Pls nadnad, where u charged 3000 from the beginning when u cald the doctors office. I cald fr kulach office today and the secretary said I have to deposit 5000.pls help me out.
Nadnad:
I came in last weekend , applied for my visa when I was already pregnant didn’t indicate childbirth because I wanted to go to the US.
But I changed my mind along the line and when I come in I declared at POE that I was here for childbirth. I was take to secondary inspection. They counted my cash and filled a form online for me and gave me a paper that will allow me stay for 6months and stamped my passport in for 6months as well.
They thanked me for my honesty and that was it.

I am using Doctor Ingras Kulach fit her details from here and they are only affiliated to Peter Lougheed hospital.
Calgary is abit in the high side though

So far Doctors fees is cad 3000
Hospital gave 3863 for mother and 2068 for baby per day! I have not gone to the hospital and I don’t intend to go till am ready to deliver.

I have only paid doctors fees and it includes all visits before nd after birth.
All my test and scan from Nigeria we accepted.

Hello Ladies I recently had my baby in Calgary, Canada. Before I applied I read nairaland from pg 1 to 20 plus then. Pls let's read the ALL the pages before asking any question.

At the point of Entry the officer just asked my why am in canada, I said Visiting. He asked who?, what I do for a living & other random questions that has nothing to do with my pregnancy, don't think I spent more than 1 minute him.

My bill for Vaginal Delivery

Admittance fee 838,
Hosp fee daily 3673 (For 24 hrs)
Baby's Hosp bill 1080
Obstetrician fee 500
Paediatrician fee 250
Total CAD$6,341

Other Expenses
Birth Certificate long 60
Birth Certificate short 41
Passport photo 25.2
Canadian Passport 107
Nigerian Travel Doc 100
Post to Nig. Embassy to & Fro 40
My baby's KLM ticket 243.5

Please Note: If they had asked me if I was pregnant at the Point of entry I would have said YES. There is no point lieing when u r obviously pregnant. If u r lucky u can meet a good officer.

This bill does not include seeing doc before & after delivery. I posted my bill to give a guideline, bills varies from the city u give birth, the doctor, type of delivery and also if there is complication.

I want to use this opportunity to thank Hotstepper for her assistance when applying for baby's Nigeria document. I wld HV applied for Nigerian Visa or passport for baby BT she explained to me that its not necessary. I should just apply for Emergency Travel Certificate for baby which is cheaper & faster.

If you need further information I will try my best to answer. Goodluck!

A family friend told me I had to wait for the birth to be registered which takes 10-15 days before applying for the birth certificate. Can I expedite the birth certificate also and can the birth certificate be done online anywhere I am in canada

thanks so much my people. it was indeed a journey filled with testimonies.

i applied for my TRV on 26th August and got the visa Oct 12th, then i was already about 36 weeks gone. there was no place in the application that they asked if i was pregnant, so i didnt say i was. leaving Nigeria at that stage in pregnancy wasnt like i planned it that way but the visa took so long to be approved. i submitted via paper route in Abuja embassy. i didnt have any issue at the port of entry. the cbp only asked me how long am there for. i told him 2 weeks because thats what my flight booking says. i changed the dates when i got there, cause i intended staying for 2 months.

On my stay there, i stayed in my brother's house, and the wife took me to all the places i went to, so i didnt have the course to hire a cab. weather wasnt funny for me. that was the peak of winter there.

breakdown of the hospital bill(7000cad)
mother's bill 3000cad
doctor's bill 1600cad
baby's bill 2500cad

blood work for baby 600cad

that makes it total of 7600cad

I applied for the birth certificate and got it 7 days with 25cad

after which we travelled to Edmonton for the passport, i had to go for express and i paid 110cad and got it within 5 days.

i didnt go for Nigerian passport, we only got travelling document, from Otawa and i paid about 150cad not too sure. that also came out like in 5 days.

feel free to ask more questions if you need more information

Pls you are yet to reply me. Which city did you birth and the Dr name and hospital. Thanks

I got into Calgary first week of this month . I was able to get an appointment with mosaic primary health care , they asked me to come with all my results and scabs from Nigeria which I did. Prenatal , doctor, postpartum care up to 6 weeks after delivery everything is cad 5000. The doctor is really nice and said she'll need to review my results from Lagos to know the ones i have to do . Sent me for scan and later asked me to go for some blood work.
