Everyone is talking about it been a skit because it's a woman assaulting a man. If it's the other way round, at this time, men in nigeria go down collect. Human rights activists would have traced them to their door step with feminist chants. We would have questioned why she should give him her hard earned money even though he sponsored her abroad. The inconsistencies in this world is mind boggling. |
Politics › IPOB: We Can Agree To Disagree by Connoisseur(op): 6:51am On Jan 29 |
At some point, even sworn enemies' interests align.
The issue of Monday's sit at home in the South East has been a recurring situation. The IPOB at the time have washed it's hand off the enforcement of this order and have encouraged citizens to go about their lawful activities. The right thing to do at this time should be to reiterate this position and advice all traders to resume business activities especially in Onitsha which have been the only remaining sector kept hostage by this order.
To do this, even though it supports the government position, is not a betrayal of the Biafra struggle or abandoning the leader in his travails. There is always a time for alignment and realignment. This call will also calm and descalate the situation in the region and would have encouraged the state government to call of the closure of the main market in Onitsha.
Let us all put ourselves and the citizens we claim to fight for in consideration in all of our actions. On this case, let's agree to disagree. |

ibechris: Driving cars produced from 1990 to present day does not need to be warmed before driving.
Reason is thus: 1. Fuel, synthetic oil and faster acting components eliminate the need to idle. U can read it up yourself.
My car Manuel explained all this to me and that is why my CRV of 10years has been fantastic till date.
U can read it up online for better clarity. But I have known this for long sha. I have read about that too... But, I wonder why cars start at a higher rpm and then comes down after some seconds. Do you normally start your car and engage the gear on that high rpm? |

Namaster: MADNESS!
My first instinct was to ask about the financial wellbeing of the lady's nuclear family.
Because the fact is it's IMPORTANT for the immediate family to be financially secure before making any kind of REGULAR contributions to the extended family.
You can't be STRUGGLING to feed and still dashing out #50k.
To that end, I was going to ask about the wife's income and her contribution to the household and the husband's income too.
But it seems that's NOT the case. It seems her nuclear family is doing well. And #50k is NOT a stretch for them.
Plus, #50k is NOT really a lot of money anyway.
And after reading the quoted part, it seems the husband is just a FOOL on a power trip.
It's one thing if the woman is JOBLESS and doesn't contribute to the household OR takes money from her husband to give to her parents when the household isn't buoyant enough to afford it.
But voicing the idea that a GROWN adult must CEASE all financial supports to her parents and instead give you ALL the money she worked for is another thing.
And that other thing is MADNESS! What if the husband was looking for the contribution to be a family thing and not from the wife alone per se. He is now a member of the family, maybe he wants inclusion in the family affairs |

Connoisseur: Am not really a car person myself but I know the basics. A 3.3l engine cannot be compared to a 1.8l corolla in terms of anything, fuel consumption inclusive. That's why it's advisable to know some basics before buying a car, otherwise maintenance becomes an issue.
You would need to calculate your average mileage and compare to the manufacturer's before you can decide your car guzzles fuel. If you do upwards of 50km everyday, then 10k (69litres of fuel) on an rx330 isn't a bad deal. If you feel it is, then it's time to sell it and buy a corolla Just imagine how bad Nigeria has gotten Seven years ago, ten thousand Naira will buy sixty nine (69) litres of petrol, now it's just eight ( litres 🙆♂️🙆♂️ |

You seem to be implying that my concerns about Shettima's potential presidency are unfounded, while your hypothetical scenario is valid. However, considering the complexities of Nigerian politics, it's essential to explore all possibilities.
Shettima's background as a banker, lecturer, and politician, including his experience as Governor of Borno State and Senator for Borno Central, makes him a significant figure. Still, the impeachment process and its implications for Nigeria's future are critical topics for discussion.
Would you like to explore the potential consequences of President Tinubu's impeachment or discuss Shettima's qualifications as a leader? Even though I have concerns about Shettima's presidency and Tinubu's for that matter, I am a realist. |

Would you like to explore the potential consequences of President Tinubu's impeachment or discuss Shettima's qualifications as a leader? First, learn the meaning and use of words. You are the one with the hypothesis. That is, you are the one saying, 'what if' Shettima resigns after Tinubu's impeachment. The fact as at today is, the only time Shettima will resign as VP is before Tinubu's impeachment. |

21lucky: I got your hypothetical scenario, but let's clarify the succession process. According to the Nigerian Constitution, the Vice President assumes the presidency in the event of a vacancy. If President Tinubu is impeached and Vice President Shettima opts out by resigning immediately after tinubu impeachment, Senate President Godswill Akpabio would be next in line to become Acting President.
However, it's essential to note that the presidency has stated that the absence of President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima won't create a leadership vacuum, as physical presence isn't necessary to perform their duties.
Would you like to discuss the implications of this hypothetical scenario or explore other topics? Lmao I am the one giving hypothetical scenario and not you fantasizing about Shettima rejecting a presidency, continue... |

I agree with you that Vice president is a president in waiting in the absence of the president but if after tinubu impeachment, then the vice president says he will not like to be the acting president, then who do you think will be the next acting president? Tinubu is impeached and Shettima opts out of the presidency...., FUTURE IMPOSSIBLE TENSE BUT Since we are fantasizing, then he has to resign as acting president because the transition is automatic, I hope it's clear |

ch214: I understand you think I'm being persistent, but let's focus on the facts. Kashim Shettima's qualifications and experience make him a suitable VP candidate, as evident from his background in Agricultural Economics and his time as Commissioner for Finance in Borno State. However, the question remains whether he's the right fit to succeed President Tinubu, considering the current economic and security challenges Nigeria faces.
Would you like to discuss the key factors that could impact Shettima's potential presidency or explore alternative scenarios? You already answered yourself. Any VP is a president in waiting |

ch214: I understand your point, but let's consider the broader context. While Shettima is the VP, we should also think about other factors that might influence presidential succession. What about the Nigerian Constitution's guidelines on eligibility and succession? Are there other potential candidates or scenarios we should consider? What if the Vice President Shettima refuse to accept the offer to become acting president in the event of the president's absence. You just don't give up, do you? Every factor that should bar him from succeeding the President would have barred him from becoming VP |

ch214: I understand you feel I'm using reverse psychology, but this is not beer parlor conjectures for it is verifiable information. Let's focus on the facts. My goal is to encourage critical thinking and explore possibilities, not manipulate opinions.
Regarding Shettima's suitability, consider his track record and policies. We should evaluate his qualifications, experience, and vision for Nigeria's progress.
The Yar'Adua situation in '09 is different from our current context. We can learn from history but shouldn't assume identical circumstances. GEJ's decision then doesn't dictate our stance now.
Discussing Tinubu's impeachment with Akpabio as Senate President may seem unlikely, but it's essential to consider all scenarios in Nigeria's dynamic politics.
I agree with you that tinubu government is a failure that must be removed and we must be reasonable and avoid spreading misinformation. Let's focus on verifiable facts and constructive dialogue to address our concerns about the government. Moreover, the Yar'Adua situation is not different, it's just a reference to the order of succession of the presidency regardless of the zoning arrangement between the North and South. |

ch214: Speculating about secret agreements between Tinubu and Akpabio isn't constructive. Unless we have concrete evidence, we can't assume their existence or implications. Let's focus on verifiable information and ongoing impeachment discussions. The process requires substantial evidence and adherence to constitutional procedures. This pathetic attempt at reverse psych most of you guys use is truly appalling. You are the one throwing up beer parlor conjectures and expecting everyone to agree is verifiable information. The question you need to answer is what made Shettima unfit for the job. During the Yar'Adua situation of '09, did you advise GEJ to reject acting status. Talking about a Tinubu impeachment with Akpabio as a senate president is the height of delusion. It's still almost impossible even with a hostile SP.
