They use my passport to scan me in at the waiting hall I did mine in Lagos

what if the DS 160 was not filled on the old portal, but the number was generated from ustraveldocs.(Old portal). I don't think there will be any record for them to even look at in the first place,except they just want to set an example with applicants as you have opined.
Let's hope they keep improving their processes.

In this case you mentioned hmm I doubt if it’s not automatic refusal. What I notice they are trying to do is make sure you fill once and you fill right. No story changing so if you are filling make sure you understand what you fill and what you are doing. If not it’s gone and I don’t think they will allow upgrading of DS160 again because of this appointment stuff agent messed it up. And people buying the date.

They use this method of no updating of DS160 to deal with agent who sell dates. They can’t update for their clients who they sell date for.

Please boss can you please explain what really transpired at the interview in relation to you trying to update/give them your new DS? Were you able to offer the new DS to your interviewer and they rejected it? I would appreciate your response. Thank you.

On getting to the venue I told them at the waiting hall about it they said nothing like that. Before I was scanned I asked for the update again same thing. Your interviewer won’t allow do that because they just go ahead to interview you directly

You can’t change the form number but no hassle just print the new DS-160 and take it along.

Printing it and taking it along won’t work just stick to the story in the first one jeje. I have been there and nothing like updating form number.

What I meant was, did you need a new DS-160 because you hadn’t accessed the old one in the last 30 days and had to fill out a new form, or because you wanted to make changes after submitting the one you used to book the appointment? In my case, I started a DS-160 and booked the appointment with it, but I didn’t submit it, and since I hadn’t accessed it within the last 30 days, it got canceled. Now, I don’t even have access to the DS-160 I used for the appointment. Was that your situation as well?

Yes I filled the old one a year ago and my circumstances changed and also I booked a cruisship already with down payment. So I wanted to update some things but then the new website can’t allow u update the DS160.

I filled it myself and I can remember all filled myself

I’m so sorry for your experience. I know you will still be given the visa when you apply again. I just wanted to ask, I’m not sure if you’d know. But we’re there people going for only biometrics appointment and not having to do interview after? I ask because I had been refused visa IW but was given a white paper to come in for fingerprints only so I’m not sure if I’d need to book another appointment for interview too.

If anyone on here can answer this as well it’ll be greatly appreciated.

I saw a man who came in for finger print alone he only showed them a printed email and he was allowed in. I don’t know if he booked appointment or not.

No offense intended, but I wanted to share a few observations. I believe the issue might have been that you mentioned Brooklyn, while your DS-160 form indicates you'll be staying in Florida. Did you update your DS-160 with the new details, or was Florida still listed? Also, I thought your appointment was originally scheduled for November 2nd or 6th did you reschedule?

I updated my DS160 but on getting to the embassy they was no option to update it. I asked about two time before I was scanned. And the other appointment is for my cousin. Mine was October 17th.

If you go in with a new DS160 for update please get in mind they don’t update in there. This is a big effect on many who booked on the old website and can’t update the DS160.

VO: typed for some time. Sorry you are not qualified for a tourist visa at this moment kindly try again some other time. Blue paper was passed to me with my passport.


While on the queue for biometric only one elderly woman was given white paper the rest are refusals and their interview was a little fast than mine. Even a lady at window 3 was denied F1 visa

My DS160 is over 1 years old

No update oo. Just go nd attend your interview. But alot of rejection sa. Just pray. My brother who went there yesterday was refused also. Nd while outside waiting for him. Hardly did I see 4 approval.

For does having issue with the DS160 note they won’t update anything for you at the embassy ooo.

Today was a bad day at the lagos consulate. A lot of refusal from B1B2 and F1 visa.

Hello please I’m having some issue here. @oyotunji and others please help out ooo.

I was to have appointment November 2. 2024. Which falls to Saturday. I got email some days back that it’s been shifted to November 6th 2024.

This evening I wanted to check and download the new appointment letter. Then I saw November 2 again and also saw another one again cancelled I don’t understand. Attached are the pictures.

Good evening, please how can I know if I have more scheduled option in my portal. My current appointment falls on a Saturday. And I want to reschedule now.

I will be staying at a hotel in NY on arrival for 2 day before the cruise-ship and from there to the cruise-ship from NY to Brahmas and back to NY. The cruise ship will last 7 days. And I will be back to the hotel again for 5 more days. Which I will use for shopping and other site seeing.

Now my problem is. I was asked. Locations I will be visiting in the state when I visit.

Should I list each state the cruise ship will be passing through or I just need to input the hotel and then cruise ship then hotel again. But all in same NY.

1. In this case, the embassy is supposed to send an introduction email to you, which will enable you to migrate to the new website, b/cos your old appointment is still valid.
You were not supposed to go to the new website without the introduction email from the embassy. Only new applicant , who want to start afresh without prior appointments and pay new VISA fees are supposed to visit the new website directly without waiting for any introduction email.

2. In your case, If pending appointment request is displaying, it is supposed to be clickable which will enable you to continue with the scheduling, which means your previous appointment has been linked and all you need do is to print out AVITS version of your appointment letter.
Log out and log back to your profile, restart your phone or computer , clear caches and browser history, and log back .

PS: If this persist , you should open a ticket and complain to the support - staff or call the help desk .

Thank you for the reply sir. I got the email from the embassy to migrate to the new website which I did. I be didn’t signup on up on the new website without the embassy migration email. I still don’t understand why it’s showing pending.

1. Click on " Pending Appointment Request " to continue and once you are able to pick a date and schedule successfully, go ahead and print your appointment confirmation (either blank or not). Take your old appointment letter , and the new one from AVITS along on the day of your interview.
If you are going for IW, go to OIS website , sign up and book another Pick Up/Drop Off appointment, in which you will also merge your previous appointment letter with the OIS letter when going for drop off.
