Crime / Re: Herdsmen Kidnap Traditional Ruler, Kill Police Orderly In Kaduna (Graphic Photos by Danyhel(m): 1:14pm On Oct 20, 2018

@POLITICSNGR

A Prominent Traditional ruler and his wife has been kidnapped during an attack by Fulani Herdsmen in Kasuwan Magani, Kaduna state, PoliticsNGR has gathered.

An Eyewitness to the incident hared the following story and photos below;

'It would be recalled that dozens were killed in Kasuwan Magani an adara community of Kaduna State on Thursday 18th October 2018.

News from Makyali on the road to kachia LGC of Kaduna state, has it that the Agom adara (The royal figure of the people) and his wife have been kidnapped, his orderly and four others killed on Friday 19th October 2018.

During the massacre on Thursday, the media as always portrayed it like a fight between the Hausa/Fulani and the Natives.
The Operation Yaki military personnel were camped just 400m away from the market where the massacre took place but they did nothing until when the local youths regrouped, mobilized and were coming to rescue the survivors then the military stepped in to stop them from saving their people.

This adara chief is one of the only two chiefs among indigenous nations in Kaduna state to order that all traditional leaders in his domain must wear traditional African symbols of royalty - the leopard skin, and dump the Ara Turban. Fulanis and Muslims in the Kachia axis vehemently kicked against it and attacked him openly.Now this kidnapped while he was on his way to attend a security meeting.

Also, news has it that the adara youths could have actually fought and rescue their royal father and his family but the military won't let them do it.

could the Military be colluding as earlier stated by TY Danjuma?'

For how long would fulani/hausa herdsmen continue to victimize and terrorise us??
I really feel human for this massacre in Kaduna, the military officers who stopped the youths from defending their royal father should be held for their action

If you call this woman a hoe for failing in previous marriages, and in turn praise the Oni for being a no nonsense man that doesn't take shiit from women, then you are sick. That Oni is the definition of failure in marriage.

If no one has good sense of judgement in this forum, I think you possess one. Let's call a spade, a spade
If you can't condemn the Ooni, why should you condemn the third wife on the bases of double standard....
Let's stop being bias and give face value inactions

The principal simply did what the copper is doing to his student. What goes around comes around.

There are many ways of killing a rat. Common, how would he beat her. I ain't saying what she did was right neither does the principal. If corper was to be a guy, would the principal think of beating him? Obviously, the principal will look for a better means of dealing with him

NGO set to launch youth development initiative
--- To grant scholarship to Nigerian writers
Olanrewaju Oyedeji, Ile-Ife
Nigerian writers are set to have the best of times as a Non-governmental organization, Index consult is set to launch a youth development initiative aimed at ensuring that potential writers achieve their dream of becoming authors

The non-governmental organization with the name 'Index Consult ' has her head office in Ile-Ife Osun state on OAU road 7. According to the coordinator of the NGO, the dream of having every Nigerian youth contribute to national development through what they write is a reason for setting up Index.. The NGO will commence full scale operations and will start consideration of writers works on September 5,2015. This position was communicated in an exclusive interview with Thedifference newspaper.
The coordinator Samuel Opeyemi noted that many talents in he writing industry have been left undeveloped, he also noted that many writers face the challenge of. Lack of financial capacity to publish owing to financial constraints or outrageous requirements of publishers, Index aims at ensuring that notable personalities are encouraged to support writers who have good contents, Samuel noted that ensuring youth development cannot be left to the federal os state government alone, everybody should be involved "we hope to give every potential author off the publishing cost, we know it is a big task but we are ready to go the extra-mile, we know that the book writing economy can boost employment rate in Nigeria and reduce unemployment to the minimum".
The coordinator has also called on the state and federal government to support the move to ensure youths become more responsible to national development through what they write.
In his own words the Director of operations of the NGO Yinka Isaac has revealed that youths can start benefiting from this support initiative as from 5th of September 2015 after the NGO must have been launched, young and talented writers can reach the consult via mail on iindexconsult@gmail.com or via phone 08164847752 or 08170939395 .
The initiative will be launched at Oduduwa University Ipetumodu , Osun state.
Meanwhile notable personalities have thrown their weight behind this move to strenghthen youths, according to the registrar Oduduwa University, the initiative is a laudable one that should develop youths if carefully pursued, Comrade Ifunedo praised the move and promised to support the idea.
Also comrade Yinka Gbadebo a former NANS president has also promised to support the youth agenda as every Nigerian youth has the right to be heard and so should not be denied that right.
Politics / Ife Traditional Council Set To Declare Demise Of Ooni Of Ife by Danyhel(m): 9:51pm On Aug 04, 2015
Ife Traditional Council set to declare demise of Ooni of Ife (thedifferencenews.com) Olanrewaju Oyedeji,Ile-Ife Indications are that the Ife traditional council is presently set to formally declare the death of the Ooni of Ife after severally denying that the revered monarch had gone on to join his ancestors. investigations have revealed that a crucial meeting held on Wednesday by the traditional council is not unconnected with the rumuored death of the Ooni and how to manage the fact that the news already broke into the public domain before the council had put its acts together. Equally in discussion was the issue of how to carry out neccessary procedural rites before the death of Ooni can be announced. Checks on the palace by The Difference in Ife revealed a state of unusual calm as workers in the palace maintained very tight lips as to the situation of the Ooni. When our correspondent paid a visit to the palace he was told that the chiefs and top members of the traditional council were not available to respond to queries. When he proceeded to ask for an explanation on the somber m mood in the palace, no one was ready to comment. Feelers however were that though the traditional council had sent out town-criers to tell Ife residents that the Ooni is hale and hearty, it was gathered that the traditional council members were very annoyed that the death of the Ooni went viral without their consent and that the announcement of Ooni’s death failed to follow their normal procedure. The traditional council it was exclusively learnt will however put all of these behind it soon and go on to announce the demise of the monarch soon in the hope that this move will bring to a close, all of the drama surrounding the monarch’s demise. It however remains to be seen how Ife residents and indeed the whole of Nigeria will receive the formal announcement of the Ooni’s death after repeated denials by the Ife traditional council. The race for who becomes the next Ooni has also silently begun with eligible princes already commencing quiet preparations for the frenzied succession battle that is expected to ensue immediately after the official declaration of the Ooni’s death by the traditional council.
Culture / Ife Residents Stockpile Foodstuffs As Anxiety Rises Over Oro Festival by Danyhel(m): 8:45pm On Aug 02, 2015
Ooni; Ife residents stockpile foodstuffs as anxiety rises over Oro festival — OAU Post UTME candidates in dilemma Olanrewaju Oyedeji, Ile-Ife Source: thedifferencenews.com
The mood of the Ife residents at the moment is that of fear and apprehension following the declaration of an Oro festival in honour of the Ooni of Ife. In respect of its customs and traditions, the traditional council has declared a 7-day Oro festival. During the seven days, people especially females, will be prohibited from walking on the streets from 7PM in the evening, and according to tradition, anyone who violates this law will be at high risk. The development has however led to anxiety as Ife residents have started stocking their houses with food items and other things with which they will survive indoors for the period in which the festival will last. A trader who simply identified herself as Adunni, said her sales have been on the increase since the alleged death of the Ooni especially after the public declaration of the commencement of the seven day festival. On his part, another Ife resident, Samuel Opeyemi, who is himself a graduate of the Obafemi Awolowo University expressed the fear that the seven day festival will result in hardship for residents. He voiced his reservations to other areas of discomfort for residents, especially as their movements will be restricted for seven whole days. A state of calm was however still notable as at the time of filing this report as residents continued to go about their normal activities even as several people could be seen in groups discussing the latest declaration of the Oro festival. Meanwhile, prospective students of Obafemi Awolowo University are not finding the declaration of Oro festival funny at this time against the backdrop of their post-UTME tests which is scheduled for Saturday, August 8, 2015. In separate interviews, some of the post-UTME candidates said it may be unsafe to embark on a trip to Ife at this time with the drama currently playing itself out within the ancient city. Isaac Yinka, a post-UTME candidate however expressed the hope that the post-UTME will be peaceful and that the date will not be extended. He however requested the authorities to be more sensitive to the particular details of their situation: “If there will be restricted movements, we the post-UTME students may find things difficult especially considering the fact that we are new to the city,” he pleaded.
