HenryIX: I am a bit confused here. I got an alert from gtb on the 21st Jan 2015 that "the naira equivalent of CAD550.00 has been authorized for the transaction done on CITIZENSHIP & IMM FS SYDNEY CA". Usually, I was supposed to receive another alert informing me of the naira equivalent and the balance on my account but it didn't come. I went to check my balance at the ATM. There were 2 different balances; Ledger Balance and Available Balance. A closer look at the balances showed that the available balance is my net balance after deducting what was supposed to be the naira equivalent of CAD 550. I called GTCONNET to find out what was wrong. The officer said the transaction has been authorised but CIC haven't come for settlement. That is why they are holding a lien on my balance. He said they usually allow for 30days, failing which the transaction will be cancelled. He told me to contact CIC to complete the transaction. Today is 26th and I am yet to receive the alert for the conclusion of the transaction. I would like to know if anyone is experiencing this too, and how this affects my application Congrats in advance . Sometimes ,it may take up to a week or more for it to be cleared. The most important thing is that CIC has been granted access to remove the cash from your account. All is well as you're in good hands . Cheers . |

Been indisposed to make responses back to queries but it's good to know that @solomonwis and others are doing a lot in helping out. Unless ,your queries are overtly personal and needs some level of privacy ,I'm sure we can benefit from it on the thread. If it's however ,personal ,guess you can send a private mail to @solomonwise or myself to get clarity.Just click on the profile name of whoever you want to send mail to....such person will be notified to respond back but like i said earlier on,unless it's overtly personalized ,we can all share from it which is the main essence of this thread. Meritl: Hi all. Is there any October 13th , 14th or 15th NOC 2131 applicant in the house. My application was received at the CIC on october 14th and from that Google form, an October 16th application in my NOC has received a debit alert about a week ago. What's the relative difference in debiting and arrival of PER. By the way, I submitted with a bank draft my uncle helped me obtain from a bank in Canada and inserted into my package, before submitting. Just Relax.... Most DD for your timelines were encashed around November ending/Beginning of December in 2014. Most of them are yet to get PER while a couple of some have gotten it. You may want to confirm your DD with your Uncle's help in Canada but I guess you should focus all your efforts on receiving PER. Debiting realistically means when your Credit card/debit card or Demand draft (DD) was debited...when the money was removed from your account. In the case of credit/debit cards, you will get immediate alert by means of SMS or email while you will not be notified for DD.The only way you will know is if the originating bank can help you trace the history of draft to monitor the encashment. I'm sure you will soon be shouting your PER email receipt on the thread soonest Cheers. |

Jetspeed: Hello my e-family. I just discovered that I made the following mistakes before submitting my application and didn't notice until now. 1. My passport expiry date is 6th June 2015, but I erroneously typed 6th July 2015 2. Under travels. My spouse travel to UK in 2012 but I didn't update that in the form, but other travels before this were updated. Do I need to inform cic via a separate mail? My application package was received on the 29th Dec. 2014 1.Since it was a typo error as against the reality of the submitted documents, you would be fine.If however you want your conscience to be clear ,you may send a new form but its really not necessary as its not a ground for denial. 2.When you receive your PER,you immediately notify your local visa office of the ommision and send a new update to them. Cheers. |

usr249: My wife is currently pregnant and I stated in the application that I will not initially emigrate with her. She and baby will join me later when I have settled because baby will be too young by the time the visa's are issued. Could that be the reason? I doubt that myself. I will send them an email and prompt them. What was your transaction description? Surely, that is the major reason that can be technically explained to you. As already advised, once you receive your PER email, make it an immediate point of duty to notify Accra about adding Wifey to your application. You should get your PER soonest, please notify Accra immediately for her to be added. You should have indicated that she will be accompanying you regardless of her condition to avoid the current stress. Trust me,you won't want to go through the arduous process/task of inviting her to join you later after after getting you PRV. Cheers. |

dober: Mr Dankollins please i need you to explain this to me. During the eligibility test (come to canada tool) for the express entry, 1) "In the last three years, how many years of skilled work experience do you have in Canada? It must have been full-time (or an equal amount in part time)." Must this work experience be gotten in canadian soil?
2) "During this period, which National Occupation Classification (NOC) level is most of the experience in? If you do not have any Canadian work experience during this period, please choose "None of the above" " How does the work experiences one got in his/her own country count here?
PLEASE REPLY. 1.Yes. 2.If you have not worked in Canada before now, this question does not apply to you. You will have a chance to utilize your experience later on in the eligibility/registration phase for express entry. Cheers. |

azeezbaba: @ Solomonwis and Damkollins,
I filled a CSE form that my address and visa office be changed as a result of my new status (F1 status in US) but I got the mail below as a response from ACCRA.
Dear Madam / Sir,
This is in response to your email (see below).
Under Canada ’s Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and Regulations, file transfers are carried out only for reasons of program integrity and not at the request of the applicant or at their designated representative. Visa offices are not required to transfer applications for permanent or temporary entry to Canada .
Visa applications are to be reviewed by officers with the local knowledge and expertise necessary to conduct an effective case review.
We have examined your request for a transfer of your file and determined your application will be more effectively assessed by keeping your file in ACCRA.
If you do not wish to continue processing your application in ACCRA you may withdraw your application. You must then send a written and signed withdrawal request to this office. If you have paid the Right of Permanent Residence fee, it would be refunded.
If you chose to withdraw your application and re-apply in OTTAWA you must submit new application fees and your file will go to the end of the processing queue.
For a list of countries and corresponding Canadian visa offices, go to: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/missions.asp .
At this time your file will continue to be processed in this office.
Please be advised that your address has been updated accordingly.
Regards,
My question is what if Accra requires me to send in a new PCC? How will I do that as I am now here in the US
Thank you solomonwis: Unfortunately,as it stands you would have no choice but to continue processing your permanent visa application in Accra.
Securing a new PCC from Nigeria even when you are outside Nigeria is not a difficult task. All you need is your finger print, passport photograph and your passport bio data page, the rest can be done in Nigeria.I would advise you start the process of collecting the PCC form, fill (without putting a date) and send to trusted relatives/friends in Nigeria who would take it down to the appropriate quarters in Nigeria at the right time for processing. In addition to the response given ,PCC is the simplest of reasons that can negatively affect your application. Infact if you have done finger printing before here, you only need to send a friend /relative to them......at the usual cost. I have more than 2 buddies who did Nigerian PCC from the middle east. Incase no options for you ,explore the option in the link below.... http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/africa/nigeria.asp Calm down .....you're good. Cheers. |

In addition to the SINP that is currently ongoing ,the Novia Scotia province nomination scheme is out too....the instructions are almost the same with FSWP with little difference in the eligible NOC professions which is 29 for Novia Scotia. Please go through the instructions manual below especially for those that have all documents ready but could not send for FSWP . Please note that CLB 7 for IELTS still stands here (minimum of 6 in each of the 4 tests) and you also need minimum of 67 points. http://novascotiaimmigration.com/wp-content/uploads/Nova-Scotia-Demand-Express-Entry-Pilot-Stream-Guidelines-December-2014.pdf Solomonwis already advised that applicants should weight options of preferred provincial to apply since you need to be careful as the provinces normally share information . Other than limited professions here ,i feel comfortable with NSNP to SINP but i think it's relative to individual applicants. Cheers |

Most of us will never know the quality in us if there is no medium to express our feelings/advices /questions /suggestions /arguments and wishes. Even though we have had arguments and disagreements ,it's for a common purpose. If our leaders ruling us are blessed with beautiful minds like a subset of us here,Nigeria will be a better place for all of us and maybe....other countries will be seeking our citizenship too. In all places we may find ourselves in future ,let's remember that we can still give Nigeria a good image. Thanks to you all. Cheers. |

DaRocha: Dear all, please now that we have submitted our applications, will CIC send us a mail acknowledging receipt? Or what will they do and when? I also observed that they are yet to update their website on whether more caps have been reached. Someone should assist. First of all,be happy that your application is already in CIC facilty . Regarding correspondence from them,it depends . If you have used a credit /debit card ,you will surely know when you're charged by reason of the sms/email alert you will get almost after the process is carried out. This will be followed up by a waiting period of between 2 weeks to 6 weeks depending on the volume of application with CIC for you to get a mail from them telling you that your application have been given a positive eligibility review which is the best email you should be expecting now from CIC. If you have used a demand draft ,you will never get notification but will just be in the waiting period until you receive the positive eligibility mail from CIC .You can however get details of your demand draft cashment from the bank where it was done for you.Though it may not be urgent but they can get the details out if they want to help you. Whichever way,you need a lotssssssss of patience for this waiting period to be over . Wishing you the best in this new year. Cheers. |
