The opening ceremony of the 2018 Winter Olympics kicked off in Pyeongchang, South Korea, with spectacular performances and memorable moments today.

In a remarkable display of unity, athletes from North and South Korea marched into the stadium together while Kim Yo Jong, the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, watched along with South Korean President Moon Jae-in.

The stunning event was capped off with the lighting of the Olympic cauldron. Doing the honors was former figure skater Kim Yuna, who won gold for South Korea in 2010. She received the torch from two members of the women’s hockey team that will feature players from both North and South Korea.

South African self-styled prophet who sprayed his followers with insecticide has been found guilty of assault.

According to local media report, Pastor Lethebo Rabalago who is widely known as the Doom Pastor was also found guilty of contravening the Agricultural Stock Remedies Act, a court ruling said.

Rabalago claims the insect repellent he used in 2016 could heal cancer and HIV. A sentence is yet to be handed down after the verdict by Mookgopong Magistrates Court in Limpopo province.

On Friday, magistrate Frans Mahodi told the court the state had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt that the five people who laid assault charges were violated, South Africa's national broadcaster SABC reports.

The magistrate said the fact that the complainants "were sprayed on their faces with Doom makes this offence [the] worst of its kind". He also revealed some of them had suffered "detrimental side effects... like coughing for more than seven months" after the incident. Rabalago - who run the Mount Zion General Assembly was arrested after it emerged he had used the product to "cure" his followers of various ailments in 2016.

Pa Kehinde and Taiwo Obasa are celebrating their 85th birthday today as twin brothers. In an interview granted some years back, the brothers said when they got married, their wives could not really differentiate them. They said when their children saw something their dad would love, they would have to buy two of the items so that the other twin brother would have one. If the said item is just one left, their kids would rather not buy it.

A 12-year-old boy, Farouk Ibrahim, who had his manhood cut off by his uncle in Babana area of Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, might never have a functional manhood again, according to doctors. It was gathered that his uncle, Aliyu Mohammed, accosted Farouk who was taking food to his siblings in the farm. Knife stab Mohammed squeezed Ibrahim’s throat until he passed out, cut off his manhood and then left him in his pool of blood to die.

A source said Farouk luckily regained consciousness after nine hours and managed to get home, where he narrated his ordeal to his parents, after which he fainted. The source added that he was quickly rushed to the hospital and he was revived.

‘Didn’t know I’ll survive’ Farouk confirmed that Aliyu attacked him at about 6a.m. on his way to the farm, explaining that the accused held his neck until he became unconscious, only to wake up several hours later. According to Farouk, “I did not know what happened; I woke up in the afternoon and was feeling pains in my manhood.


“When I looked down, I saw I was bleeding and my manhood had been cut off. I managed to stand up and went home, not knowing I could survive.” Farouk’s other uncle, Usman Aliyu, also explained that Farouk was later rushed to the Teaching Hospital in Illorin, Kwara State, where a temporary surgery was carried out on him with a catheter inserted for him to urinate. Doctor Head of Surgery at the General Hospital, Minna, Dr. Adamu Bala, who examined Farouk, said though the Teaching Hospital in Illorin tried to save the situation, Farouk may never have a functional manhood unless he goes for an elaborate plastic surgery outside Nigeria. He said he reviewed the case of the boy before referring him to Ilorin Teaching Hospital, where a plastic surgery was carried out on him to stop the bleeding and a catheter inserted so that the boy will be able to pass urine.

According to him, “the only unfortunate part was that the amputated part was not seen and could not be fixed back. “For him to have a functional penis, he will need an elaborate plastic surgery and I don’t think we can do it here in Nigeria. “He was passing urine normally, but now he is passing urine through a pipe, which is very abnormal and can be depressing. “Therefore, Farouk needs urgent help from everyone so he can have use of his penis again.” Meanwhile, Police have succeeded in arresting Aliyu, who was on the run and has made some confessional statements.

An American Instagram and fitness model recently underwent a removal and reconstructive surgery to get all the silicone removed from her butt.

The lady known as @getbodiedbyj on Instagram shared shocking photos from the surgery and gave an update on the operation.

The first photo shows her laying on the hospital bed after she was operated on.

She wrote:

'1 Day Post REMOVAL & reconstruction of silicone, YES they CUT it out & suggesting more reconstructive surgery because the silicone was embedded within my skin, fat, muscle & tissue all the good stuff that I NEED, right now IDK if I want to go through this again. SO I’m just focusing on healing! PSA?I don’t post pics for pity or sympathy I post to EDUCATE! So if you can’t appreciate that & want to be negative while I’m trying to spread positivity & LIGHT just UNFOLLOW because No one has time for ignorance?? I have my journey highlighted on my page under Butt shots because people are asking me the same questions over & over.'

In her second post, where she shared an extremely graphic photo of her operated butt, the wife and mother, revealed she's now fighting an infection from the surgery and prays it doesn't cause her a necrotic tissue that will have to be cut out.
