Let's assume they each earn £75k per year, that's a payroll of £1.5m. Which show can he do in Nigeria that will not be loss making. Nigerian tickets sales can't pay his staffing overheads, so why should he focus on wrong market? He is not like Davido and co that pay their staff in Naira.

Of course $30k is a lot of money. How many Americans can boast of 30k cash in their accounts. A lot of good things they have access to which we term luxury over here are financed.
30k in the naija context is alot expecially due to the devaluation of the naira, the destruction of our purchasing power by the misfits in government. Few years ago it was easier for me to have $30k here in naija than for my sibling in the US. That money was 4.5m, of course it is now over 45m.
Where there might be a differ is saying someone with 50m can still afford with some one with 500m can. Someone with 50m can not drive a brand new car in naija unless he wants to soak garri. With 10% the most he will ride is a naija used 20 year old vehicle, a person with 500m will ride a entry level basic brand new car. Same applies to owning a house. With 30% Mr 500m can buy land for 75m and build a house for 75m total 150m. I doubt the 50m fellow can achieve the same with 15m.
Anyway, I get you point generally.

I think you missed it where I said basic things. Basic things are not priced in tens of millions, just few hundred thousands (feeding, rent, clothing, clean water, basic interior decoration, mini standard school for the kids)

I was actually trying to let the guy understand that someone with 45M in Nigeria can't be classified as being poor. In fact 45M is a good start to a bright future if he engages in the right business
