Hello,

I need advice.

My goal is to relocate to Canada. I'm currently a 3rd year Nursing student (BSc). Due to the strike and pandemic and uncertainties surrounding the educational system last year, I closed my eyes and applied to just a school (college to be precise) for Bsc Nursing.

I got in few days ago!!!

Here lies my dilemma: I'm currently in 300L and if things go as planned with 4 semesters in a year, I'd be graduating next year; although I don't think personally that that is feasible. Nasu and Ssanu is currently on strike, only God knows if in a few months time, ASUU won't on the basis that FG has not fulfilled their promises.

If God and ASUU willing, I'd graduate in 2 years (this year and next year, Although I'll be adding extra 6 months for uncertainties). I still have to do 1 year internship then NYSC that's about 4.5 years already. If I decide after then to go through PPR, I think I'll need at least 1yr work experience to at least boost CRS score before I start applying. All in all that might take me extra 2 years if I get accepted or 1.5 years... That will be bringing my calculations to 6 or 6.5 years that's 2026/2027. And even if I get there, I'll have to take NCLEX exams before I can get a job. It's also recommended to do at least 1yr brushup course for internationally educated nurses. The certification by provincial council of nurses takes time too... So that's extra 6 months before job search if I take express NCLEX without brush up programs; and 1.5 years if I take the brush up before the exam. That is bring my years calculations to 6.5/7 years or 7.5/8years from this year before I can be licensed.



On the other hand if I accept the admission, I don't think I can transfer my credit because this is the first set to be admitted solely for Bsc Nursing and not practical nursing. If I accept, in 4 years I'd graduate and write my NCLEX upon final year. So I'd be certified to practice there in 4 years and a sure job and 3 years PGWP will be waiting for me because I sure can network and make use of every available opportunity.

So please what should I do. I'm confused, I really want to go but doesn't have a sponsor. Or even someone that can sponsor just my first year with the aim of payment back before I grad.

Someone advised me to just stay and grab my degree and there after try UK or USA since NCLEX can be written here for USA though.

Lady n u knnw all d corners of ur course of study,u wil beat d HR,any body recruited by grooming is startin frm d scratch,dats where evry body in d industry started from,a Credit officer,u go to field,its just dat u already hav d particular place u r goin to,dats if u inherit d union accordin to groomin slangs but if nt u wil mobilise,but I bet u pple wil come,na money matter b dis.no much stress

@tosin dats not tru, for those dat where invited I wish u d best,if u scale tru der salary for d six months of probation is 65plus minus pension n PAYE tins u take home around 52k,after 6month its 85k minus pensn n co u take home 78k, wkly transport is 2500.i dont knw y pple wil just b sayin rubbish abt wat dey dont knw,grooming center its a microfinance institution

@victor101 d interview is two stages,one u wil do a written test,maths english n current affairs all togeda,mostly der numba one questn iss always an application letter,after dat u do d interview,wich is a group tin,make sure u r well grounded in ur field of study,u wil b ask questn abt d course u study,n if odas r asked if u knw d answer,it wil b an added points to ur marks, salary for d first 6months of probabtn (60plus cos pension wil b deducted n oda paye)so u take home close to 57plus after 6months its (84 minus pension tins,ur take home is 78k,op am able to help
