Congrats the selected predites , for all of you the journey begins here... My name is David I'm blessed to be admitted into OAU to study Medicine .. though I wrote jamb more than once . But I wouldn't feel so good if I didn't drop my hints.
The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing for all of you predegree is no joke no matter the course you want stay focused no matter the joke they make of you
From my angle there are two ways to get in for choice courses like Medicine especially . First especially for the Medicine or I die crew , you can sit up , shine eyes read start now use past questions some lecture theatres get tips make sure you leave no stone unturned solve every every focus on predegree past questions think of questions out of the box I repeat leave no stone unturned they may ask from what you overlook ... 'This way is called focusing on predegree '.
The second way to me is very drastic it means not putting your eggs in one basket you would have to use Jamb,Post jamb and predegree. You have to use your money learn what predegree teaches you though not bent on only passing pd but also learning all details understanding the basics, this style you are not just intending to thrash exam by any means you absorb the basics , might as well start reading for Jamb from now because the Jamb you know is better than the predegree you don't know so well. Also in this style you have to put in your best especially when sitting the post jamb your very best.but still do very well in pd
Be careful while choosing courses Jamb is considered first most times so if you get pharmacy in pjamb and medicine in pd the same time that would be complicated.
The second style I repeat is risky because not keeping your eggs in one basket is like chasing two rabbits it takes superb skills and acumen to grab one .
Let me state clearly it is better to use Jamb CBT especially in OAU Jamb is the most important exam if you like get 100 in pd but 130/400 in jamb on your own...
OAU questions are technical the examiners will squeeze out your brain , make you look unsmart and lazy I repeat leave no stone unturned.
Tutorials are good if you can handle stress. Acknowledge God always and his will will be done .
For Medicine aspirants this is war survival of the fittest let me tell you only 1.5 percent of aspirant get medicine in the end so buckle up your friend is your foe as well if he wants to get medicine mind the way you share knowledge ..its like naked weapon film . As for cmpites continue group reading its the best.for you guys... Less competition in that field.
For English : pay attention to speed when writing exams the time will be so short. Compare notes from all theatres compare examples. Read broadly you would be expected to get university english textbook. Make sure you research on more examples confusing words and so on. Learn new words.
For Chemistry: leave no stone unturned , learn calculations well.very well I repeat . You would be required to purchase predegree chemistry though . Just pay attention to hints, classes , compare notes.
For physics: compare notes , solve every every solvable ,get all details . Understand it physics is simple.
For Biology: Read between the lines , read very well your notes make up for most , read to memorise . So that if you have a description or a list of characteristics you can have an idea of all and point out the one that doesn't belong.
Predegree wuestions can be cunning you may have to answers looking similar. Pay attention to formulas, and values you may not be given that day e.g no of particles 6.02 *10^ 23 .
Medicine needs passion you may not flex during your pd days you just be about books and scores. Be focused in further years you won't have time medicine is a profession very absorbing you won't have time.Life is short enjoy it as well not only book my people happiness is the main thing in life enjoy your stay
However non choice courses can flex more
But makev sure you medical students don't skip food and sleep stay healthy always

Wow! Long time! It had been tough and stressful so far on OAU. I am a current part 1 student who did d putme with u guys( cos i don't like my current course) and i will be joining u guys next session. We have just 3 weeks more for lectures before the exam free week. In our last practical for Z00103 we were asked to bring a life toad for dissection. guy, if u don't have a life toad you can't be allowed to do the zoology practical. It carries about 35 marks out of 100. Get ready guys, na your turn! A week of lecture at OAU will make u forget the many months of pleasure at home. Mark my words! It's tougher here than pd. You av to read more and attend lectures esp practicals classes like chm103,bot103,zoo103 and phy107. Hmm,If you don't know how to run,you better start training now or else u may find urself sitting at the back or standing or even missing lectures when u resume.Imagine, you having bot101 at 8am and zoo101 at 9am and the distance between each venue is about 1km. Just KIV KIV KIV and Kiv! Be prepared. Those, still awaiting admission, never worry, you would still be admitted to Great ife!- FOR LEARNING and TORTURE...sorry i mean culture.
