Science/TechnologyI've Diagnosed Over Solar Systems In Nigeria — Here Are The 5 Problems I Key by Dannex201(op): 12:30pm On Jul 02
Guys, I need to share this because the pattern is too consistent to ignore.
Over the past few months I've been running battery health checks and system diagnostics on solar installations across Abuja and Lagos. Here's what keeps showing up:
1. Wrong battery size for the load
Most systems are undersized from day one. The installer quoted what the customer could afford, not what the home actually needs. Result: battery hits 0% every night, degrades in 6-12 months, customer blames "bad battery" when the real problem is the calculation was wrong from the start.
2. Fake or substandard batteries
This one is painful. Customers pay for 200Ah and get 120Ah actual capacity. You won't know until the battery starts failing earlier than expected. By then the installer has disappeared.
3. Deep discharge killing good batteries
Even genuine batteries die early when discharged below 20% repeatedly. Most systems don't have proper low-voltage cutoff configured. The inverter keeps drawing until the battery is dead flat. This alone can cut battery lifespan from 5 years to 18 months.
4. Panels not generating what they should
Dust, wrong tilt angle, partial shading from a neighbor's building — most panels in Nigeria are producing 60-70% of their rated capacity. Nobody checks. The installer installed and left
5. No baseline data
This is the biggest one. When the system starts underperforming, there's nothing to compare against. No one took readings at installation. So customers can't prove the system is degrading or hold anyone accountable.
If your system isn't lasting the night, your generator is still running more than it should, or your battery is only 12-18 months old and already weak — one of these five is likely the reason.
We built a free tool that lets you check your battery health and system sizing in about 60 seconds: getdrsolar.com
Not selling anything. Just input your system specs and it tells you where the problem likely is.
Technology MarketDeye Inverter Error Codes Explained — What They Mean And How To Fix Them by Dannex201(op): 3:16pm On Jul 01
If your Deye inverter is showing a fault code and you
don't know what it means, this post is for you.

F01 — Grid voltage too high
F07 — Output overload
F22 — Battery voltage too low
F51 — BMS communication fault
F55 — Battery over temperature (critical)

Most of these can be fixed without calling a technician
if you know what to do.

I put together a complete guide covering every common
Deye fault code in Nigeria — what causes it and the
exact fix steps:

https://www.getdrsolar.com/blog/deye-inverter-problems-nigeria/

Also covers:
- Why Deye inverter is not switching to battery when
NEPA goes
- Solar panels showing 0W in bright sunlight
- SolarmanPro app not connecting

Technology MarketHow To Know If Your Solar Battery Is Fake In Nigeria by Dannex201(op): 12:12pm On Jul 01
If your solar battery drains faster than expected, heats
up under normal load, or the capacity doesn't match the
label — it might be fake.

Over 30% of batteries sold in open markets in Nigeria are
counterfeit. Most people don't find out until the battery
fails within months.

I put together a free guide covering 5 ways to verify
your battery before it is too late:

- Voltage drop test
- Heat test under load
- Capacity calculation method
- Brand marking verification (Pylontech, Felicity, BAK)
- Inverter error code signals
