Harbioollah:You should be happy it is cheap in akure. In lagos, that same room of 90k you will pay agreement 30k or more and commission 30k or more. Agents are not the one pegging these fees my brother, its the landlord's lawyer so its better to find out details before posting on a forum like this. Agreement fee(12,500) goes to the landlord and commission(12,500) is for the lawyer(and lawyer gives any agent who brings a tenant part of this fee). In a situation where there is no lawyer, the principal agent or group of agents share the commission fee. So no one is heartless or do you intend to work for someone and not get returns for your labour. We only make good money from property sales not rental fees(which is peanuts) and without agents or lawyers you can never secure good accommodation. Its also risky to pay rent to a landlord directly because when you run into problems with the landlord, it is the lawyer or agent you paid to that will protect your interest so be wise... Because of you I am going to create a thread to enlighten nairaland members of the benefits of consulting a real estate agent to secure accommodation... Note: I also paid this fee(agreement and commission) to my landlord/lawyer... |

Buhari has said he will work with the new senate president yet tinubu openly declared he won't recognise saraki just because he wasnt endorsed by the party. What exactly is wrong with this man. He imposed oyegun as national chairman, he chose osinbajo as VP, now senate president. Tinubu you can't always have your way and you are not God...
