Summer Course in Digital Library Management @ ElizadeUniversity


The aim of the course is to deliver an intensive practical oriented and hands-on based course in emerging digital skills to librarians and anyone interested in the modern digital economy.

The course is necessitated by the inadequate ICT-skilled manpower in the Nigerian Library sector as compared to what is obtainable in developed countries. This research-based fact is further verified by our recent survey where we found that 73.8% of Nigerian librarians indicated that they are not satisfied with their ICT skills.

In proper situations, an average librarian, not necessarily those in Systems unit, should be able to handle digital tasks as installation and management of open source software, digitization, website development, data analytics and so on.
