After the occupy ojota protest I saw the collapse of the economy/currency coming. I took two steps, I moved my investment focus entirely out of the Naira and I setup a farm with the belief that food prices will drive inflation (and I was right). What I didn't see coming was that the violence which typically follows economic collapse would affect farmers as well.

This is me identifying what I over looked and moving on from it. Every human being is an architect of his own destiny and fortune. If you believe the government is bad come out on the street and protest whenever you see activists calling for protest. Join activist movements, defend your vote, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!

You cant sit down in poverty and be screaming that the government is bad and you are waiting for Jesus to come and save you. Look at what happens in other countries when their government messes up? small hardship and the streets are full!

People need to realize that they are the architect of their own fortune. I don't owe anybody poo and nobody owes me poo either.

People are just used to there comfort zone, the margin I was making in one of my line of business, I'm very sure 95% of businesses can never make that margin, it's risky as well but I have mastered it to the point that I have been able to neutralizes the risk which give me edge over any competitor in my territory but even at that, I still pulled out because I believed I wouldn't be able to sustain the reality on folding.

Even my blood sister is a victim of this reality, I told her, pull your money out of all these businesses right now or substantial part of it and deployed into capital markets for revaluation in real time, you can't keep up with 3x devaluation with physical business but she no gree, she gave me millions of reason why my idea does not make sense and I just melo.. just late last year she called me and allude to my fears and started asking about stocks.

Many lack knowledge while some does not want to test another idea because they are used to their comfort zones.

This is a fact, I'm a business guy too n I understand this reality as well but I was lucky to act fast in 2023 because I saw this coming, I discussed it with my immediate friends why I felt money should be move into stock market some followed the advice while some didn't. I can tell u that the once tht did not are facing a lot right now..its very hard for business out there.

Many were thinking if I moved most of the money to the stock what will I be doing, people will think something is wrong, so emotional n I reason with them, we can't all believe in the same thing because even the stock could go wrong..

Sugar price resilience today was second to none, dumpling meet accumulation bumper to bumper.

Aj8 logic work for me today, I wanted to take profit but I went to check the bids and offer and I see bumper to bumper competition between bids and offer, I just changed my mind.

I believed q2 results will look superb and the rally will be sustained looking at the trend of raw sugar price in the world.

That said, I still believe in the stocks that I posted a few weeks ago. One of them, Aradel, has already doubled since then.

Regarding Dangote Sugar, I think the stock will deliver at the right time. I agree that its debt is substantial and it currently has negative retained earnings. I believe 2025 results look like management may be intentionally keeping the share price low, for reasons best known to them.

Looking at the numbers, if they aim to turn the earnings positive which could drive up the price it achievable.

The rights issue has been announced with an immediate qualification date, followed by positive Q1 earnings. Let’s see how the market reacts going forward.

Also, based on the recent discussion here comparing NASCON and Dangote Sugar, if you look at their latest results side by side, Dangote Sugar’s metrics appear stronger. TA has been showing some good signs over the past few weeks.

Another stock to consider, if ethical considerations is not a factor, is NB.

For Nigeria to be a better place, it has to be run like individual companies by both the leaders and the followers. Personally, I don't even see any weakness from the Q1 2026 report, at least operationally. But I'm not an expert, so, I could be wrong.
Revenue actually grew by 7.5% YoY (Q1 2026: ₦100.86bn, Q1 2025: ₦93.79bn +7.5% YoY) and cost of sales improved slightly by -4.8% YoY.

The draw downs I see in the report are the FX loss (2026: ₦6.37bn loss) compared to a gain in 2025 (₦0.18bn gain) and the ballooned tax charge of ₦19.99bn compared to ₦11.03bn for Q1 2025. These are not items that should raise a red flag. So, I don't believe there is going to be a major pull back.

The concern on the slowing dividend payout must be put in the proper perspectives. With their recent acquisitions, PRESCO is moving into a scale-up mode and would rather put more money into the business at high Return On Invested Capital than paying everything out. I will be watching out for opportunities to add more if it really pulls back.

They slowed down on aggressive peanut dividend in the last two years n needed to go back in 2025 to clean the books for an excellent performance.

Based on that q1 results, presco can never go to full offer based on final dividend.

Did you even think for a moment on the latest acquisitions in that year. You didn't want to sacrifice anything for those growth.

Sell presco n buy gt or zenith since they can give you more in dividend but I'm sure they can't give you more in capital appreciation than presco with even the good dividends combined.
