ddippset: in the era of ronaldinho, how many of us here were 'man u fans', 'arsenal fans', 'madrid fans'? then we were all united and loved good players. i bet that if ronaldinho were still a barca player today , all of you would not say anything good of him. why? simply because ure madrid fans, or arsenal fans or man u fans. messi is better than ronaldinho was. messi scores much much much more goals than ronaldinho did. in terms of mid field play, messi is equally as gifted as ronaldinho. he even has more assists than ronaldinho had. ronaldinho won the world cup because he had carlos, cafu, lucio, gilberto, rivaldo, kaka, ronaldo, juninho, denilson, edmilson, roque junior. so to say 'ronaldinho won the world cup' is a very dumb statement. some one says remove xavi and iniesta bla bla bla. messi shone in 2005 junior world cup when he took the world by storm. messi has the highest assists in barca for several seasons now. messi has scored hattricks and braces without xavi and iniesta playing. so how dumb can we get making such statements? alot of soccer pundits have called messi the greatest they have seen play the game. a lot. alot have compared him to maradona and pele. lets not play down his greatness simply because we are madrid or man u or arsenal fans.

Ronaldinho in his prime had no competition. Messi is the greatest today, but he is not far from ronaldo. Some are even saying that roaldo is a better player because he does most stuff on his own but messi has a lot of help. Check ur facts.

Ronaldinho won the world cup at 22 years old. He won every title, worls cup, balon d or, footballer of the year, champions leauge, spanish league, copa del rey, european super cup, everything. He is a mid fielder, not a striker like messi. He scored goals and creates goals. Why do u think eto'o was so deadly? Because of Ronaldinho's passes. Have u seen frank lampard or steven gerrard or Xavi or iniesta scoring 40 goals in one season? NO! They are midfielders. They provide passes. Ronaldinho was a midfielder, but a special one, he scores and he makes others score. Messi is a fantastic player. I will bot deny that. He is a deadly striker who can score from any angle. Take Xavi and Iniesta out of the midfield and see how many goals Messi will score a season. By the way, Ronaldinho is the one who brought Messi on the scene. The first goal Messi scored was from a Ronaldinho pass. Ronaldinho is the foundation of the glory that Barcelona has now.
