Good and firm decision. Indicted marketers should not only be denied payment, they must also be prosecuted. They are thieves. GEJ's got our back |

This move must be viewed with suspicion. What we need now isn't new note, Sanusi is bothering himself over irrelevant issues. 1 Like |

This is an unholy alliance, it is bound to fail. |

Refund shouldn't stop their prosecution. They are criminals and must be dealt with. This will serve as deterrent to others. |

The State Security Service (SSS) said on Thursday that it would hand over six suspects it arrested in connection with the killing of Comrade Olaitan Oyerinde, to the police very soon. Ms Marilyn Ogar, the Deputy Director, Public Relations of the SSS, announced this at a news conference on Thursday in Abuja. Oyerinde, the Principal Private Secretary to Gov. Adams Oshiomhole of Edo, was killed on May 4 by some gunmen at his residence in Benin City. Ogar explained that the service did not recycle and parade suspects as being insinuated in certain quarters even though they were wearing similar clothes when they were paraded at two different occasions. She said the suspects paraded on Aug. 1 in connection with the killing of Oyerinde were not the same as those paraded on March 14. Ogar explained that the suspects paraded on March 14 were three young men aged between 19 and 20 years, who were arrested for allegedly conducting surveillance on two expatriates before their abduction. ``Certain interests have exploited both social and print media to peddle false insinuations that some of the suspects paraded on Aug. 1 in connection with comrade Oyerinde’s killing have earlier been paraded by this service on March 14 as they appeared to have been dressed alike. ``The service, therefore, wishes to state emphatically that at no time has it recycled suspects even though some of the suspects were paraded in same clothes. ``It is pertinent to state that the suspects paraded on March 14, were three young men between the ages of 19 and 20 years, who were discovered to have conducted surveillance on two expatriate staff before their abduction,’’ she said. Ogar said that any attempt to link both groups together was diversionary and intended to trivialise and politicise the murder of late Oyerinde. She said that there was no rivalry between the SSS and the Police, adding, ``we are not working at cross purposes.’’ ``We are inseparably tied together. The issues of rivalry do not arise. We will continue to partner for the good of the country,’’ he said. Ogar said that the era when people committed crime and go scot free was over, adding that there would be no more hiding place for criminals. Meanwhile, the Force Headquarters said in Abuja on Thursday that one Rev. David Ugolor was being held following the confession of some of suspects arrested in connection with Oyerinde’s murder. The Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Frank Mba, who announced this at a news conference, said the suspects allegedly confessed to have been contracted by Ugolor to carry out the act for N20 million. Mba said the suspects admitted that they received N200, 000 as part payment for the act, adding that eight suspects were already in police custody in connection with the crime. He said the police was being guided by ``simple test of reason’’ in the continued detention of Ugolor and that it was not out to persecute any of the suspects being held in connection with the murder. ``We are not out to persecute any of the suspects; we will not be stampeded to do things that are unprofessional,’’ he said, adding that investigation was still ongoing in the matter. Party war in progress. Both parties are trying to shield corruption by protecting their "Own". If both parties are committed to the eradication of corruption, they should sack both culprits and subject them to prosecution, rather than playing this hide and seek game |

Equity and fairness should prevail. The Ibos are not slaves, they must also be given the opportunity to contribute their fair share to national development. If GEJ is not contesting, I will support the Ibos. Power stayed too long with the Aboki people. |

These oil thieves again. FG should Expediate their trial and convict those guilty. Also, the Govt should device an alternative means that will guarantee unlimited access to petrol product. This blackmail must stop. 3 Likes |
