Education / 19 Year Old Students Get Married In Ondo by Davefortune: 9:58pm On Jul 29, 2018
Nigerians have taken to social media to react to the alleged wedding photos of two 19-year-old students in Ondo state.

A Facebook user identified as Olajumoke Oluwadamilola, has taken to the social networking platform to shared some photos of a teenage couple who were recently pictured getting married on their wedding day.

She captioned the photos: "Wishing you all the love and happiness in the world and congratulations on your marriage. Imagine 19 years student get married to eachother."

Meanwhile, the photos have been trailed with mixed reactions and criticisms as Nigerians have reacted to the alleged wedding of the two 19-year-old students in Ondo state.

Many have also condemned the act because the couple were just teenagers, while some added that their parents should not have allowed such a union to take place.

Some online users are of the opinion that the teenagers dressed up as a wedding couple for their school’s drama program.

A commenter, Chrysolite Seyanu Olukemi wrote: "Are you sure is not end of the year party playlet? You people come out to defend yasef before your name spoil finish.... Anyways you can make it real later in future."

One Dyoni Chux said: “My dear, whether school drama or not, I've seen this type of marriage happening several times. I could be that he's an only son to his father who's also an only son. And if he's been trained to be mature in spirit and mentality nko? See forget all these new set standards that are ruining Africans.

"Back in the days our great grandfathers married at age 17-21 to wives from 12–17. That's why they give birth at early stage, concentrate and raise their children early, and retire at the age of 40-55 years as elders and grandparents with large households. That is why the live up to 120years. But because of western education everybody wants to acquire certificate and end up as okokporo.

"Ladies will now get to menopause while they're waiting for rich man's proposal in the name of maturity at the end of the day, someone will still be paying university tuition for their children at the age of 70-80 when they should be relaxing and enjoying old age. Western invasion has dealt with Africa!”

While another commenter wrote: "Tijesunimi Adeyemo It's Either a school drama. Or the girl is already pregnant for the guy. Just thinking tho."

Miss Adenike Khadijat, daughter of the immediate past Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Alhaji Lasisi Olugbenga Oluboyo has been found dead under the bed of her boyfriend in Akure, the State capital.

Investigation carried out by our correspondent however revealed that the lady was used for Money Ritual by his Abuja based boyfriend called ADEYEMI Alao.

Q.S , as Adeyemi is fondly called by his friends dated late Khadijat when she was in secondary school until recently when they met again.

A very reliable source who spoke to TheElite Times Correspondent said the daughter of former number two Citizen of sunshine state is a final year Student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba -Akoko.

Our source also confirmed that the lady lived at STATE HOUSE VILLA, situated along permanent site, Akungba -Akoko.

Investigation conducted by our correspondent further has it that late Khadijat was killed by Adeyemi AKA Q.S and he kept her corpse under his (Q.S) bed for six days.

The Herbalist that did the ritual for Q.S who is currently at large, instructed that the corpse must spend seven days under the Bed for the ritual to scale through.

However, lucky ran out of Q.S on the 6th day.
His (Q.S) younger brother came to the house during the day and entered the room where late Khadijat was kept and the ghost of the lady appeared.

The visibly, mentally and emotionally disturbed younger brother of Q.S, according to our source, could not regain his consciousness until he reported the case at a police station in Akure.

A source who once lived with Khadijat said the daughter of the former Deputy Governor lost her life to PROMISCUITY.

"She can sleep with anyone. Within a year that she joined our VILLA, at least, I confirmed three men slept with her in HER room. We lived in the same compound.

"Her father provided everything for her. A police escort always bring her to school whenever she's returning from vacation. She travels virtually every weekend. If she's not in Lagos, she would be in Abuja or Portharcourt.

"And the worst is if she's going to Akure, she would tell us she's going to Ibadan. This one now, She told us she was going to Abuja, we never knew it was Akure she was going to until we heard the news of her death" a student of AAUA who lived in the same compound told our correspondent this morning in Akungba-Akoko.

We shall keep you posted as investigations continues.

Miss Oluboyo popularly, known as ‘Princess Nikky’, was found dead with her body already decomposing at the weekend in Akure, the Ondo State capital, few days after she was declared missing.

The final-year student of Educational Management at Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) in Ondo State was last seen in the company of her boyfriend.

One of the sources on phone claims that Miss Oluboyo had earlier been declared “kidnapped” by her family members when she was unreachable for days.

The source explained that the former Deputy Governor’s daughter had left the campus and travelled to Akure for a personal engagement until she was found dead.

“She told some of us who are very close to her in the school that she was traveling to Akure to collect some documents concerning her trip.

“The next day, we could not immediately reach out to her but someone said she called to inform that she might probably sleep over at her boyfriend’s place.

“We began to worry and called her boyfriend but that one said he did not see her, then we called her parents to tell them we could not find their daughter who left school for Akure.

“Immediately, the parents started searching everywhere and she was declared missing until yesterday (Saturday) that we heard she had been found dead.

“Now, everyone especially her family, is bereaved about the sorrowful incident because this is gruesome death.”

The source also added that Khadijat's boyfriend identified as Alao Adeyemi had been fingered in her gruesome death.

All efforts to get the reaction of Mr. Femi Joseph, spokesman of the Ondo State Police Command, proved abortive.

The calls made to his line were not connecting, while text messages also sent have not been delivered as of the time of filling this report.

However, another source claimed that the murder case had been reported at the station and was currently being investigated.

“Yes, the corpse was found on Saturday but I am not in the best position to give details,” he said. “All I know is that we, the police, have launched a full-scale investigation into the case.”

Education / Higher Degrees Not Impacting Lives In Nigeria – ASUU by Davefortune: 6:12am On Jul 01, 2018
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) said the craze for the acquisition of higher degrees in the country had not impacted enough on national growth and transformation.

The chairman of the University of Lagos chapter of the union, Dr Dele Ashiru, made the assertion in an interview with our reporters on Saturday in Lagos.

According to him, the craze for higher degrees such as Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and others has not had any significant impact on the needs of the society.

He said rather than go after higher degrees; Nigerians should venture into technical and vocational studies for skills acquisition that would directly impact lives.

“Yes, it is desirable for the system to produce holders of higher degrees, especially PhDs, but PhDs for what?

“I think we should refocus and restructure our education system so that it will be more relevant to our society rather than award higher degrees.

“Come to think of it, all the people that have acquired PhDs in Nigeria, let us carry out a forensic audit of what they are giving back to the society.

“Most people are running after the acquisition of these degrees for selfish motives. They feel for instance, that it is a requisite for their progression in life or a ticket for fulfilled life,” he said.

He added that, regrettably, such development was only peculiar to a country like Nigeria.

Ashiru noted that the way out was to pump enough funds into the vocational and technical education as well as meaningful research for socio-economic and political development.

He said successful Nigerians who had acquired wealth legitimately or otherwise should pump part of such money into the education system.

“Government should also plough back all retrieved monies acquired by individuals through illegal means to the education sector.

“It it time for us to re-engineer, refocus and restructure the system.

“We must start our quest for accelerated national transformation with our education system, because no society can rise beyond the level of its education system,” the unionist said.

According to him, development is a concerted effort and only the people can develop themselves.
