REQUIREMENTS FOR NYSC CAMPING PERIOD.(ALL YOU NEED TO CARRY)

Hello PCMs.
From all of us at Corpa,
We're wishing you a stress_free camping.
Some of us never had this opportunity that Corpa now offers.
We just had to carry everything and anything that we felt like.
But with Corpa, we've got you covered.
Below are some of the requirements you need in camp, from registration/paper aspect to your comfortability.

1. Authentic Student ID Card – (Original and photocopies)

2.Certificate /Statement of Result from your School (Original and 6 Photocopies). If you are a Medical Doctor, Pharmacist or an Optometrist, you will be expected to carry along original of your registration certificate with the Nigerian Medical Council, Pharmacist Board or Optometrist Registration Council and evidence of completion of housemanship or internship.

3:Green card (original and at least 5 photocopies)

4. NYSC Call-up letter (Original and 6 photocopies)

5:Recent Passport Photographs –(8 copies)

6: Compulsory medical certificate from a government or military hospital, showing health status.
Going to camp with the above listed documents and items will get you through your registration up to the point of collection of mattress and your NYSC KIT.

Now we're done with all you need to get through paper work/registration.
Unto your comfortability in camp.

1. ROUND-NECKED WHITE T-SHIRTS : This is an essential outfit worn everyday in camp throughout your 3 weeks.

2. WHITE SHORTS: NYSC would give 2 pairs of shorts, but you may need extra 2 pairs so you won't be stranded because you wouldn’t be able to wash daily.

3. PLAIN WHITE TENNIS SHOES/ WHITE SOCKS: It’s advisable you get one pair of rubber shoe to save yourself from stress alongside leather tennis shoes.

4. BEVERAGES/PROVISIONS: The truth is some people may not like camp food especially the supposed tea and bread as they serve watery tea with enough sugar. So you may need Beverages like peak milk, Milo, Golden Morn, Corn flakes, Quaker Oats, sugar, Biscuit etc.

5. TOILETRIES: Bathing and washing soaps, antiseptics, insecticides, towel, sanitary pads, this is essential to keep you from infections and skin reactions.

6. MOSQUITO NET: Take along with a rope to tie it to your bunk to avoid malaria.

7. CASH: Atleast 15,000 with your ATM card. There are many other things that take up money in camp like food, charging of phones, e.t.c

8. WAIST POUCH: This is very essential. It serves as your bank and locker for important items. Things like phones, money, ID card, keys, ATM cards are kept in there.

9. TORCHLIGHT OR RECHARGEABLE LAMPS: In preparation for morning drills at 5am and at night after lights out, you will need them.

10. PADLOCKS: please lock your boxes and bags to avoid regrets. People have lost things to thieves due to carelessness.

You may also like to carry other things like bed sheets, Pillow cases, Pillow, Power bank,pain relief drugs, antibiotics etc.

Corpa is a platform strictly targeted at Nigerian youth corpers. According to the founder, Emmanuel Akpe, the platform aims to solve the pressing challenges of corps members before, during and after their service year.

Emmanuel Akpe (CEO), together with Prince Anayo (COO) and Joseph Emeka (CTO) launched Corpa on July 1, 2017.
On the platform, corps members can purchase camp kits, get accommodation, book transport options and get extra jobs. Corpa also provides a forum for interaction, news update, and trading of properties used during service year.
Asides these, the platform aims to alleviate the stress of finding deployed locations with its map feature. Hence, corp members get directions and navigate through their newly posted areas easily. “It’s a one stop shop for all corps members needs,” Emmanuel told Techpoint.

Thoughts
Since inception in 1973, the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) has been an adventure most Nigerian University graduates look forward to. However, it hasn’t been without some peculiar challenges. They range from getting good accommodation to navigating unknown areas and more. Therefore, if Corpa could deliver on its value proposition, many corp members will surely be relieved and probably, have a more interesting adventure.

Printing of call up letters starts on Friday 21st July

NYSC has finally released the date for the orientation exercise of Batch A stream 2. The exercise is scheduled to begin on the 26th of July to the 15th of August 2017.
This was contained in an update on the NYSC official timetable for Batch A.
You will recall that Batch A stream 1 were in camp on the 23rd of May and it terminated on the 12th of June.
Earlier today, corpa reported how NYSC debunked all fake information about the stream 2 camp details.
