Because my younger sister who received message from Jamb to proceed to unilorin for registration/screening but the link on the directive posted in the link above *http://eportal.unilorin.edu.ng/* doesn't work.

Does it mean that registration hasn't started?

the registration according to the VC will commence fully next month as 2nd semester exams is still ongoing. the link is a scam as unilorin does not have such eportal. After the meeting of all uni VCs slated for next week holds,then screening will commence. *the school's website will be updated as soon as the registration is due to commence* so tell your sis not to panic as regards any jamb deadline as long as she's been posted

this is the outcome of the chat...admission process amidst other things were discussed.

*the school is still expecting the list of applicants from JAMB
*VCs general meeting set to hold next week after which the uni will decide the process to follow for admission process
*the school hopes to admit more than last year because of new facilities in the school.
*convocation set to hold in October
* the school sets to partner with an int'l agricultural firm.this will be of benefit to the school and kwara state @ large.
*transport and accommodation--building of more hostels to accommodate more students and purchase of new buses to ease transport.
*solar plant project--contract has been signed and the work is in progress
*272 and 21 int'l students and staffs respectively-- this shows the sch has a good standard of education.
*DVCs have been given extension of tenure in office due to good works.
*Maintenance of structures built and commissioned by FG and int'l organization in the sch--faculties are charged to properly maintain the facilities and use it for effective teaching and sound practical.
*Specialized University--this contributes to ways on how to curb unemployment. this kind of uni will allow more youths to be employed and reduce the rate of seeking white collar jobs and make the youths have a sense of direction on what to do after graduation.
*Attraction of industries to the uni on advice and problem-solving techniques.
*construction of 2000 bed spaces to commence next week.
*Every uni needs to assess what happens in the outside world,this makes it relevant to change curriculum of faculties every 5years.
*why post graduate and remedial are independent of JAMB---there are regulations to which the school abides by and these 2 are test-cases in which jamb needs to take a look at.Autonomy should also be allowed in universities and there are checks and balances coordinated by the senate under FG's regulation.
*Distant learning centres---this will be of advantage to people who wish to attend the university without utme and those who do work-study plan.
*103,000+ applied to the uni and only 10,000+ will be admitted.
*by next month,preparation will be ready for admission process for new students. by next month ending,everything would have gotten to a remarkable point.
*nullification of teacher training colleges by FG---the govt wants something better so that the standards of education can improve so as to be able to meet the demands of schools.if the colleges are to be reinstated,it should be for a tangible reason.
*flexible tuition fee and discipline amidst students,still the school is working rigorously---this is what makes the school stand out because it gets funding from friends of the university.
*Alumni of the university are properly contacted on the development of the sch and how they can help to make the sch progress. this is made possible through the advancement unit.
*Fluctuation of salary payment not in unilorin,how is this possible?---- all the staffs work effectively and their welfare is of great concern to the university.Creation of an environment that entices and propels staffs to work effectively is the VC's philosophy.
*Advice to staffs----keep working effectively because their welfare is the mgt's priority.

Instead of going for an associate (if ur sibling dont have enough that ok ) better to carry SAT book and online material . Study as if you life depends on it , get good grades and then apply to Universities for a BSC that give full ride scholarship to international students . There should be some in NY , worse case u target other east coast Universities and take a Bus/ Train to NY for weekend .

You might be better off long term with that instead .

hmmmm..thanks. how about the work-study plan? heard i can work and study fr b.sc after completing my AAS. is it worth it?
