1.Don’t expect the guy to pay. Sure, it’s a nice gesture, but is it seriously still necessary? These days, people are all over the map in terms of financial independence and the ability to pay for themselves, let alone a plus one (especially if you’re both relatively new post-grads). I can maybe get behind the rule “the person who does the asking, does the paying,” but, even then: meh. You’re both investing your time. Don’t decline a second date just because you had to pay for your own $3 beer. 2. But if he is paying, don’t take advantage of it. Look, dating is not your opportunity to try out that super bougie French place uptown with $19 apéritifs. It’s an opportunity to get to know someone new and hopefully even make out while you wait for the subway. If you can’t afford the meal, don’t expect this guy to. 3. Don’t be afraid to date outside your type. It might be a total disaster, but it might also be a good time. I’ve dated men that range from a cook with full tattoo sleeves to a gawky kid that worked at Fox News. Both of them ended up being total disasters, but at least I gave each one a shot. You never know who will surprise you. 4. Stop going out with dudes you’re not actually interested in, just because you have nothing better to do. I can name five things you should be doing on a Friday night instead: re-watching Freaks and Geeks on Netflix, making friendship bracelets for your gal pals, reading a book, watching Youtube videos of dogs greeting their owners coming back from war, or literally anything else other than leading someone on just because you don’t want to be alone in your apartment. It’s a pretty scummy move; if you tried dating out but ultimately decided you’re not into it, don’t waste someone else’s time. Nobody likes that person. 5. Create an online dating profile. This is 2014. Don’t let the haters stop you from doing your thing. Just go for it; worst- case scenario, you have a drink with someone you aren’t actually into. If they ask for a second date, politely let them know you’re not into it and move on. No harm, no foul. 6. Let your roommate know where you’re going. Chances are, your date probably won’t murder you, but in the words of my mother: “it only takes one time.” Just shoot your roommate or best friend the details of the man you’re meeting up with, including his contact information, a link to his profile (if you met this potential Ted Bundy online) and where you’re meeting up. It takes 30 seconds. 7. Stop worrying about your number. Stop. Just stop. This is just plain ridiculous. Sleep with who you want, when you want to. 8. Don’t follow your friends’ advice on who to date. Everyone has different tastes. I’ve been into some guys that weren’t exactly conventionally attractive, but who I thought were insanely hot. My friends have balked at my taste, but hey, I’m the one making out with him, not them. (Also, if you have some slightly chubby, bearded friends with absolutely no sense of style, slip them my digits, please.) 9. Stop drunk-texting That Guy. I am one of the worst offenders of this. But seriously, it’s not cute. You’re too old for that ****, and it never ends well. 10. Know what you want. There’s nothing wrong with wanting a boyfriend. There’s also nothing wrong with wanting a buddy to have casual sex with. You do you, just make sure the guy knows what’s up, too. No one likes mixed signals. 11. If you like someone, ask them out. The worst they can say is “nah, I’m good.” I know this is difficult, since we ladies are typically taught to let the knight in shinning armor come to us, but all I’m saying is, if you’re boss enough to audition for that play, run that meeting, or analyze those numbers at work, you’re certainly boss enough to ask some schlump to grab a beer and play skeeball. 12. Be open, even if he’s wearing what appears to be his great aunt’s sweater vest. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard some iteration of the phrase “oh, he’s really nice and cute, but he doesn’t dress well.” Um, no, that’s not a reason not to go out with someone. Chances are, he’s wearing that ill-fitting polo and New Balances because his mom went on a coupon rampage at Kohl’s. But fear not, ladies: eventually you can gradually start buying him cardigans. And he will probably wear them. Be patient. 13. Calm Down It’s a date, not an interview to join the FBI. Don’t be the person you think the other person wants. Don’t freak out if you accidentally overshare about the time you threw up at the 7th grade student council meeting. Just chill out, enjoy the night, and see if anything comes of it. You might be sitting across your future long-term boyfriend, or you might just be sitting across from a dude with whom you will only share an illuminating conversation about artisanal cheese. Either way, it’s not that big of a deal. 14. Don’t adhere to arbitrary rules about dating. Because, let’s be real, none of us really know what we’re doing, anyway. |
Most marriages go through periods of highs and lows. Therefore, it is pretty common for a husband and wife to differ on certain points. At times one person becomes more dominant than the other. If the husband enjoys making his point heard, the wife would prefer to let him have his say to maintain calmness in their bond. Or, the wife may disagree with her husband on different topics and the husband might choose to act as the peacemaker. Well, here are some ways to handle your spouse’s temper effectively. 1. Recognize the triggers The first step is to recognize each other’s temperament. Make it a point to voice your feelings to one another in the best possible way without being condescending or judgmental. Once both of you are aware of what acts as a trigger for your respective anger issues, you can deal with them more effectively. It is common knowledge that ‘opposites attract’, and so make sure that both of you balance each other out and are aware of what irks the other. 2. Take a step back Secondly, it would be wise if you took a step back to allow your partner to cool down. Therefore, if you find your spouse getting angry over something, do not make things worse by tackling them or reprimanding them for their actions there and then. Instead, step aside and allow them to calm down. In time, they themselves will come back and apologize for their outburst. The key here is to give them their space so that they can realize their folly on their own. 3. Keep your own attitude under check Realize that at times it might be your behavior and attitude that might cause tempers to fly. If you fight fire with fire, you will land up in a stalemate with the problem still left unsolved. It is vital that you manage your emotions well in order to prevent any major outburst with your temperamental spouse. So, if you know that there are things that could cause an emotional outburst; your reaction to it could determine whether it has the possibility of turning ugly or getting resolved. 4. Dig into some patience Fourthly, in order to really deal effectively with your short-tempered spouse, you will need to dig into your reserve of patience. Sometimes you may disapprove of your spouse’s outbursts over trivial and petty issues. These may cause you to wonder what you might have done wrong. However, the key to dealing with such outbursts over minor issues is to have the patience to deal with your partner calmly. Therefore, avoid responding with equally nasty comments that could rupture into something major. 5. Encourage them towards change Lastly, you could help encourage your spouse to adopt certain tips to calm down during an outburst. Deep breathing and maybe some meditation in the morning could prove to be the right solutions to help your partner control his/her temperament. Also, make sure to inform your spouse about the ill- effects of anger, namely how it can lead to complications and affect their health in the bargain. These tips are sure to keep a check on your spouse’s temper issues, thereby ensuring that your marriage is stable and happy. |

You see a beautiful girl and you may ask how can you tell if she's a virgin.................................. The truth is, "there is no way to tell if she is a Virgin". However, over the years, there have been many misconceptions and silly myths that have spread claiming that you can tell if a girl is a virgin or not. Supposedly you can tell if she's a virgin because she'll be lacking that certain non-virgin look. What surprises many is that most "signs" she is a virgin are not very dependable: To some guys, it can be challenging to tell if a woman is still a virgin, or otherwise. Worse, there are women who are good at "faking it", so they are able to dupe men to thinking that they are still virgins. You must therefore know the tricks of the trade when it comes to telling for sure if a woman is virgin... or not. The truth is - you can't. The biggest misconception is that if a woman doesn't bleed when having sex, then it's not her first time. This is utter nonsense. If there's someone who tells you that he can tell whether a woman is still a virgin or not by looking at how she walks or how big her thighs are, then chances are that he is pulling your leg. You should know better! One common myth that people ascribe to virginity is that her breasts change after sex. For example, some claim that their breasts point outward more or that one breast might be plumper because she has not had sex yet. A possible source of this belief is the change that happens when a woman is pregnant or reaching puberty but, outside of these contexts, such transformations are entirely fictional. Similarly people have falsely pointed to other physical changes as evidence. Somehow people have connected flat backs with sex. This one is just ridiculous, since as women age, they many gain a little extra booty. When a girl loses her virginity, she doesn't morph into a new body, she's just had sex. Similarly, clear and sparkly urine has been targeted as proof of virginity. My favorite myths have to do with appearance. You may hear a friend say that women have that sexy "Certain kind of look" when she has not been deflowered. Some even go so far as to suggest such specifics as the girl losing eyebrow hair. A pelvic examination, injury, or certain types of exercises, such as horse riding, gymnastics, cycling etc may also rupture the hymen. Sexual intercourse does not always rupture the hymen. Therefore, the absence of a hymen does not necessarily indicate prior sexual activity" So in Conclusion, (and After all that....) YOU CAN'T TELL>>Unless the Girl owns up >>>. |

Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) yesterday said since telecoms network quality deteriorated in the country a month ago, it now receives 50,000 complaints daily from aggrieved subscribers. Therehave been a lot of drop calls and undelivered text messages due to poor quality of services being rendered by the operators in the last one month. ButNCC yesterday threatened to sanction telecommunications service providers over poor quality of service, drop calls and unsolicited text messages sent to subscribers. Speakingat the fourth quarter meeting of the Industry Consumer Advisory Forum (ICAF) in Abuja, NCC’s Executive Commissioner in charge of Stakeholder Management, Okechukwu Itanyi, said operators should eaither address the nagging issues of poor quality of service, drop calls and unsolicited short message service(sms) or face sanctions. “We have done it before. We are going to do it again, if operators fail to meet our KPIs. Today, there is a paradigm shift from mere service provision to ensuring that consumer satisfaction ranks highest in our priorities in the provision of ICT goods and services,” he said. Also speaking, Director, Consumer Affairs Bureau, Maryam Bayi, said the NCC receives about 50,000 complaints daily from its automated call centres from aggrieved subscribers over poor quality of service, drop calls and unsolicited text messages sent by operators. Bayisaid already, operators had been invited for a meeting with the commission where they had been told to stop dispatching unsolicited sms, warning that operators would be sanctioned for failure to comply with the directive. Aspart of pragmatic steps taken by the commission to ensure improved quality of service, the Director of Consumer Affairs Bureau said NCC has set up Quality of Service Unit in the commission to receive consumers’ complaints and protect their interests. Bayi, who just assumed office a fortnight ago, called on subscribers to use the medium to express their concerns and challenges for quick and timely responses. Shepointed out that NCC initiated Number Portability for subscribers in order to promote competition among service operators as well as address the issue of poor quality service in Nigeria. |
Sleep is a naturally recurring state characterized by reduced or absent consciousness, relatively suspended sensory activity, and inactivity of nearly all voluntary muscles. It is a heightened anabolic state, accentuating the growth and rejuvenation of the immune, nervous, skeletal and muscular systems. Experts suggest that an individual should have a minimum of Six hours sleep each day. Not having enough sleep have been linked with Increased risk of motor vehicle accidents, risk for psychiatric conditions, depression, slow thinking, headache etc… How Much Sleep We All Need: Newborn babies from 0 – 2 months old – 12 – 18 Hours Sleep Infants, 3 – 11 months old – 14 – 15 Hours Sleep Toddlers, 1 – 3 years – 12 – 14 Hours Sleep Preschoolers 3 – 5 years – 11 – 13 Hours Sleep School aged children 5 – 10 years – 10 – 11 Hours Sleep Teenagers 10 – 17 years – 8 – 9 Hours Sleep Adults Above 18 years – 7 – 8 Hours Sleep But sometimes, even after a stressful day at work, and you just want to sleep off, it could be difficult to sleep, here are some tips that could help you sleep easy. 1. Stop Thinking. Most people are in the habit of thinking a lot when it’s time to sleep, they begin to make plans for the next day before they sleep and they do not know that, when your mind is not totally as peace, you won’t be able to sleep. So for sleep to come in, you must try to blank your mind. 2. Take Your Bath. This isn’t compulsory, but to be able to sleep fast most times, you need to take a shower. 3. Be Comfortable. Don’t try to fall asleep on the couch out of laziness, make sure you are dressed on an easy outfit that would free your body, ensure the temperature is perfect for you, then go to your bed and sleep. Always choose the right position that works best for you, whether you’re a hip, back, or stomach sleeper. Also, make sure your pillow is neither too flat nor too high because either may put strain on your neck. 4. Switch Off The Light. Most people find it easier to sleep without the lights on, but if you are finding it difficult to sleep with the lights on, try and switch it off and see if it helps. 5. Play Slow Songs or “Blue”. If you keep getting distracted by an annoying sound, play some slow songs or “blues” they would help calm you down as well. Also ambient noise like raindrops, running water, wind, or binaural beats are all sounds that help some people sleep. See if you can download a free app with these features. 6. Do Some “Boring” Things. One Man’s meat is another Man’s poison, to some people reading is boring, and they often fall asleep when ever a pick up a book, you can try that. You can also play games like solitaire, cross word, sudden etc.. 7. Put Pillow Between You Legs. This is necessarily for people who can’t sleep without someone next to them, but putting a pillow between your legs would help reduce the stress or pain for those who have stomach or back pains. |

The Uruguayan became the first player in Premier League history to score three hat-tricks against the same opposition, while Raheem Sterling added a late fifth for the hosts.. Luis Suarez scored four goals as Liverpool beat Norwich City 5-1 at Anfield on Wednesday night. The Uruguayan has now scored 11 in his last four appearances against Norwich, with this being his third treble in that time, and three of the strikes were of the highest quality. The opener came after quarter of an hour as he thumped in a long-distance volley, before turning home a corner 14 minutes later. His third was a beautifully struck half-volley from the edge of the box as he became the first Premier League player to score three hat-tricks against the same side, before he netted his fourth with a curling free kick 15 minutes from time. |
President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience Jonathan, have both checked in at a hospital in Germany as a result of a yet to be disclosed ailment. On Tuesday night, President Jonathan had abruptly flown out of Abuja ostensibly to attend a Summit on peace and security in Africa organized by French government. Several ministers and service chiefs accompanied him to the airport for the late night flight, but only a handful of officials travelled on the actual flight. A reliable source at the Presidency told Sahara Reporters that, contrary to the impression created that the trip was for the French-sponsored security summit, Jonathan and his wife are undergoing tests and receiving treatment in the same German hospital where Patience spent several months last year. According to Sahara Reporters, the source added that Mr President had been feeling unwell since returning from a recent trip to London where he was hospitalized for a serious stomach-related ailment. Sahara Reporters had disclosed that the president fell seriously ill after a bout of bingeing on alcohol. But the Presidency had denied that report before now. The source revealed that plans were made for President Jonathan to receive medical attention in Germany after he suddenly fell ill last weekend in his home-state of Bayelsa during a visit there. The president’s sudden illness almost led to his emergency evacuation to Germany, the Presidency source said. Sahara Reporters sources stated that Mr. Jonathan has had recurring abdominal troubles in recent weeks. |

Last week, Google rolled out a new version of Android to very little fanfare and quite a lot of boredom. There's a reason for that: Google Play Services. Back in September of 2012, Google released a new app to the Play Store. It allowed the company to roll out new features to Android users running 2.2 and up without getting a complete OS upgrade. This app,Google Play Services, was the focus of the last Google I/ O. And, as Android 4.3 demonstrated, it's a powerful tool for bringing new features to users of old operating systems. So, how does this new platform work, and how does it differ from Android itself? Just What is Android? Why Google Play Services Are Now More Important Than Android To understand why Google Play Services matters, we have to understand what Android is. Most people assume that "Android" means "a phone running software." This is not always the case. Technically speaking, Android is an operating system for mobile devices. Because it's open source, a company can use it, modify it, and make it their own without involving Google at all. The Kindle Fire is the most obvious example of this. While it runs Android, it lacks the Play Store, any built-in Google services, or even any mention of Google at all. Instead, Amazon built its own app store, content services, and hardware. This is what Android is. A platform for any company to build on. The reason that Google and Android have been so intertwined thus far is because, in order to get access to the Play Store (or, previously, the Android Market), device manufacturers had to adhere to a certain set of rules and include certain Google apps or features. This kept Google at the center of the OS in its early stages. However, began the process of separating itself from Android a long time ago. Most Google Apps Are Already Separate Why Google Play Services Are Now More Important Than Android When Google released Android 2.0, the worries were already beginning to mount. Anamazing new turn-by-turn Navigation feature was about to ship on the brand new Motorola Droid. However, it was also released to the Android Market the following month . This began a trend of Google releasing new features via app updates instead of operating system upgrades. |
