I hardly loss, cos I do mainly crypto arbitrage. When I'm not doing arbitrage, I trade support and resistance.

My key backbone is PATIENCE. I don't enter a trade until I'm 80 percent sure it'll favor me. And I make sure I don't risk more than I intend to.

I started crypto trading last year may with 80usdt, made about 2k usdt somewhere around September. Lost about 1k usdt around November last year when I tried using a new style to trade crypto.

Now, my account is back to about 3k usdt. I didn't add all the money I've withdrawn since I started crypto trading, cos if I add them, then my account by now should be about 11k to 14k usdt balance .

Lols. I would love to play with you but for privacy reasons I can’t disclose that.

That notwithstanding there are many players on Lichess you can play with.

Maybe you are looking for who to flog 😁
I’m rated 1700+ on Lichess (I recently started playing there) and about 1500+ on Chesscom (98th percentile).
Giving up so soon… I’ll check lichess out… thanks

A lot of my free time is spent browsing, using chat gbt, YouTube, Instagram. I spend too much time on my phone, thankfully, I've paid my dues.

I have my income, have a family and have pretty much achieved what I should be achieving at my age. I can afford to play with my free time.

Please, if youre still hustling to find your feet, stay away from constantly using your phone. It is a thief of time!. Thank God phone wasn't a thing while I was in school and trying to find my feet.

While the internet has its uses, it's more of a problem than a blessing for most people.
Abeg show me road 🙏

For me, my phone has been my office right from day one, if I am not creating a website with it, then I am running ads for ai video generation class, so many things to do with phone if you are smart. You must not always consume contents online.
Where should I start from… plz help my life

Well, some will tell you it’s an avenue to start content creation. But I see most of those content creators as idi*iots who choose money over reputation, respect and privacy. I don’t do TikTok, I don’t even have an account with them. YouTube (just the link to a video) is mostly used alongside my other YouTube downloaders for learning new concepts in my Software journey and field.

Back to the issue. If I’m less busy, I open my lichess app to play chess. There is this word cookies game too that I use to play that helps me learn words. I know a friend who likes to read pdf stuffs (I think stories or books) too from their phone too.
The world can feel a bit lonely…do you play chess? Maybe we could play together sometime 😊

Ever since I stopped gambling, my phone has been boring. What do you guys use your phones for? Mine is just Nairaland, TikTok, and YouTube. Am I missing something, or is my generation slowly going into exile?

That’s the problem with so many of us. What do you actually want to achieve after working for just a year on 350k salary in this current economy? Don’t put unnecessary pressure on yourself that will make you to engage in shady deals in your place of work. Of course you need to start saving, but make good plans for that and then understand if have other responsibilities that’s taking majority of your earnings. Don’t put unnecessary pressure on yourself man, you just started work a year ago.
Thank you sir

lavylilly:
Step 1: Get clarity on where your money is going
Before making big changes, you need honesty.
For one month:
Track every expense, no matter how small
Group them into needs, wants, and avoidable spending
Most people are shocked at how much leaks through convenience, impulsive spending, and “small” expenses. Awareness alone often frees up 20–30% of income.
Step 2: Create a simple money structure (keep it boring and consistent)
Once your salary comes in, split it immediately:
50–55% – Living expenses
20–25% – Savings / investments
15–20% – Personal spending & flexibility
If you earn ₦400k, you should aim to save at least ₦80k–₦100k monthly, consistently. This is not about restriction—it’s about control.
Step 3: Build an emergency fund first
Your first financial goal is security, not investing.
Target:
3–6 months of your living expenses
This fund protects you from:
Job delays or layoffs
Medical emergencies
Borrowing under pressure
Once this is in place, your confidence and decision-making improve significantly.
Step 4: Make your career work harder for you
Since you don’t plan to return to school, your experience and skills must do the heavy lifting.
Ask yourself:
What problems does my company rely on me to solve?
What skills are in demand but scarce on site?
Then deliberately sharpen one high-value area, such as:
Site/project supervision
Cost estimation & BOQs
Construction planning & scheduling
Quality control & inspections
Depth in one area often pays more than being average at many.
God bless you… thanks

Create cowriewise or piggyvest, set it to deduct 60% of your salary when paid. Zero in your mind that your salary now is the remaining 40%, lets assume that your salary is 350k that means that you are forced to save 210k monthly (it's not your own again until you withdraw it), live on the rest 140k and then do that for 6 months. In six months you already have 1.26 million naira with possibly 10% interest depending on the way you route it. If you are serious you can turn the 1.26 million naira to 10 million naira in 3 to 5 years
Thank you very much

Your salary is never enough
I would advise you to download piggyvest ,save atleast 50k monthly

By December start a business and water it
Start provision store business
Theres money in that, you only need to employ someone trusted
Thank you sir

Good day dear nairaland.
I recently started working at a construction company as a civil engineer, earning between 350k to 450k. I’ve been in the role for about a year now, but I don’t have much to show for it. I don’t want to repeat the same mistakes this year, so I’m seeking advice and guidance on what steps to take and what direction to follow. I’m currently single, and I don’t plan to further my education, as time is not on my side. I look forward to your advice.
