CrimeNigerian Gets 20 Years For Drugging, Raping And Trafficking Rosettenville Teen by Dandeedadrunk(op): 9:07pm On Mar 13, 2017
Nigerian national Ugochukwu Eke was sentenced to 20 years for drugging, raping and trafficking a minor by the South Gauteng High Court on Monday 13 March 2017.
JOHANNESBURG – Ugochukwu Eke was on Monday sentenced to 20 years imprisonment by the Johannesburg High Court for drugging and sexually exploiting an underage girl and living off the earnings of sexual exploitation, being an accomplice to her rape and trafficking

The Nigerian national committed the crimes in 2015.

Judge Majake Mabesele read out the charges that Eke was facing which included sexual exploitation of a child, living off the earnings of sexual exploitation, being an accomplice to rape and contravening the Prevention and Combating of Trafficking in Persons Act.

“What happened to her was cruel, inhumane and degrading,” said Judge Mabesele.

The judge noted that Eke was 28 when he committed the crimes and had been living in South Africa for eight years. The victim was only 15 when she ran away from her Rosettenville home, south of Johannesburg and was taken advantage of by Eke.

Before he pronounced the sentence Judge Mabesele said he found it disturbing that Eke confidently told the court that he was making a living out of drugs and prostitution thus he deserved a severe punishment.

As Eke was led down to the cells, the accused’s supporters present in the public gallery waved at him.

During the trial, the victim who is now 17 told the court that Eke provided her with drugs whenever he wanted her to engage in sex with the men who had paid him for her services.

She said the drugs Eke forced her to take gave her energy. She said was able to entertain as many as six men a night. Afterwards the accused would pocket most of the money and only give her R50 for food.

Delivering sentence the Judge said: “It is beyond debate that she was exploited and forced to prostitute”.

The mother urged teen girls to choose their friends wisely and said she felt her daughter was not safe because the girl who got her involved with Eke knew where they stayed.

National Prosecution Authority (NPA) spokeswoman Phindi Mjonondwane said that this case was the first case to be finalised under the new human trafficking act that came to pass in August 2015.

“It can never be business as usual when young kids are used for sexual exploitation. As the state, we had to come up with formal approach against such crimes,” said Mjonondwane.

“Within this new act the state is now is a position to efficiently deal with serious crimes.”

She encouraged Rosettenville residents to not lose hope the South African law, and to stand up and work with the police to fight crime in their community.

“We believe that crime is crime whether committed by South African or foreign national.

“A sentence like this will help to deter other criminals from committing similar crimes like this.”

Travel12 Critical Points To US Bound Visitors From Nigeria by Dandeedadrunk(op): 9:53pm On Mar 11, 2017
Nigeria is not affected with the travel ban to US with the executive order of President Trump, however, the immigration officer at the port of entry will ask anyone with Visitors visa questions to determine if he or she can come in or not. It is not discrimination.

Note, the Visa you have from Lagos and Abuja office of US Embassy or Consulate means nothing until it is validated by the immigration officer on American soil.

1. Do not get your visa and Nigeria passport thru third party or through fake source. If u do, it may not pass thru the system.

2. Make sure your passport does not have visa of those banned countries on your Nigerian Passport either as visitor or business that will create a red flag for you to be seen as a friend of the enemies.

3. Look directly at the immigration officer in the eyes when you talk, note, looking away during interrogation is a sign u are hidding something. USA is an eye contact believable society unlike our culture.

4. Be truthful in your statement because the immigration officer might have dealt with the same lies you are trying to spin on him thousands of times, they are trained to detect liars or smooth talker.

5. Declare exactly what you have on you, if it is two thousand dollars, don't give a wrong figure, failure to do this, can create problems u can easily avoid.

Tell the truth. For example if u have been to any of those countries on US banned list in the past and the Visa of such nation is on your passport. Tell the truth don't spin anything, be truthful and tell the immigration what u went to those countries for if you can, have document printed of such visit and store in your folder to support you claim.

6. Have the phone number and address of the family member or hotel you will stay in America and possibly print and store in a folder past email communication with your contact incase no one picks up your calls from the immigration office incase u need to.

7. Do not play the role of a good Samaritan, never get involved in any interrogation of others , mind your own business is the keyword.

8. Never help anyone to hold any object not even babies, call the attention of U.S. official to anyone who needs help and walk away from any crowd gathering place.

9. Do not sign any document until U see an immigration Lawyer, if u can contact one before leaving Nigeria, the better for you. His number should be in your folder since u are allowed at least one phone call, the Oracle says your lawyer is your first and preferred calls.

10. Don't forget to pray before you travel and don't discuss politics with anyone on the plane, and immigration center. u may be talking to an agent of the law. Again mind your business leave, Trump and Obama politics to Americans. Remember what your mother told u about "Shobolation" this is time to make use of it.

11. Please make sure the person inviting u to America has no criminal record, you can research on your invitee online on some special sites. The system can trace the criminal history of anyone in America, you may be a suspect even from the Airport if the invitee is a drug dealer under watch.

12. Look at your personal hygiene. Clean shave, nice body smell and avoid stories can get u cleared faster than u think be precise in your comments if you are asked of your name don't ask the immigration officer to look it in the Passport, nobody is interested in your nick names.

US is a beautiful country to visit or live especially to those who mind their business and are lawful. It is still a place for immigrants and always be.

Have a wonderful trip and on a lighter mood, stay away from CNN before the trip, the TV station is likely to create fear in you, than the trip ahead.

Best of luck.

I truly do not have the right response to the issue however, I would suggest you apply for a visit visa and take the program while you are here. I don't know if the rules are changed but before now, you could take such short courses on a visiting visa. As for your wife, it would be nice to apply with her as a family.
Alright boss. Do you suggest I start the application here in America ,or when I get back to Nigeria?

Thanks

Good morning my Ogas,

I'm in USA presently on visit visa, I'm planning to enroll for a 3weeks course in canada. The school replied me that I can attend the course using visit/tourist visa. They also promised to send me letter if I pay certain amount of money.

My questions are:
Should I apply to canada using the school or I should apply for tourist visa, then on getting their I'll enroll to the school [Ontario]?

If I'm applying for tourists visa, like how long would it take sir?

My course schedule is March next year, when do you think I can apply?

Can I apply here [online] in America or I should wait till I return to Nigeria?

Suggestions of needed documents?

My wife was refused USA visa twice, can I apply with her if you suggest I go through Canadian tourist/visit visa or I apply alone?

Thanks
