Let me say from the start that most successful politicians on record are/were not economists--from Lee kuan Yew, Kennedy, Bill Clinton, Paul kagame, Mahathiar Mohammed and others. Professor Zulum is an agricultural expert, but he has achieved in four years what kashim Shettima didn't achieve in eight years, despite being a so-called expert of the economy. In fact, he is more remembered for his infamous role in the Chibok abduction scandal than any remarkable record for good governance.

Is El-Rufai an economist? But he would have been the best running mate for Tinubu, but his only obstacle is that he comes from North West and that he is too independent minded. Is Osinbajo an economist? But he is one of the most competent Vice presidents ever elected. Peacock mentality detaches narcissists from their own reality.

Being an economist doesn't necessarily make you better qualified than others to deal with a country's problems. The former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani was a World Bank rated economic expert. Western leaders enthusiastically endorsed his candidature in the belief that his intimidating economic credentials were enough to fix failed state. But he failed disastrously not only in terms of fixing the economy, but also in halting the Taliban advances to take over the country.

It's insulting to human intelligence for a former Governor with an underwhelming record of performance to be lecturing us about economic expertise. Even as a Senator, what impact did he make there? How can such a man even compare himself with a former Vice president for eight years? You can't tell us that a successful investor and a job creator like Atiku Abubakar shouldn't talk about the economy. Being a former Zenith Bank GM doesn't automatically mean that you are better than other politicians rather for office. Talking too much and always seeking to pull down others inevitably puts public spotlight on your own exaggerated claims to better record of performance. We shouldn't don't rate leaders on the basis of dubious performance awards by mercenary NGOs and other opportunistic groups.
