I am a Nigerian, passionate about Nigeria and the growth of Nigeria. I am very well aware that agriculture is an integral sector for the sustainable growth and development of any society. I have come to realise that many Nigerians do not like farming, do not like to produce, but rather want to consume. Sadly, we cannot grow this way as a country, and even more sadly, unemployed and underemployed Nigerians still do not see agriculture as an option. How bad if you ask me.

Growing up as a kid, farming was something I really enjoyed doing. I was actively involved in the cultivation of beans, corn, groundnut and potatoes. Several times, produce from the small farm in my family compound saved us from hunger. In the mornings, I will stroll to the farm at the back of the house, harvest some potatoes, go to the kitchen, wash the potatoes, peel off the back, wash it, fry it, and breakfast is served!

Right now, due to the nature of my work, I cannot directly be involved in farming, no matter how hard I try. As a result, I have thought to support (by investment) local farmers who are highly passionate about agriculture (prefereably someone with a degree in the Agricultural sciences or related field) and has some experience in agriculture. A degree in agriculture may not be needed if the person can prove that they have at least 3 years of continuous experience in agriculture.

If you are (or if you know anyone who is) highly interested in agriculture (whatever type - but prefarably cocoa, rubber, palm oil, diary, or similar high value agro products), kindly invite them to this thread. They should say what they are currently doing, provide pictures of their farm if possible, and say why they need investment in their business.

Modified:
1) I am interested in funding a young person interested in agriculture.
2) I am not interested in funding an already established company or corporation.
3) My target is young entrepreneurial Nigerians with interest in agriculture.
4) I am not interested in someone who is actively seeking some other form of employment - who will abandon the farm when they get a job somewhere.
5) I am not interested in funding someone who is actively making plans to migrate from Nigeria and abandon their farm.
6) Previous nairaland posts showing interest in agriculture will be an added advantage.
7) Women are encouraged.

Extra:
If interested, kindly share your profile, and pictures of your farm (if you have).

TheBillyonaire:
Are you honest? I want to assume that you nairalanders are either too removed from reality or just kids. How much is the price of a used car?

You hardly see a good used car at less than 15m naira. Are you saying a woman that will love you and give birth to your kids that are raised by their parents in this bad economy will be given out to you at cheap cos it is supposed to be free?

When you all raise, train and educate your little girls, you can give them to men who are not worth shit. If a man does not know the value of a woman, he can as well be gay.
If na me let them keep her! Person no the marry woman one day, after the wedding some things will still come up that he will contribute for. If na me any time they ask for assistance I will tell them to remove it from the 3.5 mil

InvestmentDon’t Let Your Money Sit In The Bank Idle, Deprecating To The Dollar Everyday by Cropstorage(op): 11:37am On Nov 12, 2024
I don’t have the capital right now but I can proudly let you know business in Agriculture and real estate in certain towns you can make so much money from.

1) if you have any money you not going to be using anytime soon, I will advise you to invest in some crops that will grow your capital in profit than any bank interest rate in Nigeria. Crops that you can buy during this harvest season and make 200-400% profit in less than six month.
It is predicted that there will be a food crisis in Nigeria in 2025. The big players in Nigeria do this every year, they buy this cash crops and store them creating a scarcity for this crops and driving up prices. It’s an easy process, I will guide you through this process from crop selection to storage and sales, my expertise ensure you success.

2) for real estate I know locations you can buy land from 3-7 million and build student hostels or a small guest house of about 12-20 rooms and make at least 4-10million every month. This locations are within certain state capitals in Nigeria with very cheap labour and less capital to achieve this.

My commission: A very small percentage.
Your profit my reward. Let’s grow your wealth together!

AgricultureHarvest Huge Profits: Invest In This High-yielding Crops! by Cropstorage(op): 1:21pm On Oct 22, 2024
The harvest season is here this a great opportunity for those who have some money sitting in the bank ideal or have the capability to access capital to buy this high- Yielding crops, store them and sell off in 4-7 months time. By this time the price would have gone up 100-300% in profits depending on the time it was sold.( currently a bag of 100kg Soyabeans that was sold at 35k during the last harvest season is currently sold at 120-150k presently depending on the location you bought).
I will be letting you know crops that you should buy now and store so you could make huge profits on and the location you can get them from, at the best rate in Nigeria

*Groundnut: groundnut is one of the most important seeds in the food chain industry in Nigeria, it is used for various purposes, it refined and made used to the last product in making snacks and animal feed. Groundnuts are planted early in the year around April that’s when the raining season starts but this year the raining season started poorly and it affect harvest. The low quality of moisture in the soil resulted to low yield in harvest. Groundnut will be scarce this year due to this factor, so if you can buy groundnut now and store I guarantee you, you will make so much profit.

Maize: This year most maize plantation were attacked by a certain fungi that affected harvest yield greatly in high numbers. Maize is also an important food product for both human and animal food. If one can buy this in high volumes and store to sell later next year I can assure you much profit and there will always be buyers. You don’t need to source for buyers.

Egusi: Egusi is a very important crop too, it made use of all over Nigeria. This is also the right time to buy Egusi for storage, prices are low now. You can make 200-300% profit with this.

The location I recommend you buy this crops from is Benue state, prices here are affordable and there are lots of village markets where u can get it cheaper. If it’s going to be the first timing going to this market make sure you get someone who has a deep knowledge on how the markets works to identify the following
*the right size of sack
*good seeds
*market prices and many more

I will be updating you all on more crops to buy as the harvest goes on
