I have an Acer aspire 5920 laptop, instead of disposing it unceremoniously or giving it out to someone that probably doesn't deserve it, I came up with the bright idea to convert it to a gaming laptop

No!
You're using a core 2 duo,first you'll need to upgrade that already damned processor(it's palatable but meh)...
Regarding ~~upgrading~~ installing a graphics card, if you are lucky enough to upgrade the SOC, you'll need a board that supports USB 3.0 / thunderbolt to support an external graphic card,which are expensive af too and require more space, you'll also need to plug the graphic card too separately. A GTX 1050 thunderbolt dock would cost you at least 140k!

Lol. Carrier Locked? I have the US unlocked model. You don't lose files installing with the local upgrade option. That was how I upgraded to 9.5.4 immediately after i unboxed the device. This is my 6th OnePlus device.

Yup, it's sim unlocked but runs on a carrier version (T-mobile) which would take longer to release updates. It's just like getting a sprint S9 and unlocking it. Yeah you'll get network and all, but some would unbrand it. That's what I'm trying to say, installing the international version would clear your data.

Why don't you load the international version. Carrier locked models get way slower updates, download that and install from local upgrade section. You'll lose your files tho

I'm yet to look at the screens of these two devices side by side. But i do like the 'contrast' i get from the OP 7 Pro. I'll put exactly same pictures on both of them and see. I expect the Samsung to be better, but only because... It's a Samsung. Lol
