spyder880: My brother, you know that many people have still not come to terms with how terrible things has turned in the market of recent. Cement is slowly inching back up to N10k, every other bits and pieces of building materials are competing for which one will experience the highest price increase.
I am scared to tell the man I am about to do a new decking for that the decking I dis for 12m last 3 months will now be 15m for a double flat decking. I am even trying to advice him to forget about the work for now. It's scary, really. Shai!!! God help us. |

Codes151: that’s not what I mean.
I built a house through a PM. Then build another with me being present on site.
I saw the difference.
That’s what I mean.
And as a registered eng. I don’t compromise on safety. Good but not 30m for a 4 bedroom bungalow as of today. |

Codes151: now e fit shake. But if you manage your sute And run things by yourself. It should take. 30m You mean if you compromise your build quality. If you're not a builder, structural engineer or an Architect. Don't run anything yourself and even if you're, you'd save nothing. I'm an Architect and I built my Bungalow, so I know. Add another 20m to that 30m then you're good to go. Don't cut corners in building thinking that you're saving one or two. |

Mom007: Chai! You don enter Adron wahala? Well, their estates are cute and well planned sha. Na their billing too much. Its cheaper to build in shimawa than lagos but mind who you use as contractor! Some of those guys are pretty vile! If you have your lands and permits already, this should cost you like 20m in shimawa. Just dress back and laugh at yourself holding 20m for that Bungalow 🤣 if you like go to shiwawa🤣 |

McDoe: I don't like quoting figures, but from what I am seeing, if you have a honest and reliable person that can handle it, with 10-15 million, you open your house and live in it comfortably.
The money consuming aspects are the foundation, roofing, windows, doors and internal finishing
I advice you not to be scared, hold that amount I quited and see the extent the building will reach. You're a wicked man and must be avoided. You have no truth in you or you're just stack ignorant on this issue. Don't make me laugh 🤣 |

Politics › Re: How FIRS, Customs, NUPRC Received More Allocation Than States – Agora Policy by DaddyUgonna: 9:34am On Jun 12, 2024 |
AmiableMosquito: I don't understand what this news article aims to achieve. These are productive revenue generating agencies of government that brings the bulk of the money that the lazy and unproductive state governors come to share in Abuja monthly and which they subsequently loot and plunder to the detriment of the citizens.
If these agencies meet and even sometimes surpass their targets, there is nothing wrong in taking a cost of collection for smooth operations. Afterall, these agencies are self-funded and do not rely on the national treasury to pay their staff. If not for these league of GOEs, a majority of other government agencies are more of liabilities than assets, with many of them not carrying out their core mandate because they are either too clueless or constrained to do so. Sometimes I wonder if some of you are wired differently with short reasoning. I can't even start arguing with your coconut head. Just imagine what you wrote. |

Politics › Re: Tinubu’s Reinstated Fuel Subsidy Will Drain Almost Half Of Oil Revenue—IMF Warns by DaddyUgonna: 5:41am On May 11, 2024 |
SoNature: I'd like to think that we Nigerians either like to deceive ourselves or we are just ignorant of what leadership is. In truth, leadership is NOT all about choosing between good and evil. No!
Think of a leader as a civilian in charge of security operatives chasing after one dangerous terrorist who has masterminded the killing of hundreds in the past. This terrorist runs into a building full of people just to escape from security operatives.
The leader knows that if he tells the security agents to go into the building to arrest the man, he will waste all of them and escape because he's a specialist in doing that. Instead, he tells them to throw bombs into the building, killing the terrorist and other innocent people.
The leader knows that if he keeps that terrorist alive, he will kill more. So, it's better to sacrifice just 5 - 10 innocent people in place of hundreds. That's something these leaders face every now and then.
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala told Jonathan to remove the petrol subsidy in 2012. She took hours to convince Jonathan. Jonathan took weeks to think about it but wasn't convinced. Considering that his options were limited, Jonathan had to remove it anyways. And it backfired! It nearly led to a countrywide protest - a protester even died at Ojota! That's what it means to be a leader.
So, sometimes, we have to pity our leaders. We don't have access to the information they have. We don't know what they go through at night for making certain decisions. But, I like the way Buhari put it, "You cannot satisfy everyone. Just make a decision that will enable you to sleep at night."
If you read up to this point, my point is, leadership is hard! We pity leaders who were duly elected not leaders who snatched power with nothing in their brains. |
