Foreign-trained Nigerian graduates are required to provide their NYSC evaluation letter when doing their registration for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program. This article will show you how to request and get your NYSC evaluation letter as a foreign-trained graduate. What is an NYSC Evaluation Letter? It’s a letter that Nigerian students who graduated from institutions outside Nigeria (aka foreign-trained graduates) need to obtain from the Federal Ministry of Education to show that the institution and course they studied abroad are duly accredited by the government of that country. If your dashboard displays “you have not been evaluated yet” during NYSC online registration, it means you need to upload the evaluation letter. The NYSC management has made evaluation compulsory for foreign graduates, especially those who studied in other African countries. Why the NYSC Letter of Evaluation? Some tertiary institutions in Nigeria are banned from participating in NYSC because they lack accreditation from the National University Commission (NUC); as such, graduates from such institutions are not allowed to serve as some of those institutions could be operating illegally. There are also institutions operating illegally outside Nigeria, and the NYSC management aims to identify graduates from those fake foreign institutions. What is the JAMB Matriculation List The JAMB Matriculation List is an official document that confirms admission into a Nigerian tertiary institution through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). This is important because JAMB is the only authorized body for the process of admissions into Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. If your name is not on the matriculation list, it simply means your admission status is irregular and not recognized by JAMB. This disquafies you from participating in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program, which every Nigerian graduate is mandated to do. In other words, the JAMB matriculation list is a necessary condition by the NYSC that every Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) will have to meet before registering for the program. Why the JAMB Matriculation List is Important The most powerful weapon with which the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has chosen to fight academic fraud is the JAMB matriculation list. This necessitated the board to combine forces with NYSC as an effort to rid Nigeria of fraudulent graduates. So, should your name not be in this official record of admissions, JAMB will not recognize your claims of graduation, which means your NYSC registration will be automatically rejected. This translates to the fact that you cannot be awarded the NYSC discharge or exemption certificate, which is a prerequisite for any graduate in Nigeria. While foreign-trained graduates are exempt from the JAMB matriculation list requirement by NYSC, it remains an essential step for locally-trained graduates. If you didn’t attend a tertiary institution in the country, stay tuned; we will make a post as regards the eligibility and requirements for foreign graduates. How do I check my name on the JAMB Matriculation List? To confirm your name on the matriculation list, follow these steps: Click here and go to the JAMB portal. Select your examination year. continue reading @ https://hotschoolnews.com.ng/jamb-matriculation-list/ |
