A candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Edo state, Dennis Idahosa, has said that the candidacy of Atiku Abubakar for the Peoples Democratic Party will give President Muhammadu Buhari an edge at the 2019 poll.Idahosa who is contesting for the Ovia federal constituency, said the PDP made a mistake giving its ticket to Atiku. He disclosed this while commenting on the chances of President Buhari against the PDP presidential candidate. He noted that, unlike Buhari, Atiku puts more confidence in money than integrity.
“What is giving him [Buhari] the edge more than others is that the PDP made a blunder by giving their ticket to somebody who has so much confidence in money, instead of integrity and morality.“Atiku Abubakar is someone who had served the country as a Vice President and we all saw the high level of corruption and injustice that characterised the administration during their tenure and we cannot again afford and entrust the sensitive position of President of the country into the hands of such person.I believe if it was somebody else that has credibility and integrity, PDP would have had a little bit of chance. But President Muhammadu Buhari is a man of integrity, a man that has fought insecurity in the country and willing to bring Nigeria to the next level. Every human being has his or her faults, no one is perfect. I believe Nigeria is in safe hands with Buhari and we will get to the next level with Buhari,” Idahosa said.

Spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Presidential Campaign Council, Mr Festus Keyamo (SAN), says the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is not a threat to re-election of his master by Nigerians in the 2019 elections.

NAN reports that Mr. Keyamo made the claim on Thursday during the inauguration of the Women and Youths Wing of the APC Presidential Campaign Team in Abuja.

However, he called on APC supporters to intensify efforts towards ensuring that the party recorded massive victory at the polls.

“ They are no longer a threat to President Muhammadu Buhari because their effort is collapsing. They have more than four hundred groups but the groups are now dropping on weekly basis.

“ It clearly shows that they cannot function without public funds and they discovered that it is no longer business as usual,” he said.

Keyamo also said that the opposition party has been disseminating false information to tarnish the image of President Buhari which would not help them at the polls.

Also speaking, the former Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, commended the role of Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari for galvanizing support for the re-election of the President.

Abba assured the President of their determination to mobilise women and youths to ensure victory in the 2019 elections.
