Ask yourself -what exactly is sin? Sin refers to disobedience of the commandments of God which are given us in the teachings of Jesus Christ, the New Covenant Law of God. What that means is that not everything is sin but instead only that which is defined as such in the teachings of Jesus Christ, teachings that can be found written in the 4 Gospels(Matthew, Mark, Luke and John).

By the way, the opposite of sin is faith. Yes, where disobedience is sin, obedience of God's commandments counts towards your faith in God. So, whenever you make the conscious decision to obey God, what you are doing is increasing your faith in God...something that we know is of greater value to one than racking up of sins against God.

So how then do you overcome sin? In order to overcome sin(disobedience), you have to instead choose obedience. So, where you know that Lust is sin, choose instead not to lust. How? Well, Jesus Christ said that the only way is to continue to accept(trust) and obey His teachings(Truth) which are His commandments to you. When you know His Truth , then the Truth shall set you free.

So, the work you have to do is learn His truth - an easy way is to read through His teachings paying attention to the commandments contained, and trusting in and doing each as you encounter them. Continue to do this and before long, you will note that you are no longer a slave to sin. Ofcourse even then you must continue to accept(trust) and obey the teachings/commandments of Jesus Christ to stay in Him as well....
