It was about a year ago Olamide threw open shots at the Hip-Hop community about his grandeur status as a rapper in Nigeria.
“When… anybody wants to talk about rapper or whatever, go shutdown Eko Hotel first…” , the Hip-Hop artiste boas ted and dared his rap contemporaries in November 2015 on his song
‘Eyan Mayweather’, having been the only rapper that had achieved the feat, twice.
Well, with nobody being able to attempt such, (veteran Hip-Hop act M.I came a bit close – but with major help from show partner 2face Idibia), Olamide did it again 365 days later but this time it was different – way different.
The YBNL boss along with his label mates and a ‘few’ friends brought a full onslaught to Eko Hotel and Suites, as Lagosians emptied their houses and came out in the thousands to witness baddo’s glory on Boxing Day.
After another incredible year, the respected rapper and crossover-commercial act ended 2016 with another brilliant live concert, as he marked the release of his sixth album ‘The Glory’ which had dropped earlier in the morning.

The former inspector general of police Solomon Arase has been accused of stalling late Bola Ige’s murder trial

The former inspector general of police Solomon Arase, has been accused of stalling late Bola Ige’s murder trial
The son of the late attorney general of the federation Muyiwa Ige has revealed fresh details on the murder of his father Bola.
Muyiwa, who is the past commissioner of lands and physical development in Osun state, accused the former inspector general of police Solomon Arase of frustrating the investigation and murder trial of his father.
Speaking on a radio programme on Rave FM in Osogbo, Muyiwa said his family would not rest until those who killed his father face justice.
Noting that Arase was one of the investigating officers during the murder trial of Bola, Muyiwa said, it is sad that after 15 years; trial on the murder of his father is yet to reach a logical conclusion.
He said: “The immediate past IGP had made a statement a couple of years back that unless they have new evidence there was nothing they could do. But when I heard that, what I thought was that it might be a diversionary tactic.”
“The immediate past IGP was one of the investigating officers during the trial (of Ige’s murder) they know the intricacies of how they botched the evidence of the case.
“We are hopeful that something will be done. It is the responsibility of everybody to ensure that justice is done,” Muyiwa said.

He added that Bola’s wife, Atinuke, who was a judge at that time, died within 20 months of his father’s death.
The former commissioner said it remains the responsibility of the state to prosecute the perpetrators of the act.
He also added that the Ige’s family have organized a memorial lecture slated for next week.
He said speakers at the event will include renowned lawyer festus Keyamo.
He said the lawyer will possible reveal more details on his father’s death.
However, in response to Muyiwa’s allegation, Arase denied stalling the trial of the former attorney general.
He said he did not hide the late Bola Ige’s file as the matter was being handled by the attorney general of the federation.
“The case file was not with me, it was with the Attorney General who was prosecuting the case. The AGF was prosecuting the case and the file was with him, I couldn’t have hid what was not in my custody,” Arase said.
Earlier in an interview, the daughter of the late attorney general of the federation Funsho Adegbola-Ige had said that her father’s death was a waste.

According to reports, a lecturer at the Kogi state university slapped a female student into unconsciousness.
The lecturer identified as Mr A A Zubairu, who is said to also head the Computer Science department of the school, was said to have slapped the female student who fainted and had to be rushed to the hospital when she didn’t wake up immediately.

Self-acclaimed Zimbabwe Bishop, Andrew Mnkandla sent to jail for raping and impregnating a teenager.
The 41-year-old Bishop identified as, Andrew Mnkandla and his 34-year-old brother Lovemore, a pastor at the church, held the victim hostage at his house and raped her on different occasions. They threatened that if she told anyone, the demons they had exorcised from her would return with scores of others to haunt her.
The court heard he went to the teen’s mother with his wife and tried to bribe her so that she convinces her daughter to change her statement in court. Mnkandla had pleaded not guilty to multiple counts of rape before a magistrate, Chrispen Mberewere.

A 59-year-old HIV positive man, Monday Ekpade, has been arrested by the Delta state police command for sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl in Agbor.

Abuja based music producer, Manpi Okune, has died at the age of 28 years.
According to his friends, Manpi who is a graduate of the University of Calabar, died on Wednesday September 21st after complaining of stomach ache.
He had been diagnosed of chronic ulcer few weeks ago and was treated but suffered a relapse on Wednesday.
He was said to have suddenly started stooling and vomiting blood and was rushed to a hospital in Gwagwalada, Abuja where he died.

A new born baby with 31 fingers and toes but no thumbs on either palm, is set to undergone the first of three surgical operations to correct his rare birth abnormalities.
An 8-month-old Chinese baby nicknamed Yuanyuan, who was born with 15 fingers and 16 toes (31 digits in total) as well as without thumbs or big toes, is set to undergo a corrective surgery as medical doctors are in the process of removing the extra digits and reshaping the child’s remaining digits over three stages of operations.
The baby’s digits whose family are from Hunan Province in southern China, are asymmetrical meaning that they will need to be reshaped, as doctors say that the surgery will be long and a long period of recovery will be needed once the operations are complete.
It was learnt that the child’s mother was also born with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot.
According to Dailymail, Doctor Xu Jihai from No 6 Ningbo Hospital told reporters that the baby’s surgery will be completed in three phases.
The first phase involves removing the toes and ensuring that the child is able to walk. Once that is finished, the second phase involves making thumbs for the infant and removing additional fingers.
While the third would completely reshape the child’s fingers. Once the phases are finished, there will be enough time for Yuanyuan to recover before starting school.
