Tokzdapp:I feel you bro. It's a crazy experience. How about withdrawing your current application, getting a new CAS and reapplying under the super priority route? It looks like they just forget some applications and it may require some divine visitation to get a caseworker to go back and work on the case. UKVI is just a mess. |
chamber2:Congratulations! |
doublestar21:Thank you! |
Bimbo89:That's really stressful. If you can, get your school to contact them. |
Turner25:Go here -- https://www.gov.uk/evisa/set-up-ukvi-account Then follow the onscreen instructions. Note that the account you created during your application is different from this. Start by creating an account, then follow the instructions. At some point you'll need to switch to the 'UK Immigration: ID Check' app to verify your identity -- use 'Connection Codes' to make the switch. |
Bimbo89:This is my timeline if it helps: Bio -- 23rd July NSF email -- 8th August First paid enquiry (email) -- 14th August (requested them to escalate as it's passed 15 working days for standard visa application) CAS Used -- 15th August Second paid enquiry (call) -- 26th August: Decision made but no email yet. I proceeded to UKVI website and created an account, filled in the 'Link eVisa' form and behold it was successful. Try asking them (UKVI) to escalate your issue, and contact your school to know the status of your CAS. |
Bimbo89:I think you should do a paid call and ask about the status of your application. My Visa got approved today but no email yet. I called and asked about the status of my application and I was told a decision has been made -- I proceeded to UKVI website, created an account and attempted to link my eVisa... Of course, it was successful. |
Bimbo89:Biometrics 23rd July, still waiting for a decision. I checked with my school's visa/CAS team and they confirmed that my CAS status showed as used since 15/08 -- meaning that's when they started working on my application or so. And I should be expecting a decision soon. Try checking with your school to know the status of your CAS if that helps... |
Mawedamz:It’s just a waiting game now, as stressful as it is. I’m in the same boat -- same biometrics timeline, still waiting for a decision. |
Mawedamz:Try sending a paid enquiry and request escalation. |
Tissyjay:This is what you need to keep in mind: 1. Financial Evidence: UKVI requires that the money sits in your account (or your sponsor’s account) for 28 days before you apply. If you already have the funds or they’ll be deposited tomorrow, you should be good to submit your application from 17th September onwards. 2. CAS: How quickly you get your CAS from your school will also affect your timing. I would work with 17th September as the date when your proof of funds matures. Keep in mind, most schools (if not all) ask for a tuition deposit before issuing a CAS, and even an interview, so check that with your school. 3. Visa Type: Since time is tight, your best bet is to go with priority service to get a quick decision. If everything lines up and you meet the requirements, you should get your visa decision by around 25th September, and then you can jump on the plane to the UK ASAP. You can even book your flight ahead of time, and if possible, go for a flexible option so you can get a refund or change it if needed. Edited to add: IHS -- 1629.52 USD Visa Application fee -- 734.00 USD An additional £500 if you choose priority service. |
Cardoza:IHS -- 1629.52 USD Visa Application fee -- 734.00 USD The amount in NGN depends on the exchange rate/bank used. |
Y'all still waiting for a decision from UKVI and it's well over 15 working days since you submitted your biometrics, flood them will paid calls/emails. Even though they've said 'do not contact UKVI' -- contact them as they've breached the initial terms... ![]() |
Joypearl123:Yeah, go ahead and add your NYSC certificate. |
Joypearl123:CV isn't a compulsory document. However, some people add it to support their applications, especially those with a wide study gap -- the CV should explain to UKVI what you've been doing since you graduated. If you don't have a wide study gap or no study gap at all, you may skip adding a CV. Also, adding employment letters/references is equivalent to adding your CV. |
Asakevic:Congratulations! What time did you receive the empty NSF email? |
Uzonma:If you’ve been doing anything else (whether freelancing, volunteering, etc.) alongside your studies that you can include on your CV to cover the period you started your second undergraduate programme, I’d suggest skipping the second undergrad entirely. But if you don’t have anything else to show, then go ahead and include it. Just make sure to add a cover letter explaining why you’re dropping out and choosing to pursue further studies abroad. Caveat: I’m no expert, so take my advice with a pinch of salt. |
Is there anyone here who did their biometrics in Enugu and has received a decision from UKVI? It's been radio silence on my end, and I'm beginning to wonder if it's because of the centre (Enugu) or something like that. |
Arhmiee:Try switching browsers to see if that helps. I did mine on Google Chrome. Also, check to see if you need to select a specific date -- looks like you have to select a date before information regarding slots availability is displayed. |
Arhmiee:From your screenshot, it looks like you haven't selected the "Visa Type" -- whether standard or priority. Did mine in Enugu last week, and I didn't encounter any problem with appointment dates. |
elawazaki:Not 21st but 23rd July. No decision yet. |
Mimiano980:Great! I tried sending you a DM... |
