In the mid 2006, I gained admission to GCI, school II as a boarder… I am an easy going guy that loves being quiet when lonely but my loneliness didn’t last long as an hostelite. I could still recall from those days when I’m always crying because I’m a newbie which made some of my mates laughed at me and some seniors too. One common thing about the senior students was that they love to ride we juniors. They bully us, threaten with cane and labour… As for me, I am just an easy going tout that does almost everything needed to be done ‘then’ till I later turn into a gangster…. As a student with no experience, I don’t know anything about s*x or anything…. Then, I taught romance and sleeping on top each other leads to giving birth ‘then’… I mingle with almost every student I came across in the school, guess that was where the fame emerges…. Many seniors liked me and wanted to make me their school son maybe because the Yoruba I speak is fluent or because I follow the laid down rules and regulations. I could still recall vividly the day my mum handed me over to a senior who happens to be my school father. I didn’t know I will be enjoying in hostel ‘then’ because I will sleeping with my school father in the seniors room. CLICK HERE FOR FULL STORY, READING IS FUN That day was the first day I saw tears in my mum’s face, the tears generated tears from my eyes too because I never leave home to anywhere, I don’t go on holiday, I don’t visit families, I hardly use more than three days in those place my parents and our house isn’t located… Just don’t know why. After she left, I still cried for like 2 weeks after tears now finally left me. lolz. I felt like my parent want me to suffer because they sent to a boarding school, I didn’t know I moved into another world of (God-Knows)… On a saturday morning after everybody resumes from the mid term break, we are inside the dining hall after we’ve finished our labor with some of my friends that are also my seniors and some of my mates too named Jibola, Lolade, Tevez, Lukman and Ozeoma. It was meant to be the end. End to talk about Mourinho being sacked, end to in-house problems between Mourinho and his players. After all they had won their last two matches against Norwich and Maccabi Tel Aviv. But now at home, the blues' London bridge fell down. Whilst they may not win the Premier League, a top four finish did not look out the question prior to this match. But, Bournemouth played very well at Stamford Bridge. Artur Boruc made some key saves and once again Chelsea looked toothless up front and social media went nuts. Mind you, Bournemouth is just coming from the championship. See the funny tweets after the jump... lol! http://www.kingpredicts.com/2015/12/chelsea-loses-to-bournemouth-at-home.html?m=1 Source:

Lionel Messi was named La Liga’s best striker and best player in the 2014-15 season at the LFP (Spanish Football League) Gala Awards Ceremony on Monday, helping Barcelona to claim five prizes to rival club Real Madrid’s three. Messi, 28, scored 43 La Liga goals last campaign as Barca won the league title as well as the Copa del Rey and the Champions League. It is the sixth time the Argentina international has won the prizes, with Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo beating him in 2013-14. “I’m proud to receive this award ahead of so many important players in La Liga,” Messi, who was named on the FIFA Ballon d’Or shortlist alongside Ronaldo and Barca teammates Neymar, said. “This award in particular I want to dedicate to my son Thiago [aged 3] even if he still doesn’t understand very well. Every time I leave the house he gets angry and asks me: ‘Papa, are you going again to score goals?’ This award is for him.” Ronaldo was named the Fans’ Five-Star Player after supporters voted for their favourite player on mahou.es following each matchday last season. Messi, whose best player award was determined by technical data, added: “I am happy to be once more among the three best, and to go to another gala. “Happy to be with Neymar. Luis Suarez also deserved to be among the three best, but that is to take nothing away from Cristiano Ronaldo, who also deserved it.” Goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, forward Neymar and head coach Luis Enrique also claimed prizes at the ceremony. Bravo was named best goalkeeper after conceding 19 times during the 2014-15 season, and he said “being here is an enormous privilege and receiving this award is a dream come true.” Neymar was named best player from the Americas, and the Brazil star said: “I am really happy to have won the award. I thank my teammates for all they do.” Real Madrid duo Sergio Ramos and James Rodriguez were named best defender and midfielder respectively, while Valencia’s Sofiane Feghouli was named best African player. Article written by Ihechukwu Njoku, a freelance Nigerian journalist. Read below… Nigerian Pastor T.B. Joshua has released a controversial YouTube video purportedly showing the healing of a man with horrific snake-like scales across his body. The clip titled, ‘A Video You Will Never Forget’ shows Mr Jude Oraka from Anambra State, Nigeria, receiving prayer from the popular cleric during a prayer service at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) in Lagos. Oraka, a driver by profession, claimed he fell victim to a strange skin disease six years ago which “defied medical comprehension”. Jude’s sister described him as a “walking corpse” whom the family had given up on. However, several months after receiving prayer, Oraka returned with smooth skin to testify that “he was healed by Jesus Christ through T.B. Joshua”. The clip has already racked up over 100,000 views since its release and attracted hundreds of comments from both skeptics and believers alike. Joshua is not a stranger to controversy, making headlines this week for not showing up at a court case surrounding the deadly collapse of a building within his church premises last year. Emmanuel TV, which debuted on DStv and GOtv last month, is one of the most popular Christian television stations in Africa. It’s YouTube channel has over 265,000 subscribers, making it among the most subscribed Christian channels worldwide. No two people can agree all the time and even when you are in love, you are bound to fight sometimes. Arguing in a relationship is perfectly healthy, but when that arguing gets out of control, or it is happening too often, then that is when fighting can become destructive. The only way that you can stop arguments being totally unproductive, is to sit down and agree on some basic rules that you will both follow when you do disagree. If you are currently going through a phase with your partner where it feels like you are constantly at each other’s throats, read these ten tips on how to avoid fighting in a relationship. 1. Listen more and talk less Talking over one another and not listening to what each person has to say will never resolve an argument. You have a right to get your point of view across, but you should also listen to your partner’s side of things too. Make an agreement that you will take it in turns to talk and, when one person is talking, the other person will pay attention and listen. 2. Call a time out when you need to When you do feel that the argument is getting out of control and too heated, take a half hour break, so that you both get a chance to calm down and think things through properly. When people get angry, they tend to get fixated on just one sticking point of an argument and then they start to go around in circles. Take a break, preferably in separate rooms, and will give you both the chance to cool down a little. 3. Never threaten the relationship Don’t treat every argument like it is the make or break of the relationship, and never threaten an end to the relationship, if you don’t really mean it. Threats of splitting up, made in the heat of an argument, are just a form of low handed blackmail and sometimes they can backfire disastrously. 4. Try not to raise your voice Another important tip on how to stop fighting in a relationship is to avoid raising your voice. Everyone is guilty of raising their voice in an argument, but it will only make the argument more difficult to resolve. If you start shouting, then he will start shouting too and, before you know it, you are not even listening to each other at all. It is difficult to keep your anger under control, but try, because the moment you both start to shout, that’s when you are probably both not making a lot of sense anymore. 5. Try to resolve an argument and stop trying to win it Next tip on how to stop fighting in a relationship is to try to find ways to resolve an argument and stop trying to win it. The objective of an argument should be to find a solution or a compromise. If you are both just trying to win and to score points off one another, the underlying problem will still be there, unresolved. A real win, is when you both accept the solution and are reasonably happy with the outcome. 6. Learn to accept each other’s flaws No one in this world is perfect and flawless, so our next tip on how to stop fighting in a relationship is to learn to accept each other for who you are and stop arguing over things that really don’t matter. Often, arguments that get out of control are started by picking on something completely trivial and then they escalate from there. So, if he does have a bad memory and he forgot your anniversary this year, remember that there are far worse things that he could have done. 7. Work out what it is you are really fighting about Very often, the thing that you are fighting about is the not the real root cause of the problem, but it’s just a way of venting some of your frustration. Perhaps it’s not so much about the anniversary that he forgot after all, maybe it’s more about how taken for granted you feel and that’s the thing that you should be talking about. 8. Learn how to back down and say SORRY One of the biggest problems that you find when a fight gets heated is that no one wants to back down and lose face. You might both need to practice saying sorry and facing up to the part that you have played in a fight. Remember, there should be no winner and loser, and for that to happen, you might both need to apologise. 9. Don’t drag up the past Next important tip on how to stop fighting in a relationship is to never drag up past disputes, nor use those as weapons in the current argument. There is no point at all in going over old ground again, so try and stick to the real point of disagreement between you. Avoid using spiteful language and saying things just to hurt your partner too, because if that gets out of hand, something could be said that is regretted later. 10. Make a point of making up When the argument does get resolved, do take the making up seriously as well. Agree to draw a definite line under the argument and put the whole thing behind you. Your relationship is no doubt far more important to you than this one disagreement, so when the fight is finished, forget it and move on. If you are angry, don’t sin by nursing your grudge. Don’t let the sun go down with you still angry—get over it quickly. (Bible, Ephesians 4:26 source--+ http://gistnaira.com/forum2_theme_112181945.xhtml?tema=5

Is there anything you need, whatsoever, Spirituality can grant you hope, stability, and acceptance. The relationship you have with a higher being is sacred. While many people deem themselves devoted to their God, there are some of us who are longing for a deeper connection. Whether we need specific guidance or wish for the power of faith, we want someone or something to believe in. Here are several ways anyone can achieve spiritual growth. 1. PRAYING OR MEDITATING IN SOLITUDE It’s important that you take 15-20 minutes a day to pray or meditate. By relieving your body of insignificant thoughts you allow your God to connect with you. You can begin any meditation session with a prayer and then you should sit still and relax your mind. 2. FOLLOWING THE EXAMPLE Whatever your beliefs, you must follow the way of the word. Practicing your faith means that you adhere to good morals and values. Respecting others, performing good deeds, leading an honest life, and remaining humble are just a few ways you can follow your higher being’s example. 3. JOINING A RELIGIOUS COMMUNITY If you’re looking for support or encouragement from those of the same faith, you should consider joining a community of believers. Most Christian churches embrace visitors. For example, Pastor Ed Young celebrates every new member to the house of worship. Because spreading the word is so important, churches see it as their duty to guide you in your journey. 4. BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER BELIEVERS Participating in study sessions or prayer groups will help build on your spiritual knowledge and present new perspectives. Spending time with friends and loved ones with the same beliefs will also keep you on the right spiritual track. If you ever spend time with people of a different faith, it’s wise to remember your own spirituality. 5. ASKING FOR HELP Praying generally means that you’re asking for help. When you or a loved one is facing emotional or physical hardships, you can rely on prayer for answers, cures, and hope for a better tomorrow. Trusting that your prayers will be answered is a crucial aspect in spirituality. 6. LISTENING FOR GUIDANCE Once you’ve successfully added daily prayer to your life, you must begin listening for answers. This can be very difficult for those just beginning their spiritual journeys. Because you won’t actually hear your God’s voice responding back, you need to look for signs. It takes a lot of patience and practice but in time you’ll see signs from God everywhere. 7. GIVING UP MATERIAL ITEMS When you attribute too much value to materialistic things such as jewelry or expensive electronics, you probably aren’t appreciating the world that surrounds you. Treasuring tangible items can lessen your spirituality since they’re meaningless and give money power. Donate clothes you never wear and gadgets you never use. Give to the less fortunate and see how quickly someone else will pay it forward. Enhancing your spirituality can be a very tough task. It takes courage, perseverance, and a willingness to believe in a higher power. Begin boosting your spirituality today by reflecting on your own beliefs and practices. source- http://gistnaira.com/forum2_theme_112181945.xhtml?tema=6 |
"Father forgive them, for they know not what they are
saying for now”. This was the response from the JAMB
boss Professor Dibu Ojerinde while reacting to the recent
uproar over the list of eligible candidates sent to
institutions.
According To him, the reason behind this new admission
policy is to help candidates not only get admission but
get it on time.
Below are excerpts of the exact words of the JAMB
Boss;
The big universities are overloaded. Can you imagine 8,000
students seeking for admission to study law in a university
that will take only 250 candidates for law! The remaining
7750 candidates will wait endlessly and hopelessly till the end
of the admission.
Or imagine 7500 candidates seeking for medicine in a
university. Of these 7500 candidates, 2000 scored above 250
in the UTME. The university has a carrying capacity of only
150 candidates for medicine. The remaining 7350 who scored
above 200 will be wasted. Particularly, 1750 candidates who
scored above 250 will be wasted while other universities
either do not have enough candidates or high scoring
candidates.
Courses like Biological Sciences, Agric Engineering and
related courses are lacking in candidacy!
We are saying, let's give them a feel of chance somewhere
else that has not gotten enough candidates by sending the
names of these HIGH scorers to "needy" universities.
The names of such surplus candidates are being distributed to
first Federal institutions, then State and finally Private
institutions in that order depending on:
• Availability of space in other universities,
• Choice of the course of the candidate,
• The geographical Zone of the choice of the candidate, and
• Performance of the candidate.
By this approach, wastage of HIGH scores will be reduced,
the fate of the candidates will be determined on time and yet
the interest of their areas of study may be satisfied.
addition, the concept of selection by
• Merit,
• Catchment Area, and
• Educationally Less Developed States
Will be adequately catered for.
However, I am not saying that everyone will get admission or
even get their original choice of course of study. But it is
better than wasting the time, finances, and good scores of
these candidates. We need to fill the available spaces as
given to us by the regulatory bodies like NUC, NBTE, and
NCCE.
If, however, a candidate does not want the given opportunity,
it is too "baaaad".
This scenario was made clear to the institutions during the
Policy meeting that took place on 14th July this year in Abuja.
Before the Policy meeting, we had discussions with the
representatives of the Federal, State, and Private universities
where the degree of the problems of candidates were
presented and solutions were proffered. These decisions were
backed up by copious statistics of applications to various
universities.
Again “Father forgive them, for they know not what they are
saying"
I believe that some so- called educational consultants have
some hidden agenda which are being thwarted by our
proactive steps. Let them know that this is a period of
CHANGE. If they do not CHANGE they will be CHANGED. cc lalasticlala |
A three-year-old boy, Emmanuel Samuel, died on Sunday after he fell inside a well in front of a building on Hassan Sule Street, Ita Oluwo, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos. The kindergarten pupil, his elder brother, Timileyin Samuel, and some of their friends were said to be playing around 3pm in the area when the deceased accidentally strayed into the well. PUNCH Metro learnt that residents and officials of the Lagos State Fire Service, who came to the area after receiving a distress call, had difficulties rescuing the victim due to the depth of the well. It was gathered that a member of the Oodua People’s Congress later summoned up courage and went down the well to rescue the boy at about 7pm. He brought out the boy dead. It was learnt that the well was dug about eight years ago by the landlord of the building but was abandoned when it did not produce water. Some youths were said to have become angry with the landlord for leaving the well open. They reportedly stormed the residence and broke some window glasses. The landlord, Bamidele Ogunwole, was said to have been arrested on Monday after the incident was reported at the Ogijo Police Division, Ogun State. The family members of the deceased were still wailing on Monday when PUNCH Metro visited the area. Emmanuel’s mother, Kikelolomo, who spoke in tears, described the deceased as her “everything.” She said, “He had brothers and sisters, but he was my everything. He was very intelligent and smart. It was his brother that rushed to tell me he had drowned.” The father, Sergeant Abu Samuel, said what pained him most was the fact that the landlord buried his child without his consent. “I was on duty when I was called that my son had drowned only to come back home and be told he was dead. To add insult to injury, that man (the landlord) buried my child somewhere in Agodo without my consent,” he said. READ ALSO: Conjoined twins born in Sapele Hospital, dies 2 minutes later Residents described Emmanuel’s death as avoidable. One of them, who identified herself only as Esther, said, “It is very easy for anybody to get trapped in a well that is left open like this. One of the man’s tenants told me that they had complained several times to the landlord, but he ignored them.” The lawyer for the family, P.O. Idogun, accused the police of “foot-dragging,” adding that no relative of the suspect had shown up at the police station. AD: DISCOVER How To Get Visa To Any Country EASILY Without Going Through Agent The Chairman of the community development association, Alara Ogodo, blamed the suspect for burying the child without the approval of his family. The Ogun State Police spokesperson, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, said the landlord had presented himself to the police. He said, “He is in our custody. We will do something about the case.” source== http://gistnaira.com/forum2_theme_112181943.xhtml?tema=6
