Nobody said academy players will dislodge first team players but that amongst the academy players some have shown more talent and performed better than the Fletchers and should be given at least equal opportunity.

Amass was our best academy LB L which is why fans were in support. Chido Obi has obvious potential and impressed in the academy as well more than his peers in the same position.

In the case of the Fletchers there are other players in the academy who are as good or better who are not getting opportunities like them. That is the issue people have.
Very soon those guys not getting opportunities will clock 20-21 and will no longer be viewed as prospects and would have lost their chance to the Fletchers.

Let's agree to disagree then.

Several people feel that academy players like Ibragimov, for instance, should be more integrated into the first team by now, instead of Jack Fletcher. He’s more talented, more versatile and even stronger than Jack Fletcher.

Also, you can’t tell me Tyler Fletcher is ahead of someone like Jacob Devaney in terms of ability, maturity and so on.

Yet those Fletcher kids were getting tangible minutes over those guys.

If things were done on merit (not nepotism), those are the kids many feel who would be getting into the first team. That’s the koko.

And I ask again,what positions do Devaney and Ibragimov play and who do they dislodge in the first team?
The coaching team obviously feels the Fletcher twins have a better chance of dislodging first team players in their positions.
In my opinion only a senseless football manager would integrate two players into his team for sentimental reasons knowing that if things go south and the messy stuff hits the fan he will be the one with his neck on the chopping block.
There is no way Carrick integrates not one but two players into Manchester United's preseason team for emotional reasons. It is just impossible. There has just got to be a potential the coaching crew have seen that may not be obvious to me and you.

What Leyqute is saying is this; Chido Obi and Amass were by far the best academy players in their position at the time so fans who follow the academy were okay with them having the period of adaptation.

For the Fletchers, there are some players who most of the fans that follow the academy believe are better who are not getting these chances. It is not just about the Fletchers struggling but who they are blocking.

That is the grouse that many fans have with playing them. It appears they are collecting opportunities from other academy prospects. Their poor performance with the senior team is just the extra confirmation for people’s concerns.

Can you mention the best academy players from last season and then mention who they will dislodge in the first team?
Coaches have different reasons for integrating different players into a team from an academy into the first team. It may not be visible to fans who are probably rooting for their favourites for aesthetic reasons.
At times certain players are introduced for specific reasons.

The Fletcher criticism from most people here is actually on point. The complaints weren’t just about playing those boys, it was about giving them more minutes OVER other academy products who many feel are ahead in terms of talent, ability and several areas.

The criticism was about the inferred nepotism. Not that those kids aren’t good or that they shouldn’t be integrated into the starting eleven.

That Dorgu hater, I never meet him kind.

Unfortunately,we did not witness the same standard of scrutiny applied last season on academy players like Chido Obi and Harry Amass. Rather the narrative being pushed on these pages were that they are kids and fresh from the academy.
As for the guy who has never seen anything good in Dorgu? The less said the better but it becomes irritating after a while.

The negativity is just ridiculous.
There is one guy here always on Dorgu's case no matter what the player does on the field. The Fletcher twins are also a regular target,forgetting these players are just kids being integrated gradually by Mr Carrick.
Those negative people forget that an average Chelsea team won the Champions league in 2021.
At times trophies are not won by the best teams but by the most practical and lucky teams.

Comparing Prime Roy Keane to a 21 year old player who has gone through relegation twice with Soton and West Ham and is probably on a hat trick of relegations with Spurs is amusing.
United have been taken to the cleaners from big money transfers for mediocre players several times since Sir Alex retired. Names like Memphis Depay,Martial,Lukaku, Pogba(twice),Jadon Sancho,Angel di Maria,Antony,Fred,Bastian Schweinsteiger,Henrikh Mikhitaryan,Eric Bailly and Alexis Sanchez have been signed for big money fees and in the end had no interest of the club at heart. They were flops and virtually felt like the club was taken as donkeys by agents and the players. They were only after money and could care less about the club history or culture.
United were ready to match the £85 million for Mateus Fernandes but insisted on a staggered payment which was rejected by the players representatives and the selling club West Ham. So in the end it was obvious that the player was after immediate monetary advantage.
United have probably dodged a bullet here but we should know better by the end of the new season.
I am absolutely confident that United management have other irons in the fire but are very much in their rights to refuse to be drawn into another mindless and silly transfer war. If they have their targets and have a way they are ready to carry out their transfer business,then they are entitled to do things their own way. The end result which is to win trophies is the means.

And it is the same toxic fans criticising the caution of the management not to sign players for astronomical fees which they do not deserve that will start calling the management out if the player signed is a flop and a disaster. Signing any football player is a risk. So risks need to be calculated properly. Matheus Fernandes is NOT worth £85 million in my book without any reservations.
Already some of them are calling the new signing Ederson,as Fred Mark 2 without seeing him play but relying on edited highlights.
Already in this world cup we have seen the poor and erratic tactical knowledge of recommended coaches hyped up by Internet fans on Nairaland, such as Julian Nagelsmann and Thomas Tuchel. Very average and tactically deficient coaches that do not know how to break down low blocks. Just being hyped because they are Germans or because they performed in a two horse Bundesliga. ON APRIL 21ST 2026 LEICESTER CITY WERE RELEGATED FROM THE CHAMPIONSHIP AND INTO THE THIRD TIER OF ENGLISH FOOTBALL!

That is how fast things can go horribly wrong under the wrong management! 2016 champions of England and 10 years later they are in League one. Who knows where they will stop,because once you crash through the relegation trap door if the club is not careful the only way to go is DOWN!!!

I hope fans will start to give Bruno Fernandes his rightful flowers. What Bruno brings to this team is immense. In his favoured position no player in this league comes close to him and without his assists and overall contribution, I just wonder where United would be.
Going forward Bruno has to be a pivot of whatever United are going to do this summer.

Hiring any manager,is a risk in itself. Will it work OR will it fail to work? Then add the pressure cooker,that is Manchester United into the plot,and you have a reciepe for failure staring you in the face.
While I have no say in the final decision that INEOS will take in the summer it is my humble opinion that it would be sucidal to pick a manager with NO premier league experience just because he is Portuguese,Italian,or German. United need to pick a manager who has a little knowledge of the premier league so we dont end up in a repeat of the Ruben Amorim fiasco or the Igor Tudor drama at Tottenham.
It would be the reasonable and safe thing to do,in appointing Michael Carrick on a season long contract which will be renewed subject to his performance. Carrick may not be an elite coach right now but watching his team play there certainly is potential in him somewhere.
