Educational ServicesNYSC Name Correction: Everything You Need To Know (2026 Guide) by CorperHelper(op): 10:09am On Mar 15
One of the most common issues upcoming corpers face is seeing the wrong name on their NYSC dashboard after registration 😩
It feels small at first but trust me with NYSC, name issues are never small. The name on your dashboard determines your call-up letter, your camp documentation and eventually your discharge certificate. That's the real problem everyone tries to avoid.

Here's what The Creative Rose Studio wants you to know 👇🏽
There are 3 types of name errors:
1) Spelling mistakes a wrong or missing letter. These are the easiest to fix directly on your dashboard
2)Wrong name arrangement your names are correct but in the wrong order. Also fixable on the dashboard
3)Missing or extra names this is the most complicated. NYSC will NOT let you add or remove names on the dashboard. Only your school's Student Affairs Officer can fix this

How to correct your name on the NYSC portal:
Log in at portal.nysc.org.ng
Click the Name Correction link below your passport photo
Select spelling correction or name rearrangement
Enter the correct details and submit
Wait for manual review this can take a few days to weeks

Important things to know:
✅ Apply for correction IMMEDIATELY after registration don't wait till camp
✅ Name correction is FREE NYSC does not charge for this
✅ If your correction is still pending you can still go to camp they will process it there
❌ You CANNOT correct your name after camp registration it gets locked in
What about JAMB and WAEC names?

NYSC uses the name your school submitted on the senate list not JAMB or WAEC. So differences on those documents usually don't affect your registration as long as your school submitted correctly.

Got a name issue? Drop your question in the comments and I'll help you figure it out 👇🏽

NYSCIf You Are Experiencing The Error Message: by CorperHelper(op): 9:25am On Mar 13
If you are experiencing the error message:

“ *No details found. Please, confirm that your details are correct. Ensure your school provided correct details.”*

Kindly follow these steps:

• Close the current tab.
• Revisit the National Youth Service Corps portal.
• Untick the “Refresh NIMC” option.
• Try the process again after some time.

This issue is mostly due to temporary system glitches. If your details are correctly uploaded by your school, it should work after trying again.

Stay calm and keep trying.
NYSCNYSC Portal Confusing You? Here's What Every Step Actually Means by CorperHelper(op): 6:58pm On Mar 07
One of the most common things I hear from upcoming corpers is this:

"I don't even understand what I'm supposed to do on the portal."

And honestly? That's completely valid. The NYSC portal is not the most user friendly experience and nobody properly explains what each step means.

So let me break it down simply:
Senate List — This is the list your school submits to NYSC confirming you have graduated. Your name must appear here before anything else can happen.

Mobilization/Registration — Once your name is on the senate list you register on the portal at corps.gov.ng and fill in your personal details, upload documents and indicate your place of choice.

Call-Up Letter — After registration is approved NYSC assigns you a camp state and issues your call-up letter. This tells you where to go and when to report.

PCM — Place of Choice of Mobilization. You can request a preferred state but NYSC has the final say on where you're posted.

PPA — Primary Place of Assignment. This is where you'll work for 11 months after camp. You get posted here after the 3 week orientation.

CDS — Community Development Service. This is your weekly group activity where corpers work together on projects in the community.

Allawee — Your monthly government stipend of #77,000 paid directly to you during service year.

Discharge Certificate —The certificate you receive at the end of your service year. This is one of the most important documents of your career guard it with your life.
NYSCWhy Most Corpers Struggle At Camp And How To Avoid It by CorperHelper(op): 6:52pm On Mar 07
If you're mobilizing soon, please read this.
I see it every year.

Bright, hardworking
graduates show up to camp completely unprepared not because they're careless but because nobody actually sat them down and explained what NYSC involves.
Your school didn't explain it. Your parents probably did NYSC in a different era. And the people who just finished? They're too busy with their own lives to give you a full breakdown.

So you arrive at camp gate with the wrong items, missing documents, no idea what CDS means, confused about your PPA and already stressed before the real journey even begins.

Here are 5 things most corpers wish they knew before camp:
Your plain white shorts and vest must have zero logos or designs they will send you back or punish you on the first day
Take more cash than you think you need the first week especially has a lot of unexpected expenses
Your call-up letter alone is not enough have your credentials, passport photos and ID ready
Camp is only 3 weeks but your PPA posting lasts 11 months start thinking about it early
Your allawee is ₦77,000 per month have a plan for it before it hits your account or it will disappear fast
These are just 5. There are so many more things nobody tells you.
NYSCNYSC Camp Is Closer Than You Think Are You Actually Ready? by CorperHelper(op): 9:40am On Mar 06
If you're mobilizing soon, this post is for you.
When I got my call-up letter I felt excited and terrified at the same time 😅 I had so many questions and nobody gave me straight answers.
What do I pack? How does the portal work? What happens if my name is wrong? How much money do I need? What is CDS? What happens after camp?
I was googling everything and still felt lost.
So after my service year I sat down and found everything I wish someone had told me from registration all the way to post-NYSC planning all in one book. In plain English. No jargon.

Here are 3 things most people don't know before camp:
Your call-up letter alone is not enough at the camp gate have your other documents ready
Your white shorts and vest must be plain no logos or designs or you'll be punished 😂
Take more cash than you think you need the first week especially

Drop your questions below and I'll answer them here too 😊
NYSCRe: Delay In NYSC Change Of Name by CorperHelper: 9:28am On Mar 06
Vicogrin:
Good morning my fellow Nlanders

Please a friend of mine registered for NYSC sometime late last year. She had issues with her name (The name on her school certificate not same with what she registered with on NYSC)
So she Applied for name correction. But ever since that time till this moment it's still displayed "being reviewed".
Please how do we go about it.
I would be expecting helpful feedbacks.

Thank you and have a great day my people 😁
This is actually very common and frustrating 😅
Here's what she should do:
Get an affidavit from a court of law confirming both names belong to her ( it might be required for more verification)

Visit the NYSC state secretariat physically with the affidavit + school certificate
speak with any officer there they will give you more direction on what to do

Follow up every few days "being reviewed" rarely resolves itself without physical presence
The secretariat responds faster to people who show up in person than online requests.
