So you think an AI search engine should be exactly like Google and blindly copy them in every way? It's going to take a new form, a new UI/UX and presentation not a list of links. You need to go back and read the simple definition of a search engine.

No, an AI first search engine is a generative engine that generates instead of searching. And it's is an AI search engine, it's not misleading in anyway. This is the true definition of what AI browsing should look like. You don't even understand, AI creates not rank, it's not Google for crying out loud.
lordlek:
What you’ve built is clean, but let’s be honest: this isn’t an AI search engine.
It’s a front-end interface that forwards prompts to ChatGPT.
Until it has its own indexing, ranking, or data retrieval pipeline, it’s not fundamentally different from typing the same question into ChatGPT itself.

A real AI-first search engine needs actual search infrastructure things like a crawler, a vector database, document embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation, or at least some form of custom ranking logic.
Without any of that, your system isn’t ‘searching’ anything; it’s just generating responses.

There’s nothing wrong with building a wrapper as a prototype, but calling it a search engine is misleading because it doesn’t gather, process, or rank information independently.
Right now, the intelligence is entirely outsourced to OpenAI’s model, and the only thing that’s yours is the UI layer

It wasn't meant to compete with Google or other search engines. It's a different category doing it's own thing.

It's "ok"

I don't think I want to give a review. It's a personal project not a business one met to compete with the likes of Google search

The search engine usually shows LOADING when you search since it's usually boots up a bit. After five to ten seconds, it should display your results so please be patient

I built my own search engine. It's my take on what I think an AI first search engine should look and feel like. Try out different questions and queries on it and tell me what you think. Share screenshots and what you asked it. Feedbacks and suggestions are appreciated.👍

I fine tuned an AI model for the Nigerian market and trained it on some local data. It's called Chat Naija. Try it out and tell me what you think. All suggestions and feedbacks are welcomed. It's still in beta testing so might have some issues or unexpected crashes or timeouts.

Broo massive congratulations 😅🤝

My main congratulations is cos this thing is fast af.

Not trying to be a show stopper but you know those small children that build carton cars and houses and stuff like that... It only looks impressive when you don't realize how easy it is to build.

There's a lot of open source models already that anyone can fork and deploy, so it would have been interesting to know what this one specialises on, that none can really boast of.

I'm grateful for the feedbacks and reception of ChatNaija AI on this forum. One that stood out most to me was the language barrier so I worked on a multilingual mode. Please, to help it improve, feedbacks and tips are welcomed. Don't hold back your comments or thoughts. Share screenshots and chats.

Programming › Let's Grow The Tech Ecosystem Together In Nigeria by davidaluu(op): 9:14pm On Jan 26, 2024
I'm shocked at the lack of support and help most aspiring techies need. So I decided to share a bit of my knowledge by creating a Whatsapp group solely for that purpose. I'd answer and attend to anyone that has any programming related questions and we'd grow together. I advise both newbies and seasoned experts to also join so as to grow the tech ecosystem. The link is down below. Please, do well to join and ask questions mainly programming and artificial intelligence and I'll do my best to answer.

Computers › Free To Access Computer Lab In Community by davidaluu(op): 3:56pm On Jan 17, 2024
A global company I work for wants to build a free to access computer laboratory in a community somewhere in eastern Nigeria as part of its charity initiative and me and my colleagues where tasked to do a feasibility study of whether it's a viable initiative or the money could be put to better use. The computer lab would be solar powered, around 50 computer systems with stable internet connection and free for anyone in the community to use. The upkeep and maintenance would also be handled by their charity branch. So, what do you guys think?
Agriculture › Expected Revenue From Broiler Farming by davidaluu(op): 10:53pm On Jan 14, 2024
How much does 1000 broilers sell for wholesale and how much does it cost to raise them? How much do I need to raise them to around six weeks and how much profit can I expect at the end of the cycle?
