From my experience, you don't lose the date. After searching for a new date and don't see something suitable, just close to the tab.

Can I lose my date while trying to amend?

Any way to check dates in the various VACs before committing to one?

Well, this happened to me this morning, I actually lost my old date, like in my dashboard what was written was no date selected.
I had to book the new date afresh


If it's a glitch or a new method, I don't know. I'm just saying what happened to me.

So yeah, I lost my old date before I could book a new one.
