Dagr8 dear my argument wasn't based on fornication as you put it!!! I was defending the case where a lady and the guy signed the papers at the magistrate court before she even got pregnant and later they want to make it official because we both know that a white wedding is expensive. Is there a problem when they want to get married but they can't afford the show pooper of a white wedding? Sex before marriage is a sin but after the magistrate court wedding is it still a sin?

I am not saying we shud not ask questions or disagree on some issues ...i personally disagree wit my dad on so many issues...He is still my dad...I love d old man like "mad"...i disagree wit Pastor Kumuyi on some issues...yet i respect dat man..i love to listen to him....dis people are human beings for crying out loud...


FYI..i came to know Pastor Adeboye wen i was 10 yrs old or so...he was not even in d limelight at dat time...I read one of his books and fell in love wit dat man..i still love him...if u av problem wit dat am sorry bt dat doesnt change anytin....last year i was privilege to meet him one on one and we shook hands...dis man is a nice person...dont sit in a corner looking at pple's errors and mistakes and be opening threads or commenting on threads criticizing...face ur destiny... success can only be envied and castigated it can never be denied

in case you want to know I believe in Tithing and am proud of it...my dad taught us dat while we were growing up..myself and my siblings still tithe...we av not died....we av scriptures to back it...we av testimonies and we av heard testimonies of others too...if you dont believe in it well dats u ..dose dat believe av results to show 4 it...just like i dont believe a woman MUST cover her head wit a clothing b4 praying...some pple believe it has to be dat way...

Honestly, i try as much as possible to stay away from arguments dis days...cos i av learnt and i was taught dat argument could be waste of time...after spending ur precious time, energy and after slapping each other...at d end both parties still ended up keeping/standing for their opinion....so i hop i am not arguing here( dat was why i emboldened "argument" in Uj's post dat i quoted)

let me start from Uj's question....personally i believe d "real" wedding takes place wen there is parental consent( Gen 24:1-67)...bt dey also need to place d union under God and receive His blessings..

Coming to the church tin....d Church is an authority wit Jesus as d Head and He SETS( Eph 4:11) representatives...if you want to place ur union under his authority and obtain his blessings you take ur vows in d church...(dis is not religion)...most people do dat as religion and dats where d problem is...in case u did not know Christianity is not a religion...


like in d case of dis couple in question, dey can go to d magistrate and do their tin...bt some cultures/rites/religion demands dem to want to do it in d church...

The Bible frowns at fornication...dis is a society where pre-marital sex is encouraged and some people will even tell u, i must know d sexuality of my husband b4 we are married( are all these Biblical)
Dis is not an issue of Holier dan thou like someone stated...
the way men insist on brides getting pregnant before they can walk down the aisle is alarming
A lady said she went to a catholic wedding and all the eight couples getting wedded on dat day were all pregnant...did dey all make mistake...obviously dey all deliberately divulge into fornication and follow unbiblical way to d process...dis people need to be discouraged and not to be covered...
THE CHURCH IS DISCOURAGING SUCH PRACTICES....nobody is saying u cant repent or God has condemn u. Anyone who has made the mistake of having sex outside of marriage can be forgiven

Some one may argue...wat abt dose who fornicate and yet dere is no pregnancy...obviously d Bible does not encourage dat too....

Different churches, different rules. The fact a church/pastor do not agree with your marriage doesn't mean God rejects it too. The problem with modern Xtianity (well, most of it) is w[s]hen people replace 'GOD' with men/institutions.[/s] Can anyone honestly tell me the only marriage God accepts is white marriage?
