The Senate President, NOUN Students Development Forum (NSDF Ilorin) Fagbemi Kazeem has been suspended following a recall by his department, Islamic Studies Department; and an alleged forgery of Identity Card, as well as unavailability of Certificate of Office that certified him as a Senator.
The suspension was made known alongside the swearing-in of the deputy senate president Olosun Muhammed as Acting Senate President during plenary section of the Senate on Tuesday at the law court room of the study centre.

At the plenary, six petitions was level against Kazeem Fagbemi which includes the Department, Students as well as a letter issued by the central executive council to the Ex-Senate President Daniel Ayantoye in respect to some of the petitions sent them.
Speaking at the plenary, the president of Islamic studies department Salman Omotosho who explained that Kazeem had presented himself as a senator representing the department during the registration of senators without his knowledge. Added that he became aware of the issue after the enlistment into the senate.

He also disclosed that unlike other departments that conduct elections before assumption into office, they only undergo nomination in the department. Added that, though, there is yet to be any current nomination, he remains the President of the department and as such reserve the right to speak on behalf of his department.

Meanwhile, the Former Senate President who was docked for over four hours during plenary disclosed that Kazeem had presented letter stating he will be representing his department.
On the issue of forged Identity Card and unavailability of certificate of office, Daniel disclosed that prior to the registrations done by other senators; he (Kazeem) failed to complete the registration procedure by paying the fees as other senators, which according to him was why the documents were not given to him. Added that there was an initial agreement to give him the documents after payment is cleared.

While reacting to the issues, Kazeem who noted that Omotosho was not in right position to speak for the department stressed that the department currently does not have a President. He also said though Omotosho was the President during the enlistment, he (kazeem) had to present a letter to the Senate by himself without informing him because the registration was about to close. On the issue of non-payment and forgery, he explained that the fund was used to refurbish the Senate Maze. Meanwhile, the tuesday plenary section was disrupted when Sen. Nurudeen Agaka attempted to carryout the Senate Maze while the sitting was still in section. The disruption which later led to a decision to hold a Peace Talk on Wed. between the Senate and Exec. was foiled following the locking of the NSDF office by the Management until the arrival of the Acting Centre Director Dr. Mrs. Raimat Oloyede.
