I’ve been seeing my girlfriend for a while now and everything between us feels really natural and good. She’s 18 and I’m 25, so there’s a 7-year gap. We clicked instantly, have the same humor, same vibe, and she’s mature for her age. But lately I keep overthinking the age difference.
I know she’s a legal adult and we’re both consenting, but I still catch myself wondering if this is “weird” or if people will judge us. Some of my friends have made side comments, and I’ve seen online debates where people say any gap with someone under 20 is automatically a red flag. Others say once both people are adults it’s nobody’s business.
I genuinely care about her and don’t want to be in a relationship that could be unhealthy or imbalanced without me realizing it. So I’m asking honestly: is a 7-year gap at 18 and 25 a problem, or am I just stressing over nothing? Would you date someone with that age difference?
