From my observation on the RN5, nothing out of the ordinary I do say. Just an improvement on the flow of the UI, some new features but not functionality and I didn't enjoy the battery life. Bugs here and there (it's in beta state, do bugs are inevitable) but on my MI6, the camera department got great improvement over the MIUI 9. Portrait mode using front camera, even the back camera shoots great pictures.

All those who need screen protectors and 360 case for xiaomi redmi note 5 and redmi 5 plus should contact me this morning. I wlll be going out to send out some phones and screen protector orders today. Which one is better between mi8 and Mix 2S

From my findings across the internet; the Mi8 is rated slightly higher than the mix 2s due to battery performance, AMOLED display, IR face unlock, and front facing camera. But I personally will prefer Mix 2S over the Mi8 because of the number of LTE bands supported, wireless charging while the front camera position is annoying.

I have been confused as to which to upgrade to between Mi8 and Mix 2S from my present MI6.

Anyone using Mix 2S please? What's the experience like? I kind of prefer it to the Mi8 because of the supported Glo LTE band. Need user reviews. Thanks

Guys please, a friend of mine has a note 5 china that's been giving him issues for two weeks now, its the 6/64gb. the battery doesn't do 5 hrs and the mouthpiece acts up. its China ROM. Any solution? he has done factory reset several times and he has also drained his battery several times. there is currently no update available on the phone. All suggestions are welcome.

Is your bootloader unlocked? Follow Jboixxx guide somewhere in this forum or a visit to MIUI forum, will possibly search for it and tag you. That's if the chiefs cc above don't reply before then.

Especially that camera. I watch mi mix 2s vs galaxy S7 edge on tech tablet and it surprises me that S7 beat it in audio recording, video and even camera. What will now happen if its vs S8 or the almighty S9

Please don't rock the MIUI fan base table + those S phones ain't affordable like our Mi series��. But am happy the new batches of Mi8 runs AMOLED display from Samsung, that should bring in lovely display of images

Ok good. If you have the patience, unlock bootloader and flash global stable rom for mi 6 if you are not comfortable with the bugs or you can download the rom manually and flash. Check @jboixxx profile for steps.

While for mi 5, wait for the global rom on oreo. It may come before miui 10

Thanks GrandMufti, I presently play my contributory role as a beta team member in Xiaomi forum, bug testing. Bootloader is unlocked and I know my way around the flashing drill�.

We await the MIUI 10 across board...

To be honest with you, beta roms ,sometimes, are full of bugs. Whenever you experience bugs, flash the rom again or factory reset.

That aside, oroe is available for mi 6.

Modified**** mi 5 global developer rom is already on oreo. So expect it on stable rom in no distant time

Thanks, I run Oreo 8.0 beta nightly on MI6 while MI5 is stable global 7.0.
I admire Xiaomi for bringing great hardware at affordable price having used Samsung S2 to S5 phones but sometimes our Oliver Twist will always ask for more; Glo LTE support, good camera, etc.

"Besides the point" is your personal perspective and I won't question that but Dev path is not same as stable path:China or Global. My own point

With all due respect and no urge to upset anyone or shake any table; u speak facts and not hearsay or sidetalks. My MI5 is on Android 7.0 with 2018-05-01 security patch which like I said earlier just had the security patch update few days ago from 2018-03-01.
Am a Global MIUI forum beta team member and I speak facts sir, a tour through the forum of MIUI tells it all. Even Xiaomi CEO mentioned regular updates at the recent MIUI 10 unveiling; that it will be improved on.
I run global beta rom on my MI6 because I once complained in this forum about updates and was advised to go that way if I require updates. Not every average user should go the buggy beta rom way. My Nokia 5 receives promptly update thanks to the pure Android flavour.
I have used 4 MIUI devices and speak from experience, no misleading anyone please.

This is official miui China Dev and official dev rom. 8.0 is available.

China MIUI ROMs are usually higher and well packed than the Global ROMs. But Dev ROMs from my experience are full of bugs.

How many Xiaomi phones from last year are running in Android 8.1? Even my MI6 is yet to get 8.0 not to talk of my other MI5 that just recently got Android 7 with May 2018 security patches yesterday. Other users here can testify of that except you go beta version direction way. Meanwhile since OEMs churn out few and give them promptly updates release support
