The weekend came so fast and we had to go see her dad. He was doing better and his vital signs were just checked when we entered. He was all smiles when he saw her and she couldn't resist the feelings she had inside her. He cried and hugged him deeply and passionately asked if he was feeling better. I stood by and watched the whole experience unfold and he asked his daughter who I was. I greeted him immediately and she told him that we were friends. He smiled and thanked me for coming to see him too. As we were about to depart, he called my name and told me to look after his daughter. She smiled and I responded, "of course". On our way back to school, we left no moment idle as we spoke, laughed, and enjoyed each other's company. I couldn't resist the urge as I looked into her eyes as we laughed to tell her that I liked her. She smiled kept her head down and told me thank you. She squeezed her body with mine but I tried to hug her fairly. I was concerned about our environment. It really did feel good but left me confused. I was like, didn't you just hear what they said just now? These were words I couldn't utter but wonder in my head. Then she said, he has woken up! He has woken up! I realized that she didn't get to hear what Amaka and her friends had just said and that she was on a call. She had just got a phone call from her mum that her dad just won the battle with the coma. He was awake from the coma but still hospitalized. She was all smiles all day long and I was so happy for her. Classes ended and she told me that she would like it if we went together to see her dad during the weekend and I agreed. She couldn't just stop thanking God for the recovery as it meant the world to her. So we walked back to T-square junction where we would usually depart to our separate ways with ending statements like "goodbye", "see you tomorrow" and the likes, but something changed today. As we were about to exchange those words, she gave me a big hug again. It was nice and I didn't want it to end. She said goodbye and retracted her body and I did the same. On getting to my hostel, I couldn't just think straight anymore as the whole incident of the day got me excited and aroused. I could still perceive the scent of her perfume and feel the softness of her whole body. I just wanted the whole experience again and the rest of my day was concluded with me daydreaming. I wanted nothing, not even food but just the experience and the comfort it brought. If you asked me if I had fallen in love with her, I would unwaveringly say no! But I knew it was the beginning of all shades of beauty or beastly as we had no idea of what to expect. ***************** Next chapter next week ***************** |

Okay, try to breathe… what happened Titi? I asked her over the phone. My dad! My dad! She replied. What about him? I asked a second time. He was just rushed to the Hospital. I just got to hear about it from my mum. She told me that he had been alright and all of a sudden, he slumped. He is my everything! He is always there for me! He is my one true friend! She kept on and I sympathized with her. He was in a coma and was stabilized in the hospital. I knew this would be a tough period for her so I decided to assist in any way I could. I made it a necessity to be close to her as I knew she needed me at the point of the incident than ever even though we were still getting to know each other. I encourage her to attend her classes despite the incident so she could get her mind off it and hope for a speedy recovery. This was after she had missed a week's class and all she did was cry and pray in her room. I would wait for her at T-square junction just to Walk with her to class every day and after a while, it became the routine. This worked well for her as she got a chance to smile when I cracked my silly jokes. Yes, it was a bit funny, but only she could really see it. After 3 weeks of participating in the same walking tradition every weekday, we found it strange that we didn't work back to T-square junction after classes. We talked about it and began the second walking tradition after classes. Meanwhile, she would get moody once in a while when she remembered that her dad was still in a coma and the expenses were accumulating. Our only option was to allow the current state of her dad's health to eat deeply into all of his savings just with the hope of recovery. Today, the weather wasn't perfect and the sun hide in the dark-colored clouds that covered the sky. We had just walked into class together as we always did when Amaka and her friends decided to walk past us, calling us lover birds. They all laughed after the statement as they passed. Okay, I got a bit confused, pulled out her note and showed it to her, if it was her's Oh, it's mine, but let me cross-check the notes I am with because they seem complete she replied. She checked again and the number of notes was still complete, but this time around, she noticed a different note which she pulled out and showed me. Wow, that's mine, I replied. We smiled exchange notes and exchange pleasantries. I then asked her for her number and she didn't hesitate to provide me with it. Well, it began to seem like a love story. And one that was similar to those in the movies. But would love conquer us? We couldn't say. Even if it did, was it going to last? We couldn't say. We got more in touch and I got to know her more. I was so concerned about how she was able to have two jobs and still keep up with class activities. She told me that she made a part of her income do some of the work for her. Now, titi felt more relaxed hopeful, and encouraged. It was all seeming like she could achieve all she wanted without doing it the way her female mates did. I would always describe her as being independent, sound, driven, and optimistic. But the thing was that she was a realist. She would always try to calculate what every decision she makes produces, and a solution when things became difficult. Well, if you ask me, I admired her and I also wanted her. Yes! She was different in her kind of woman which made her special. Before we got into taking terms, I never liked her and we saw each other once in a while when in class. On a faithful day, the lecture ended late. As the lecturer left the class, she quickly hurried to her place of work. As she hurried away, she left one of her notes behind, on the desk she sat. Fortunately, we both sat together and I picked up the note, so I could hand it over to her in the next class. You are late again! Her employer exclaimed. So sorry ma, our lecture ended late, she replied. It wasn't the third or fourth time she was coming late for work but her boss knew she was hardworking and she needed her. On the next day of the lecture, I was eager to hand over titi's book to her. I saw her in class and as I approached her, so we could have a little talk before handing the book over, I noticed that my palms became a bit sweaty and my voice lost its roar. So I got close, touched her back so she could turn over and then, told her that I was with her note. I continued, explaining to her how she left it behind. As I did, I felt like James Bond who had just rescued the president daughter and was handing her over to the president. Then suddenly, she interrupted and said, you must be mistaken!
