Hello. In 2024, after I finished my NYSC, and for like 6 months I couldn't get a job. While I was searching I found an online job (a publishing job) which has made me close to #10M. On this job there are days I make 200k, some 500, 1m or even more depending on how hard I work or how luck smiles on me.

The issue now is that I got a 9-5 government job that pays around 150k. Tfare alone takes 40%. I'm a single man, 30, PWD. Tbh this money is too small. And talking of managing the two to three jobs ain't easy. It's taking a toll on my health. And too much focus on the govt job is causing a neglect/decline on my online job. I'm being pressured by my parent to go for this 9-5. They don't understand this online job. They think it's a scam. Imagine when will 80 k buy me my Lexus RX 350? When will I begin my own family?

Apart from this publishing job, I've found two other online jobs I've started focusing on. I save well, I don't spend unnecessarily, and I invest well too.

Please advice me what should I do. Should I leave the govt job and continue to lock in?

Forget about what anyone has told you, here lies your problem. I know this because I was in the same position earlier in life in my 100 level period.

Your problem is either:
1. You have nor been in a conducive environment for a long time. Once you find yourself in the right environment you will be happy being yourself.

2. Lack of motivation and happiness... let me tell you a story, there was a time I was so broke that I had on 10naira on me.. I was in my room for 2 days no food , only drinking water. I was lying down weak and felt dejected and depressed. I was so hungry that I couldn't stand up to go to have my bath. But as soon as I received alert from my parents and strength came out from nowhere. I got up, took my bath and trekked to the bank. When you are happy you feel strong and ginger.

3. Family upbringing.... children from most families where there is no real love usually experience depression. Some families like to instill fear in kids and as a result the children turn out to be timid, anxious and/or fearful.

4. Finally I think you are just missing something that makes you happy. What is that thing that you love doing? For some people it's sex, others love to gym, some love to go shopping, etc find a way to engage in something you love or be around people that genuinely love you and allow you to be your real self.

Solution:
Do what you love. Since I was born I have never worked at a job. I hate being around people. During my nysc I didn't go to camp, I didn't attend PPA for one day, I only went for that stuff they did once a month abi week.
Make sure you do what makes you happy and be in an environment that motivates you. For example even if I'm given a bank job with high pay I will reject it because I hate such environments.
In the western world, people that encounter such issues as yours are sometimes put on anti depression/anxiety medications, these medications is like replacing a dead battery with a new one. They make you agile and active and at the same time you feel relaxed and strong mentally. Just that they can become addictive. If you watch prison break there is a guy called Alex Mahone, the drugs he was taking made him so smart. I personally know some drugs that could help you but you really need to think long and hard before you partake in it bcs it gives you an entirely new personality and can be addictive.

Whether you are poor or rich...just try and be happy and have peace of mind...you see all those so-called rich people...if they tell you what they're battling inside eh...l know a multi-billionaire...who's dating a female senator that once told me that he doesn't sleep for more than two hours every night!...the man is always rapping to me how everyone thinks he doesn't have any problems...while he has his own huge personal problems...
Besides, most of all those rich people you see are battling mental issues and addictions especially those so-called celebrities...and it is mostly the hard substances that they
can afford to take cus of their money that causes those mental issues and addictions...l even heard that that ugly one that her name starts with "J" and end with "a" that calls herself a sex therapist or something like that was recently admitted to a psychiatric hospital to undergo drug rehab..and while there...she was raving mad and always demanding for sex! Do you think that even if she spends months there and gets rehabilated that she won't come out tommorow and delve right back to those hard substances again cus she has the money to afford them? It is much easier for a broke person than a rich person to successfully break an addiction especially substance addiction! I'm talking out of experience! And you see...any substance addiction is pure hell! It is somewhere you don't wanna be! In fact, only your God will deliver you from that place like he delivered me...if he still has a future unfulfilled destiny for you l swear...So my point is this...never envy any so-called rich person...cus you don't know what that person is really passing through inside! Just work smart...be happy and have peace of mind! Shalom!
