This thread is yet another reason why I once called Tinubu a blessing to Nigeria. Here, a member of the House confirms that despite his previous outburst, Tinubu did not see it as opposition. He did not see it as trying to bring down his government.

Instead, he viewed it as feedback—a deficiency in the system that someone had brought to his attention.

According to the house rep member, corrective steps have already been taken to address the issue.

Sometimes it is the people you employed to do that very job who end up failing at it. If my memory serves me right, the woman who was Minister of State for Finance was redeployed. The substantive minister resigned later.

No system is perfect. Every system undergoes continuous improvement to remove bottlenecks and enhance efficiency. Personally, as a human being, there’s a lot to learn from Tinubu. I wish I had his kind of temperament.

Even his media aides like Bwala and co have a lot to learn from Mr President.

How much is reasonable to send retired parents monthly for food in Nigeria?

For those of you supporting your parents back home, how much do you normally send them every month specifically for feeding?

My mum and dad are both retired and receive their pensions. They live in their own house in Ilorin, so no rent involved. Thankfully, no sickness or regular medication expenses either.

I’m mainly trying to work out a realistic monthly amount for food for just the two of them — normal groceries, rice, beans, meat, fish, vegetables, cooking ingredients etc.

With the current prices of food in Nigeria, what would you consider reasonable for two retired people per month?

₦100k? ₦150k? ₦200k? More?

I know everyone’s situation is different, but I’d like to hear from people who actually support their parents or know what two people currently spend on feeding in Nigeria.

This terrible act of children bearing their biological father's name as surname in Nigeria started with Millennials, and it is a very shameful thing culturally. Most of us do not understand the importance or significance of surnames. Surnames are not just names for the sake of it.

A surname is a way or medium of honouring your ancestor. Africans, over the years have been brainwashed by the western culture that our ancestors evil spirits. Due to this, many Africans attach evil to the name 'ancestor'.

Culturally in Africa, surnames are adopted in turns. You adopt your grandfather's name as your surname, and when you give birth, your child adopts your father's name as surname. When your own child gives birth, the child adopts your own name as surname. That is how it goes and that is how lineage are honoured and preserved.

Millennials and Gen Z Nigerians now give their children their names as surnames without any atom of respect for their fathers, thereby cutting off their fathers from the lineage. If you so much cherish your name, you can give it to one of your child and has Jnr attached to it. People do it. But not cutting off your own father from the lineage by making your kids adopt your own name as their surname. It is bad and alien to the African culture.

Do not be fooled by the white culture which wants you to believe that African ancestors connote evil. To be ancestor na turn by turn. One day, you too go be ancestor.

And in most cases will look like you're walking with your younger sister

Advantages are, she's cute. Easy to carry, fun to be with, most short ladies are very clingy to their man, also very loyal

Will you let her go if you really like her just because of her height?

I do know, my husband also doesn't like wigs and I too never liked them, I've only worn a wig once in my lifetime when I was a bridesmaid and immediately removed it after the wedding reception... I've also never worn weaves before and even if one day I eventually do, I'd probably opt for those clip on weaves just to give my natural hair some volume when I go out and remove them upon returning back home.

In fact, it baffles me how African women are able to survive under those wigs in this blazing hot African weather.

If you have genuinely built enough wealth to casually give away a property worth ₦400,000,000, you wouldn’t describe such an amount as insignificant. ₦400,000,000 is a huge sum of money, especially in a country like Nigeria where millions of people struggle to meet their basic needs.
Sometimes, the way people talk about money reveals more than the money itself.

I have been to Kano severally for work and leisure and also Lagos, many people in Kano are moving to Lagos and you have a lot of almost empty Local government areas and communities in Kano which you can't find in Lagos as everywhere is fully occupied bumper to bumper,
the claim that Kano is more populated than Lagos is just a political statement, this is why politicians from Kano have always resisted biometric census that will expose it's real population which is no where comparable to Lagos.

Rent price is driven by demand and supply. Once you limit rent price, you will limit supply. Investors will priortize build to sell and not build to rent. Easy way to fix it is for government to build 1,000 flats per year in prime areas and let it at reasonable prices, once demand falls, rent will fall too. The solution is simply build more houses. After they limit rent, next is to limit cement price and iron price and labour charges.

What is the difference between this two Vaseline because the price differs.

Though I usually buy the one of N3500 so one day I wanted to buy again so I went to the shop I use to buy my groceries but they didn't have it, so I asked why they didn't have it, only for the lady to tell me that they have that they just brought and they haven't put it on their shelf for display, so she then went to bring it for me, only for me to ask how much was it because my mind was fixed for the usual N3500 I do pay before, then she said N13000 ( the one on the left), I was thinking she was joking but she insisted that it was the real price, she said there are two different types. Vaseline N13000 !!!
Please who have used this vaseline before? And please what is the difference? I heard there is America made vaseline and there is Nigeria made vaseline .....

I stopped treatment because they where too expensive.

I got tested around late February this year and the results came positive.

From all indications, it something I caught up from birth. Though, In fact, I wouldn't have known I have it if I had not gone for test to fulfil an employment requirement.

The only symptom I have is the lost of appetite. I hope to go do the test again this coming month
