Troops of the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army have dismantled gunrunning syndicates notorious for trafficking Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALWs) across the Niger Delta region.

This was disclosed in a statement on September 8, 2025, by Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Danjuma Jonah Danjuma. He confirmed that the operation led to the interception of two English pistols, four locally fabricated pistols, and a double-barrel gun.
