pendo89:They do exist, The border between Ethiopia and Somalia there are tribes of mixed Somalian and Ethiopian people, there's millions of them. There are tribes in both Somalia and Ethiopia that are sooo mixed up, they dont know whether to claim Somalian or Ethiopian. Majority of the inhabitants of Haraar (in Ethiopia) are mixed with Somalian and Ethiopian blood. Ethiopia has a very large Muslim population and they tend to mix with the Somalis more. Also alot of Northern Somalians have ethiopian blood. The offspring look like typical horners (mix of both groups). Anyway, I think Horn of africans have very recessive genes, their offspring almost always looks like the non-horner parent. More examples. [quote author=*osisi* link=topic=213571.msg3291895#msg3291895 date=1230772354]The world's 10 worst places to live TheStar.com - World - The world's 10 worst places to live Corruption: Somalia Declared a failed state, Somalia is so violent that millions have fled their homes. But it is also at the bottom of an annual global corruption index by Transparency International, which points out that in desperately poor countries, bribery and extortion can be life and death issues if people are forced to pay extra for basic necessities. Gender gap: Yemen Greater equality between the sexes means better health, living standard and lifespan for women. The reverse is true in Yemen, where, the World Economic Forum says, lack of education, poor health care, lack of job opportunity and inability to press for change through the political process put women at risk. Freedom of speech: Eritrea Since the government banned all privately owned media in 2001, things have grown steadily worse for journalists, with crackdowns on media, arrests, reports of torture, disappearances and deaths in custody. "President Issaias Afeworki and his small clan of paranoid nationalists continue to run the country like a vast open prison," says Reporters Without Borders.[/quote]That's bullshit, I've only been to these three countries in the list, and I can swear i loved every single second of it. And Yemen is by far my favourite country in the middle east. I bet the reporter doesn't even know the location of the countries he mentioned let alone set foot in them. |
tpia:I didn't say they didn't, you should be directing that statement to Fayahsoul, who's claiming all full africans have woolly. What I'm getting at is that straight hair is indigenous to Africa and African people, and its not suprising to see Africans [who are not mixed] who have straight hair regardless of what country they hail from. So fayahsoul, are these west Africans not native africans since they have straight hair, or are they mixed since they don't have '' THE ROYAL CROWN ''? |
The term 'Mixed' is very vague. Everyone in this planet is mixed whether they like to believe it or not. Almost every ethnic Somali can trace their family linage, it's apart of our culture. As I've stated before, I can trace my family linage to 23 generations and not one single person was anything other than a native of Horn of Africa, we are ancient people, we looked the way we do for centuries so have our neighbours who are genetically related to us. The following statement is by The European Journal of Human Genetics, who have carried out a study in NE Africa. Overall, the genetic studies conclude that Somalis and their fellow Ethiopian and Eritrean North-east African groups represent a unique and distinct racial bloc on the continent: ''The most distinct separation is between African and non-African populations. The northeastern-African -- that is, the Ethiopian and Somali -- populations are located centrally between sub-Saharan African and non-African populations, The fact that the Ethiopians and Somalis have a subset of the sub-Saharan African haplotype diversity -- and that the non-African populations have a subset of the diversity present in Ethiopians and Somalis -- makes simple-admixture models less likely; rather, these observations support the hypothesis proposed by other nuclear-genetic studies (Tishkoff et al. 1996a, 1998a, 1998b; Kidd et al. 1998) -- that populations in northeastern Africa may have diverged from those in the rest of sub-Saharan Africa early in the history of modern African populations and that a subset of this northeastern-African population migrated out of Africa and populated the rest of the globe. These conclusions are supported by recent mtDNA analysis (Quintana-Murci et al. 1999).'' NE Africans take the 'mixed comment' as a insult. Ps. My apology to the topic starter, for going off topic. |
Over 85% of my genes are predominantly African, therefore my genes are mainly African. The loyal Crown? Like I said in my part of the Continent very few people have Woolly hair. Curly/wavy hair is more like our *Royal crown*. One particular characteristic can't describe and label the inhabitants of an entire Continent or a particular race. Its like saying only south east Asians have slanted eyes, come on that's bullshyt. Every human characteristic is indigenous to African except for the white skin. There was obviously a mix of foreign blood in Africa, but that blood didn't introduce non-woolly hair to certain Africans. Ps. I'm a ethnic Somali from Somalia and Socotra By the way, its not only my ethnic group which carry this gene, a lot of ethnic Horn of Africans carry it aswell *I dont know about the rest of Africa* |
fayahsoul:Sorry, but I think you might have miss understood me, I didn't say that woolly hair didn't exist within my ancestors, lord knows its likely it did. What I meant was I can trace my linage to 23 generations, therefore I know I'm 100% African and I have no foreign blood in me, & in my family today no one has wolly hair. Which obviously means that straight/wavy and curly hair is indigenous to Africa and Africans. My Family was only an example, Woolly hair isn't common among my ethnic group and my part of the dark continent , while curly and wavy hair is very common. |
Kuns:Africa is a land of diversity. Since Africa is the cradle of Mankind, light skin and straight/wave/curly hair is native to Africa and Africans. I'll use my own family as an example. In my own family, our skin complexion ranges from very light [like arabs or latinos] to very dark. Whats even more surprising to outsiders is the darkest person in my family who is my youngest brother has bone straight patch black hair, majority of people mistake him for a Sri-Lankan. I'm 100% black and 100% African, with straight/wavy hair and brown skin. I can even trace my family linage to 23 generations and not one single person in my family has wolly hair. The only person who comes close to having wolly hair in my family is my little sister, and yet her hair is more curly than wolly and its dark brown, with light brown hightlights [all natural], heck even her eyebrows are brown lol. My fathers youngest brother who has never left Africa, is light skinned man, with greeny/browny eyes and light brown straight hair, while my 1st cousin, who is also 100% black and African has ginger cury hair. This type of diversity is very common among many people from my neck of the forest. What im trying to get at is, Straight hair, and light skin is native to Africans and Africans. You don't have to be mixed to be light skinned and to have straight hair. Africa is a continent not a country, we haven't got the same genes therefore we all look different. |
Where on earth did i say ARAB SOMALI's are attractive?, Why you even putting Arab Somali's in this *Most Arab Somali's aren't even really considered somali anyway! Just because Somali people are not Bantu, doesn't make them Arab neither! In the whole Somali popluation less than 10% are Somali Arabs *and they look verrrrrrry Arab*, while less than 5% are Somali bantu. And around 85% are Somali Cushitic, Somali Cushitic are not Mixed with Arab, we only have less than 15% Caucasian/Arab in us *DNA wise* and less than 5% Sub-Saharan African *DNA*. Just because Somali people don't look like your average African doesn't make us mixed. DNA will prove it! And i know Dozans of Nigerians *Sowwie to burst your bubble, but i have Never seen anything goodlooking in them*. |
Did i say 'ALL' are ugly. No. don't put words in my mouth. And i said *Boston* has a high number of Somali Bantu's, which means she's highly likely to be Somali Bantu. Understand! And Somali Bantu's might consider themselves to be Somali, but to real Somali's they are not Somali, mainly because they are Bantu and not cushitic. Anyways if she is a real Somali, than, thats bless. *But i didn't say EVERY SINGLE somali in this world is extremely stunning*, i said the majority are, and most people who know Somali's will agree with that statement. |
we are chatting about the country with the most beautiful women. Which clearly means the country with the majority of good looking females. And from what I've seen the majority of Nigerian women are no were near beautiful. And i live in a city with a high population of nigerians. |
My username gives away my ethnicity. And like you said you only know 'one somali chick'. how could you make a valid assumption when you've only seen one person from a whole ethnic group. Even the Italians have made songs and poems admiring the beauty of Somali women. And don't say 'the only reason why somali women are good looking is because somali women are lighter skinned and they have arab in them. Because we do not have arab in us. And im assuming your from the USA, Boston. *since it says it on your location*. That chick you know is probably a somali Bantu *Since a large number of them migrated to the states, the Boston area*, and they are not considered Somali *they were enslaved by the somali arabs to serve them and they are from south east Africa* yes they speak Somali and they live in Somalia, but their race isn't Somali. Btw i know Tons and Tons of Nigerians, i went to schools with loads of them and i go to uni with loads of them. Heck i even used to live in a Nigerian populated neighbourhood. |
Are you getting offended from my opinion. Talk about taking *a random user's opinion* to the heart? Beauty to me is basically having natural beauty, and i've never seen a Nigerian female with natural beauty, not even the weave helps them out in the beauty department. |
Every African country has tribes. I seriously think Nigerians are ugly, *im intitled to my opinion*. I have never in my life seen a decent looking one. Their women are way to hench and Manly. |
The most beautiful women in the world, let alone Africa is Somali women, because of their extremely/stunning beautiful facial and physical features. Plus their hair is naturally soft, straight/curly etc. Next i would say Eritrea and than probably Mali in west africa *some anyway*. And no im not saying they are beautiful because of their skin colour. Its their exotic features and natural beauty which makes them stunning. |
Nairobi is a extremely beautiful city no doubt about it. Its good to see the positive side of East Africa for once, and trust me alot more East African cities are like that, but its never in the spot light, hopeful it will be in due time. |
