputy Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Mrs. Edeko were drafted into the Committee.

Recently the Special Adviser to the Governor boasted that their mandate is to go and announce the Governor's annointed aspirant who is even least popular among other serious aspirants before the Electorates, and also boasted that even if it is a Goat, they do not care so long it is the bidding of their pay master. After several attempt to conduct their nefarious act, they decided to employ the services of a former member of the House of Reps who they referred to as the fearless that can do anything so long the price is paid.

So, Before the Christmas, the price was paid in Naira, and today he is seem anchoring the action. During one of their meetings held on the 4th of January at the Chief Ikimi's house in Igueben where they invited all Esan Aspirants, the same so call fearless leader was seen threatening some of the aspirants that they should step down for Asue Ighodalo who according to him was the governor's anointed, and that they have no other choice than to step down, and that they will announce the Asue as the party's candidate during their next meeting scheduled for Saturday 6th of January, and as Edo Central leaders, they will instruct all LGA Chairmen on the district and the Would be Delegates to go work and deliver the Asue Ighodalo during primary, and they will declare any other aspirants that may refuse to step down as Rebellious against the Party's decision. He also told some persons that after announcing and forcing the delegates to do their bidding as Edo Central Senatorial District leaders, they would have satisfied the governor and have worked for their price, as they will not care what the decision of the other two Senatorial Districts of South and North would be.

During the meeting, a former councilor from Uromi name Ken who didn't even complete his tenure as a councilor due to suspension by his colleague, and the S.A. to the "APC" Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Itulah who have neither flagged off nor declare their intention to anybody including their family, ward, LGA, or any Senatorial District were drafted into to Committee's meeting by the Special Adviser to the Governor to read a prepared note that they were stepping down for Asue Ighodalo.

During the Igueben Meeting, an aide to the Former House of Reps member was seen and heard outside boasting that the ticket has already been purchased and paid for by the Governor for Bar. Asue Ighodalo with so much amount of over #50m, and that the ticket as far as the Edo Central leaders are concern has already been purchased settled for Asue Ighodalo. He also boasted that all other aspirants are only wasting their time and resources.

The aide also narrated why the Committee are rushing and, in a hurry, to make the pronouncement even when none of the Aspirants has purchased the Party's Expression of Interest form nor the Nomination form to even know who was really serious. He also said that the leaders want to make the pronouncement in a hurry before they will be called to Abuja by the NWC and set up National Committee to advise and see that the process was free, fair, and justifiable. He said their wish is to have the pronouncement and decision as part of what the Governor would present to them in Abuja with the claim that Asue Ighodalo is not his personal anointment, but the desire and decision of Edo Central Leaders where the Governorship position is zoned to by him.

On behalf of the group, we wish to assert that, As Grassroot stakeholders of the party, we can no longer pretend and stand aloof to see the party going down and to experience worst case scenario than the February 2023 general election, yes, we know that everyone has a price, but it shouldn't be at the detriment of all and the party which we see and hold strongly, and that each time the leaders perpetrate evil like this against the party and the collective desire of the Majority while undermining it's consequences because they believe where they are going is closer than what we the youth are seeing or imagining.

We are calling on the National Leadership to caution the state Chairman of the party who is the mastermind, and the Edo Central Leaders to stop their shenanigan which will only further polarise and destroy the party. This is democracy, every Senatorial District and members of the party should be allowed to make their contributions on who will lead them.

The question that must be asked is, is the Governor going to be for only Edo Central Senatorial District like a senator that they can decide and always manipulate without minding the consequences as was experienced during the last general election?

Is it only Edo Central Senatorial District that would produce the candidate for the party?

Is the party's ticket for sale through obvious manipulations for greed without considering its consequences on the party as was experienced during the last general election?

That the PDP is a Leader's party as most often described, does that mean that all other party members are not relevant?

That the Governor want the party's ticket to be zoned to Edo Central, likewise majority of the Electorates in the state, doesn't it mean he must force a business associate who is biologically from Edo Central but Social-Politically a stranger to the Senatorial District and even the entire state on the party and the electorates without considering its consequence?

Must the Party's candidate be determined by Dangote as was flaunted recently on social media?

Must Edo state be added to the Dangote, Asuelinmen Ighodalo, and Obaseki's Business Empire as has been experienced since the past 7-years of their reign in Edo state Government House?

Must our Leaders be so blinded to the realities of time past all because of Greed and Shallow mindedness?

In their privacy you see and hear those same leaders complaining that if the party features Asue Ighodalo, it portrays a potential failure and near impossible task to market to the electorates of the state beyond the party primaries, and other party teaming faithful across the state and party divides who are only waiting to see and assess the potential candidates from each other parties to make their informed choices. So the question is, why will they allow greed and poverty of their mind to so becloud their sense of reasoning and judgment at the detriment of the party and their conscience?

One of the leaders was heard claiming that because the National Leader, Chief Dan Orbih has refused to announce and declare publicly that the Governorship ticket would be zoned to the Edo Central Senatorial District, that they don't trust him, and that's the more reason they should join the Governor who has only declared his own to anoint the Governor's aspirant whether favourable or not, and damn Chief Dan Orbih, while and striving on how they can rely on the state resources and machineries to market him to the public. He also claimed that with the enormous state resources that the governor released as have already been seen through the office of SSG and considering the poverty and hardship level in the country, they think they would be able to force him on the public.

Dear National Leader sir, if you are really interested in the progress of our party in Edo State, especially now that we are striving hard to heal our wounds from the last general elections, please kindly come and help us stop this obvious time Bomb and ill wind that will ultimately blow no one any good.

Please you may also wish to kindly employ the assistance and services of dependable party men outside the state that will not compromise on account of personal Greed and that yield to detrimental sentimental relationship with the Governor to look the other side of justice and fairness, to come and help us salvage the party in Edo state.
