My cousin just told me last night that she just got raped on Sunday afternoon/evening (6th July, 2025).

I stay with them for now. She's 18, the first of two daughters and was still virgin (as far as I know). Her only [older] brother is in school.

She's been acting funny since on Sunday evening. She couldn't hold it in anymore and, since there is no one else she could actually confide in, she confided in me. Now she's begging me not to tell anyone and not to cause trouble. She only wants me to help her get a drug (if any) that will prevent pregnancy.

She told me about the man coming to see her in her mother's restaurant and said she was going to talk to the man about getting me a job, but when she went into his car, he forced himself on her.

Honestly I am angry right now! I am angry at three things:

First, I am angry at my family. I have a family where the children are afraid to open up, because if you do, you will be blamed and castigated upon. I understand her fear and apprehension about letting other people know, but I just can't let this go.

Secondly, I am angry at our society. How can a man confidently feels he can force himself on a lady and get away with it? What kind of society do we have?

Thirdly, I am angry at myself. I am angry because I feel helpless. I can't let this thing go. I have to deal with this man, but I don't know how to do it without putting my cousin in a difficult position. I have tried to let her know that it is not her fault and that the man needs to pay for this, but she's been begging me to just let it go. She only confided in me because she's really scared of getting pregnant.

According to her though, there was never any real penetration, but the man (who is a high ranking government official) actually "released" ON her, not IN her. (Does that even make sense?)
How can I handle this issue right now? For me, I am planning to go all out and let hell break loose and let the heavens fall if they have to.

I think you better free them, because she came to report and also telling you not to escalate it, again was actually trying to use her influence to get a job for you, a girl with such ideas you say she's 18 years, I'm not sure she told you all about her and the man, don't let your actions put you into trouble.

The least you can do is maybe inform the mother.or you think the mother is not seeing their affection for each other? Don't be surprised you would be told not to come and put Sand for our Garri

Nairaland members, I sincerely want to ask, Have you ever been wrongly accused of sexually harassing and abusing someone?
As a teacher, have you ever been accused of sexually abusing your student?
I only watch such in the movies, I only read and hear about such cases. But little did I know that I would be a victim one day.

Firstly, Who is a teacher?.
A teacher, by default, is meant to be a Coach, a role model and mentor. A teacher should be a Moralist, at least. As a teacher, there are places I wouldn't go to. There are people I shouldn't be seen associating with, there are things I shouldn't be seen doing or consuming because I have my students who are looking up to me
In March this year, I encountered the most trying moment of my entire life. I was down completely. The impact of the accusation still live in my head and it affects me psychologically and mentally.
An SS2 female student went home to tell her mum that I sexually abused her, by touching her breasts and private part(vagina). And I did so repeatedly until she got fed up after weeks and decided to report to her mum. She even said I invited her to my house and since she refused coming, I started harassing and victimizing her. And that I asked her out, but she turned me down.
One fateful morning, while I was conducting the assembly, the mum of same student drove into the school and started shouting on top of her voice wanting to see and attack me. Her daughter pointed at me on the assembly and this woman came & began to insult me, and even held me by the neck. I had not seen such embarrassment until that day. My colleagues came and intervened. Other students were shocked to hear what the woman was saying. I could see the sadness in the students' faces. I was dumbfounded. I felt like the ground should open and swallow me. The shame was too much to bear. This is a school I have worked for years, managing my life until something better would come up.
My Director and other mgt staff were called upon, and we had a panel of judges. The woman narrated everything her daughter told her about me. Nothing was True. Nothing as such ever happened between me and her daughter or anyone else. I was shocked to hear all the allegations levelled against me. I stood up, defended myself and even carried the bible to swear.
To my shock, three of her(female student) friends came in to testify against me. No colleague of mine was able to defend me. Only one colleague stood up to defend me completely. The woman almost slapped me when I tried defending myself.
At the end of proceedings, the woman threatened to withdraw her daughter and two other children from the sch. And even the daughter's friends threatened to leave the sch if I didn't leave. As a result, my employer terminated my appointment without even paying me for that month which I had worked. But as I was about to exit the sch premises, I pulled of my shoes, put my feet on the ground and swore that God vindicates me. I challenged God to reveal the truth.
Just last week, I was told the girl had been sick for three months now & no doctor has been Able to detect what the problem is. She can no longer go to sch, can even eat or walk without support. Shes now confined to her bed. She was taken to a Prayer house and the Pastor there revealed that she must confess and seek forgiveness from me before she can get healed. The woman called the sch, and the sch called me to please come. My number was sent to the woman and she's been calling, but I'm not picking. My former employer even came to my house last week Friday and Saturday, but didn't meet me at home.
I asked former employer why the girl had to lie against me for no reason. And according to my employer, the girl and her friends said it because I discipline students a lot and they don't like me for doing that, so they needed to get me out of the way. That was just the reason.
As for the sch, I will never go back there. Thank goodness I wasn't accused of theft. Next could be worse.
Till date, I'm still bitter and pained, I find it hard forgiving her. I have always stayed away from trouble. But this one really touched and pierced my soul and it's difficult for me to just forgive.

I read few lines my mind just forsaw what could have happened, though i still had to complete it.

1) You do things to extreme end without considering pains and body language of others- hence, she decided to accuse you. I don't know why some teachers are like that, years back I have heard student collapsed as a result of flogging by teacher.

2) You're finding it difficult to forgive, meanwhile, it's seriously needed right now, still, the same character of over doing things is playing out again! .

3) The girls was childish and doesn't understand the implications of her act, the best she could think of, is accusations, which is every bad of her.

4) Finally, you need to work on your character because it contributed to the dilemma you found yourself, considered the reason for the accusations is because of your esseses, as agin shown by your statement ( Difficult to Forgive).

You got it wrong, in a normal situation both supposed to work together, but Wike's ego didn't allow such to happen, he keep bringing in controversy.

For example; the role he is playing between APC and PDP is it normal? Have you ever observed this in the world? Doing things like flying aircraft without pilot nor remote.

It's even too much, but still ok compared to that tribe that collect so much up to 95% above what they invested on their daughter, the worst ones are the those who couldn't even train their daughter., still asked higher amount.

If President made it back (which is already 50/50) he should thank God because Wike's attitudes actually spoit things for him. Wike shows that current administration is not for all Nigerians , that is the body language and would affect this administration second chance.

Our relationship just ticked the 1yrs 3months mark. I told him at the beginning that I’d love for him to propose to me b4 we start getting intimate as most relationships built on intimacy don’t last. He agreed. But as we get along, we eventually started having sex even tho it’s not how I pictured it. But I had to because I didn’t want him to leave.

At the start of this year, I made a resolution to stop giving in to sex and see how much affections he has for me looking at the fact that he’s not even asked me to be his wife. It’s always promise here and there.

If he initiated it, I always find an excuse..and most times he convinced me and I’ll give in. I won’t lie I know it’s hard because he’s had to initiate a couple of time which I denied and he’ll mostly beg and assure me of his commitment to our relationship.

However, I noticed since the beginning of the month of May, he’s stopped showing concerns. When he asked And I said no to sex, he will just say “ohh okay” and then sleep if it’s night time or pick his phone and off to gym. Nowadays he doesn’t even initiate anything nor ask for it. I asked him if he’s okay and he told me “he’s having some heavy back pain due to his recent workout routines” but I know he’s lying. He’s always like sex even after workout.

My intuition says he’s cheating and my friend confirmed same since her last relationship also ended the same way.

Tbh, I’d just stop getting worried about this and stop asking him since he’s decided to keep mute.

You don't need to concludes he is cheating, it's obvious he is getting tired of begging , if he still taken care of you it means the love is still there. Otherwise he wouldn't honour any request for favor from you as a way of retaliation

You really need to submit yourself for the relationship to work, and do away with fear that he may leave if he had enough of you. After all, there is nothing without risk, we only hope and pay that secceed

Things to note before the usual emotional tribe get their hopes high:

South West- There's no state Atiku can get up to 10% of the votes.

South South- There is no state as presently constituted, that Atiku can get up to 10% of votes cast.

South East: There is not state here, Atiku will see up to 10% of the votes cast.

NORTH Central; With the exception of Taraba and Niger states( Where Atiku can get up to 25% of the votes) there is nothing for him in this Zone.
