Manchester United kept possession of the ball very well I'm the first half and applied pressure and the press on the Real Betis players. As such they constantly and consistently won back the ball quickly and confined their opponents to their half of the pitch. In fact at a point in that first half our two full backs,Amass and Wan Bissaka were on the half way line.

However in the second half,when Ten Hag made a numerous number of substitutions and introduced many youngsters United fell into their usual pattern of defending deeply and in the end United were bearly hanging on to the 3-2 result.

There is a lot of potential in this team,especially with so many youngsters being blooded. The potential can only be achieved if Ten Hag shuns his old ways,gets rid of favourites in the team and tries to be a little bit bold and confident in playing attacking football at all times.

From this first half of this friendly game.

1. Amad Diallo has to start games on the right flank ahead of Antony. But knowing Ten Hag......

2. Harry Amass is better going forward and whipping in crosses on the left flank than he is at defending. He tends to lose concentration at his primary function which is defending but he is young and should learn going forward.

3. Rashford and Sancho are still Rashford and Sancho. They seriously need to up their game. They are senior professionals and need to lead and take control of games. Rashford scored from the penalty spot but his overall game needs to improve. He still gives the headless chicken vibe.

4. On the coach. I sincerely hope Ten Hag tries to be brave this season and takes off the hand brakes and allows the team to play free flowing attacking football. In this game United went down a goal early in this game but through consistently attacking and maintaining possession the United team were able to overwhelm Real Betis and score three goals. But then this is Eric Ten Hag. I hope he grows a pair of balls....

The match with Arsenal seemed like a continuum of last season. Man United played well. Scored a goal then as usual retreated into a defensive shell in typical Ten Hag cowardly football. Subsequently Arsenal stepped up a gear got an equaliser. Piled on the pressure and got the deserved winner.
It beats me hollow how Ten Hags team retreats into a defensive unit after they score instead of going for the jugular and completely destroying opponents.
The season hasn't started but watching this game brought a sinking feeling that we will not compete again this season.
Ineos definitely made a mistake in renewal of Ten Hags contract. The only good thing is that Ruud Van Nistelroy is probably being readied to step into Ten Hags shoes when he finally gets the inevitable boot!

Did you read the interview at all? He said he lost control of the mutineers because they were not under his direct control. They were Paiko's men and they were afraid of the crocodile staff that Ironsi was carrying and thought it was juju. Hence the decision to kill Ironsi against Danjuma's wishes and best efforts.
But of course you will believe the lies that you have been fed for ages....

From this interview ,it is clear that Danjuma just wanted to arrest Ironsi and interrogate him on his role in the January 1966 coup. Unfortunately he had no troops to carry out the task and was relying on troops loyal to Lt. Paiko.
The troops were superstitious and afraid of Ironsi’s crocodile swagger stick which they believed was magical and could help him to disappear from their mist. So Danjuma insisting on arresting Ironsi while Paiko and his men who were not loyal to Danjuma he was totally out numbered. Hence he had to stand aside when the Coupists abducted Ironsi and Fajuyi and drove out of government house Ibadan and left Danjuma behind .
